  1. Honestly, I dont think anyone on here gives a s#*!... I have been trying to assemble a game just from existing mods and I can barely find anyone to help me with that, never mind someone to make something for me... Hate to say it, but were on our own...
  2. I keep getting messages about files missing and this and that, I keep seeing in readmes people saying that I need to merge lists with wrye mash and this and that function.... Honestly, I have no idea what its talking about... I use Mlox to sort my mods, I use Wrye Mash, dont know what it does, but it does it every time I turn it on... Then I use Morrowind mod manager to launch, which I dont understand the difference between that launcher and the vanilla launcher... I really dont know what all im doing with this stuff. Can someone help me understand this?
  3. Ah, the old familiar sound of 'no one gives a crap at all' Its nothing against you personally, its just that my low expectations of people is never really disappointed... Welcome to life  There are some good bits. Somewhere. And if by your reply you were hoping I'd do this, sorry but I'm not one of those people who could alter his mods. Well, I could change them. They wouldn't work but I could change them. No, im not saying that, what im saying is that for all the dog and pony show in the world, no one really gives a s#*! about anything beyond themselves...
  4. Heres something, I cross referenced my Wrye Mash load order with my Morrowind Mod Manager load order. The plugins in question were ticked in Wrye Mash, but did not even exist in morrowind mod manager...
  5. Is Morrowind installed in Program Files? What mods are enabled is stored in morrowind.ini in the same place as morrowind.exe, which is in Program Files. Since Vista (and irregardless of whether you have UAC on or off) Windows doesn't like files in Program Files being edited and will use folder virtualisation to store the edited copy somewhere else. I have all my files on my desktop so I dont have to run around like a headless chicken trying to find everything (Morrowind Game Folder) (Morrowind Mods Folder) OK, so not the Program Files thing then. Maybe it's got something to do with being in your Desktop (so in user profile directory), IDK. Oh. Check that morrowind.ini doesn't have the read only flag set on it. not sure how to do that...

  7. .....Care to share? Like what kind of leveling system does it use, what skills are used, does it make all vanilla armor? What other than vanilla does it make? Something other than "People like it" To be fair, that is what you asked in the thread title. IIRC, Morrowind Crafting has an extensive readme (or readmes) which will probably answer most of your questions. Readmes suck, every line spills a mile off the page, how is it that no one noticed that already?
  8. Dont know what to think of it... Every time I go to start the game I enable all my plugins and when I start the game they are disabled... Whats with that?

  10. My issue is with optimization... My laptop should easily be able to handle whatever this game throws at it, yet I have terrible FPS any thing I can do about that?
  11. I used NMM with Skyrim for a while at nearly all Skyrim mods could be downloaded and applied through NMM. Now ive turned to Morrowind and its just the opposite. Most if not all of the mods for Morrowind will not download with NMM and I have found that a few will on occasion... Whats up with that?

