  1. I watched Gopher's video on the Sharpshooter ENB (original) and he showed the difference with or without AO. I installed the ENB and there doesn't seem to be any difference with the shadows. There's better contrast but no AO and the shadows move every 7 second like in the vanilla game. I have GeForce GTX 980 Ti and AO is activated in the control panel. Is there another way to activate AO and get smoother shadows? Edit: Okay, so I missed the part in the description that said "important". I have to edit the ini-file. That part wasn't in Gopher's video but I guess it's outdated. I hope it'll work when trying it later.
  2. I know I can play even though I'm offline. I've done that many times. I mean, if the mod load order and setup is the same on both systems, can I transfer a save game from one to the other > play > save > transfer back and keep playing?
  3. That's good to hear. What about water enhanced textures/mods? Do they affect saves?
  4. I've bought a new desktop pc and would like to transfer all my mods from my laptop so I can keep playing with current characters on the new system. That part should be easy enough. Since the new system is a lot more powerful I would like to add ENBs for better graphics. Here are the specs: Intel Core i7 4790K / 4 GHz Processor NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 500 GB SSD I have a lot of mods installed on my laptop but they're mostly gameplay oriented mods. The mods that do affect the graphics are: "Enhanced Night Skyrim" "Immersive Saturation Boost" "CLARALUX - More and Brighter Lights" "DYNAVISION" "High Resolution Texture Pack (Free DLC)" "Enhanced Blood Textures" I have mods that enhances textures on weapons and clothing too. I currently run the game in 720p and with medium settings (I think) and the first thing I'd do after reinstalling the mods on the new system, is to max out the settings. I was thinking if it would be possible to have the same mod setup on both systems but with added ENB on the desktop. Then I could transfer saved games back to my laptop whenever I want to play on the go. And back again on the desktop later. Is such a setup even possible? I would have to use ENBs that doesn't affect the save files I guess. Better shadows is the first thing I would like to add. The Sharpshooter Extreme Graphics ENB seems to be a good choice but if there are better ENBs out there I would be very interested. It doesn't have to be only ENBs. Texture mods or other mods that enhance the graphics (water, reflections etc.) are welcome too. Is there a general rule as too which mods affect save games? If there's a combination of ENBs, textures and mods that work great on high end systems I would very much like to hear it?
  5. I mean, if you copy everything from the Skyrim folder onto the new computer after installing Skyrim, the data folder would be identical to the old one, so the mods are essentially installed, right? Do they register as installed in NMM if NMM i installed the transfer, or do I have to reinstall them via NMM if I would like to continue to use NMM? Does that make sense?
  6. What about NMM? If I install it is it able to organize the data that is transfered?
  7. When you say copy the content of the Skyrim folder, do you mean copy everything from \Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim ? It's where the data folder is and the mod folder with all the ZIP-files. Or are you talking about the \My Games\Skyrim, where the save folder is located and SKSE?
  8. What does a Steam backup do, exactly? I use LOOT to sort the load order. I was actually thinking of installing all the mods that are installed now and just use LOOT when everything is installed so the new load order is identical to the old one. That sounds easy enough in my mind since I can compare NMM lists on both computers. But using Wyre Bash is easier? I have a lot of saves. Don't know if that makes a difference.
  9. I've played Skyrim on my ultrabook for almost a year now and world really like to get a desktop gaming computer and transfer all my mods and saves to the new system. I've read some threads about it but would like to get some advise with some of the mods I use. Since my current laptop isn't a gaming computer, I've stayed away from demanding graphic enhancements. I updated the textures, added a DoF mod, but no ENBs. I have a lot of mods though but they are mostly armor and weapon mods, and smaller changes to the game. I use SKSE but mostly because of SkyUI i think. Additionally I use Dual Sheath Redux together with the following mods that is required: -XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended-Immersive Animations-Fores New Idles in Skyrim - FNIS I use NMM and would like to continue using it. Would the best method besomething like this: 1. Install Skyrim on the new system (+ DB, DG, HF). 2. Install NMM. 3. Install SKSE 4. Copy all the mod ZIP-files that are stored on my Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Mods, to a similar folder on the new system and install them via NMM (Install Dual Sheath Redux as instructed). 5. Copy the saves to the save folder and try to open them in Skyrim. Did I forget anything or is the order not right? I can't think of any other mods/add-ons that would cause trouble, but I'll have to check. Maybe there are files in the Skyrim folder that needs to be copied too? Thanks in advance!
