  1. I'm thinking of trying to work up a second ring slot -- initially it was just because, having two hands, two rings would be nice, but then it occurred to me that if nothing else, it would be cool to be able to wear a ring to buff you alongside your wedding ring. I've pretty much never worn it because it's just not useful to me as a player and I don't want to lose the slot. Even if the second ring slot only works for the Wedding Band, I'd consider it worth it. Any more experienced modders have ideas on how to go about this, assuming it's possible? I swear this is the last time I'll suggest something that's been done because I'm too drunk to remember to Google. -_-
  2. I'm trying to retexture the alchemy workstation tabletop (just the tabletop, not the full bench) so that I can repurpose it as another crafting station. I've been successful in retexturing the mesh, but I can't figure out how to eliminate that green mist that rises from the center. Anyone have insight? Is it in the .nif, or in the CK? It lists 'additional textures' when I'm changing the model, and one of them is almost certainly the mist (pGreenMist01), but won't let me delete them. SOLVED
  3. And that's why Google is my friend. Apologies.
  4. I kind of have an inexplicable love for stahlrim, and also for crossbows. I would like a mod where you can craft stahlrim crossbows. Or, really, even just for someone to create a retextured mesh for them; pretty sure I could make a new crafting recipe myself, but over the last two days I have learned just how far I have to go working with .nif files. Any takers?
  5. EDIT: SOLVED I've been looking at other issues that folks have had with invisibility, and mine seems to be a bit more selective: I've created a food item, which works just fine (can be created at the cooking pot, can be eaten, etc.) and can be dropped on the floor and then retrieved. It's only invisible in the menus, as per the screenshots I'm including in this post. The havoc seems to work just fine and the item is visible when dropped. Can anyone tell me why this might be happening? Earlier versions of the .nif had no havoc, but the item was visible in menus; once I fixed the havoc, suddenly it's not. Quitting and reloading Skyrim does not help. I'm new enough to Nifskope that I'm not sure I can intuit what's wrong on my own, even by studying vanilla .nif files. Any insight would be appreciated, because this appears to be the last remaining bug in my first custom .nif file.
  6. Oh my goodness, thank you. That fixed it. Now I have to figure out how to edit the mesh, but that's a whole different issue. Thanks so much!
  7. Yeah, I'm changing the User Version numbers. Here's what the command box is giving me: Blender NIF Scripts 2.5.8 (running on Blender 249, PyFFI 2.1.10)Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Program Files (x86)\Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts\bpymodules\nif_common.py", line 1229, in gui_button_event self.gui_exit() File "C:\Program Files (x86)\Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts\bpymodules\nif_common.py", line 1589, in gui_exit self.callback(**self.config) File "C:\Program Files (x86)\Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts\bpymodules\nif_common.py", line 3769, in config_callback importer = NifImport(**config) File "C:\Program Files (x86)\Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts\bpymodules\nif_common.py", line 176, in __init__ data.read(niffle) File "C:\Python26\lib\site-packages\pyffi\formats\nif\__init__.py", line 1382, in read "Unknown block type '%s'." % block_type)ValueError: Unknown block type 'BSInvMarker'. Thanks for replying! @.@
  8. I am attempting to follow multiple detailed tutorials about preparing .nif files for import into Blender, but even if I follow all steps meticulously, with clean .nif files freshly extracted from the Meshes.bsa, I keep getting Python script errors that prevent me from importing .nif files at all. I'm really just after an extremely simple mesh alteration for an extremely simple object, but I can't get anything to work. I was first getting the 'string too long' error and most lately the 'unknown block type' error. Short of stabbing my computer screen, after three hours of installing/uninstalling, editing things in Nifskope, and scouring the internet for the reasons why it won't work, I'm still at a loss. Can anyone help me?