  13. Im thinking of using the male replacers from one mod and the female replacers from another. Any idea how to make that work?
  14. I'm about to give you a nasty surprise such issue you think there is doesn't exist and has never existed, because the success of crafting is based on the skills your character has when you attempt to craft something. What I mean is that you need to practice those crucial skills in-game. For example, let say you want to enchant a weapon or armor and you try to enchant it yourself but fail. Hiring an enchanter is out of question since you cannot afford to pay an enchanter for the enchanting service which is expensive. So how do you get a better chance to enchant something for yourself without spending a furtune. The answer is to train the Enchant skill by using enchanted clothes (amulets and rings included) or armor anytime or recharge the enchanted items in your inventory with filled soulgems and I recommend using Petty Soul Gem for this purpose for three reasons. 1. You can be certain of that Petty Soul Gem will always end up in loot 2. They're cheap to buy from vendors and almost vendors has Petty Soul Gem (most enchanters always have) 3. Almost every creature that exist in-game from level 1 fits into a Petty Soul Gem (max 30 enchanting points) So practice and more practice is the key to have a better chance to succed whether you want to craft something or want to enchant a ring by yourself.  Once I paid to have a ring made to increase the enchant skill by 100. about 3 out of 4 attempts to recharge an enchanted item with petty gems failed... Thats more than half failure with max skill. To put it plainly, the game is broken in that regard and it should simply be removed... And honestly, I find it very offensive that any time I ever ask for anything on the internet what-so-ever, that I am met with people telling me the opposite of what I already know to be true and telling me to do what I already know wont work... I find it very condescending and an insult to my intelligence whither intentional or unintentional... So why instead of giving me a yes or no answer do you make suggestions for something that I already know wont work and dont want?
  15. Morrowind Crafting is the mod that im talking about. The only thing I have seen about it is the description for what it is, but im trying to understand what exactly it does.
  16. A system for endorsement similar to what Nexus has? No a similar endorsement system has never existed and a system like that will never be introduced. Also keep in mind that all mods on MMH are considered to be a final version, so having an endorsement system is needless. Except for all salvaged mods on PES, unless a mod author has specific stated that. However, all mods on MMH that were previously hosted on PES had a quality system, meaning every mod that was released on PES (before 2012) needed to match a certain criteria(s) and here is more information about that. Dude, thats a dead link, did you look at it before posting it?
  17. See, this is a great example for our other discussion... I make a point referring to factual information on an empirical basis, and you respond with 'thats your opinion' then proceed to assert that I require the agreement of other people for factual information to be factual, or that empirical is not empirical if someone disagrees... You would assert a demand that I respect other peoples 'opinions' yet my 'opinion' is invalid because other people would disagree... This is the kind of thing that I take great insult from. And if people behaved like adults in the real world then I would be able to express that I have taken offense and be able to say my peace publicly as you have offered insult publicly. And as adults reconciliation could be established either with agreement and understanding, or simply the understanding that the two parties should not have interaction into the future. But because this is the internet there is no communication between civil adults, there is no understanding, it is merely whoever has the means to drop the hammer first who wins. So in reference to our previous discussion I do behave like an adult, its simply a matter of whither I receive the respect that an adult is entitled to...
  18. I put at least an hour into my thread, I put all kinds of thought and research into its development and its just gone? Who the hell are you to destroy my work yet leave all this other bullshit sitting around? Who the hell are you?
  19. You guys are all cracked... m'aiq the liar clearly fits the bill for all sources of knowledge and understanding...
  20. Sigh. "Best of the best" is so subjective. Nope. Well what are you using as a reference to determine what is best? I base all my decisions on what is Lore correct/friendly, and what maintains the general atmosphere of the game while enhancing it graphically as well as gameplay. So, for example, the 'best of the best' for head/face replacers would be the mod that looks the most realistic and does not offend Lore. Or, texture overhauls for terrain, buildings, items, and so on. Things are only subjective when you allow them to be ruled by emotion rather than logic. So in the end i would say that nothing is subjective so long as you stay rational.
  21. Thanks everybody, I really appreciate the help. Thank you for this. I am working on a project to collect the best of the best mods and I did not know to look for endorsements, that will help me ALOT. What he said. But. Morrowind only has a bit over 3000 mods on Nexus. Until the closure of PES very few Morrowind modders actually uploaded their mods here. There's more than 15,000 on Morrowind Modding History (although there's a fair number of duplicates and historical versions there). Even with MMH a lot of Morrowind mods are lost. Sadly. Is there a listing system on MMH for mods that have been tested, or an endorsements system? Morrowind only has a bit over 3000 mods on Nexus. There's more than 15,000 on Morrowind Modding History (although there's a fair number of duplicates and historical versions there). Even with MMH a lot of Morrowind mods are lost. Sadly. If you haven't mention that then I would. Also don't forget all unique mods that once were hosted on ElricM. Even if OldeCow69 provided a database backup to Fliggerty, god knows how many mods that was lost for good unless someone have a copy of those unique mods that ElricM once had. There is also GHF top 100 mod list. Thank you!
  22. Hello everyone, I have been trying to find a good mod for crafting and so far I have found a few. The one I like the most gets into a lot of detail on crafting and really looks good, but the thing that eats me alive is that it has a chance of failure system that makes crafting very impractical... In short, what I would like is for someone to take this mod and tweak it so that there is no chance of failure, but rather a skill requirement in order to craft. I find this issue very difficult because there are lots of situations where to craft something you need exceedingly rare materials that you simply cant afford to throw away. If this issue could be fixed it would mean the world to me... Basically if someone could I would like to see a skill requirement added to each item and remove the consumption of the ingredients if the craft cant be done. Also, but maybe a bit more complicated, I would like to see the skills for all the various crafts removed and all the crafts to fall under the Armorer skill maybe that could be made as an optional feature for those of us who choose expedience over realism. If someone can do this for me, or something related to this I would be very grateful... This is the mod im looking at.
  23. This is a project that I am working on (See Below) The keystone of this project is to keep everything lore accurate, or at least accurate enough to be plausible. I have found a number of mods that offer a good bit of content that is useful but the lore factor is in question. I guess if nothing else the help of some scholarly types would be of great help to me in this. I could just do all of this for myself, but I want to make this project a lasting impact on the community. If there is anyone interested in this kind of thing let me know. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is something I have been working on for a good little while now. The core goal of this project is to fill in all the various blanks and enhance the vanilla game as much as possible while still maintaining valid Lore and the general atmosphere that the vanilla game provides. Mods such as Morrowind Rebirth, and Tamriel Rebuilt are mods that I consider fundamental to the project. These two mods together overhaul the game adding in dense rich lore correct/friendly content all over the map and beyond. Rebirth Expands all settlements and adds a number of others on the island of Vvardenfell making the world feel more real, alive, and truly lived in. Where as Rebuilt does essentially the same thing but beyond Vvardenfell. The Tamriel Rebuilt team is constructing the entire province of Morrowind out to its farthest boarders. These two examples are the bedrock of this project firstly because they are made to be lore correct/friendly and secondly because they are so expansive covering virtually all land mass in the game world. The end result that I am looking for is a list of all mods out of the sea of mods that fit into this narrow gap accumulated and patched together to work with as few conflicts as possible. With this list completed the end game is OpenMW which will allow modding to reach areas of functionality that it has never had before. All the mods collected can then be taken, broken down, and reconstructed to work together seamlessly. The biggest problems with Morrowind modding in the past, is that there was so many technical limitations. These limitations will be removed allowing everything to be fleshed out to its true potential. I can realistically foresee this project succeeding. I can foresee the great role playing opportunities offered to the player by adding new quests and factions to the game. Creating new skills, Items and features allowing the player to create and customize characters that operate as they want them to. I foresee the graphics being wildly enhanced taking a dingy looking relic and making it look and feel like a totally new world. I can foresee much more dynamic and radiant AI eliminating that monotonous boring scripted behaviors of NPCs and creatures allowing them to behave in ways that have never been seen before. As far as im concerned reach for the stars... OpenMW offers the chance to use modern technology on an old system that does not require nearly as much demand as newer titles. Very realistically, the Morrowind that we have all always wanted can be done... So whos with me?