  10. Never mind. Found it: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1345/?
  11. I would really like to design a sword for Skyrim. I use Rhino 3D for modelling, so making the model is not a problem. What would be the best way to go about it? I have no experience in modding at all. I know that a lot of people use 3D Studio Max, but I don't. What file type can be used for mods?
  12. Is there a mod or method to remove the glittering effect on enchanted weapons? I like how weapons look without enchantments better. :-)
  13. XPMS apparently had adult content, so I had to uncheck that in my profile to see the mod. Now I've installed it and it works. The only thing is the clipping issues with the shield and the sword/armor. It would be better if it was placed further from the back, but maybe that's not an easy thing to fix?
  14. Could Custom Skeleton Replacers by Skulltyrant work instead of XPMS?
  15. Link to the mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49784/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D49784%26preview%3D&pUp=1 I want to install this mod to have shields on the back when unequipped. Version 4.25 should make this possible but not without these requirements: Alpha Build Note: These requirements are only required for the 4.25 alpha build. - XPMS or a similar skeleton mod- Mesh packs (see below) Mesh Packs - For all left hand equipment, all shields on back, and all staffs on back, mesh packs are required.- These can be found on the Dual Sheath Redux page. DSR is not required, nor is a patcher, but mesh packs are required.- Currently the Vanilla mesh from DSR are even required. I will contact Neovalen asap to see about including vanilla meshes in the mod. For now, manually download DSR and copy/merge the Meshes folder in the DSR archive into you Skyrim Data folder. DO NOT install DSR, it is incompatible. HOW TO GET DSR'S VANILLA MESHES:1. Download DSR manually to a location of your choice (ex. desktop).2. Open the downloaded file. It is a ZIP (.zip) file, so windows can open it natively.3. Delete all the files EXCEPT the contents of the Meshes folder. Those are the needed files.4. Close the ZIP file and rename it to Dual Sheath Vanilla Meshes or Equipping Overhaul Vanilla Meshes.5. Open the Nexus Mod Manager. Hit add mod from file and select the ZIP file.6. Install the 'mod' added by NMM. It can be uninstalled and reinstalled as a mod as you please.7. The original ZIP file (ex. the one on the desktop) can now be deleted because the NMM has already duplicated it. This seems simple enough but there's an error message when I go to the XP32 Maximum Skeleton page (for the last couple of days). I assume you have to install XPMS before the steps above?? Is there an alternative skeleton mod that works with this mod? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance :-)
  16. Sounds simple enough, thanks. I'll try it out :-)
  17. I saw a video that explained how to copy and change any given armor with Creation Kit and it seemed pretty easy. He then copied the files into the data folder. If I instead wanted to install the changes as a mod via NMM, how would I do that? :-)
  18. I'm looking for something similar to the "Locational Damage" mod. That mod hasn't been updated for a while and judging by the comments, the mod doesn't work well anymore. I searched in the combat section and most mods are more about general combat. Are there mods like Locational Damage? Other suggestions are very welcome. :-)
  19. Is there anyone who uses "KISS - Khajiit Cat Sprint and Sneak" and installed it like described: 1. Install FNIS v3_3_2 skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/14871 3. Go to the FNIS install directory on your computer and run AS AN ADMINISTRATOR, "generate FNIS for users" 4. Tick the PC Exclusive Animation Path plugin in the list and hit patch 5. Install KISS 6. IF you are using VANILLA Khajiits, DISABLE the "PC Exclusive Animation Path - Khajiit.esp" in NMM. (IGNORE this step for CUSTOM races) 7. Be sure to have all of the .esp files of PC Exclusive Animation Path as HIGH AS POSSIBLE in the NMM load order. 8. Run the game Some help is really appriciated. Specifically concerning install and running FNIS Generator Sources 3_3_2. Thanks in advance :-)
  20. FNIS Generator Sources 3_3_2 cannot be downloaded with NMM so I download the zip-file manually. When opening the file there's no GenerateFNISforUsers.exe for the generator tool. There should be, right?
  21. You're right, thanks. I'll try to download the right versions and post the result.
  22. I have completed step 2 (Install PC Exclusive Path v3-2-2). In the description of PCEP it says that this mod requires a custom race, but it doesn't say that in the description of KISS so I'm not sure what to do. Here's what PCEP says about requirements: "This mod requires a custom racethere is no way to get around that. The reason is because you cannot animate individual actors in Skyrim, you animate the whole race instead. A better description of this mod would be "Race Exclusive Animation Path", but since I personally use a custom race, this mod does give "PC Exclusive Animation Path" for me." I'm new to this so I'm a bit confused, sorry.
