  1. Ok. Solved it. So many people sod off - leaving most of us lost. So I thought - No. I wont do that. I can spare 20 minutes writing this guide. (I realised that the help I was going to need was going to be massive and likely ignored. So I just tried it all myself.) hangingelvesear01.nif was found in ...steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\meshes\plants I installed nifskope using this as a guide to get setup: I then extracted the two dds files (herbs01_n.dds and herbs01.dds) from "Skyrim - Textures5.bsa" as thumbincubation said above. So I had to install BAE v0.10-974-0-10.7z and extract the two DDS files. I then placed them in the ..steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\textures\plants Opening up the hangingelvesear01.nif with nifskope i could apply the textures. There are two parts to the model click on one (the leaves) and then the other (stem). (This bit took me HOURS! but now i've found it - easier for future.) Once you've clicked on each segment within the render window- the left side of NifSkope menu will show some "stuff" all of which makes no sense. But using the little down arrows, i could expand each area. what you need to look for is something called: "BSShaderTextureSet" When you click on that, you will see some more "stuff" appear at the bottom. What was assigned to it - I could tell was wrong. Cant remember the names of the dds assigned to it - but from this I could tell where i needed to put the two correct dds files, herbs01_n.dds and herbs01.dds. textures\plants\herbs01.dds and then underneath textures\plants\herbs01_n.dds remember to do each segment -the steam and the leaves. two dds files for each segment. saved. and YAY!!! all is well!!!!! Sigh. I need a drink!!! There are two parts to the
  2. Hi there. I too have this issue - so I tried looking for this herbs01.dds - cant find it anywhere. (which I guess is why its not in game) I thought I would be clever and find it elsewhere - maybe somewhere on Nexus. Nope. for skyrim se.
  3. Desktop version? Vortex supports skyrim vr and i have used it in the past. Sadly it doesnt use the drag and drop approach to load order, but it is robust enough. It also gives you plenty of feedback with issues it encounters. The latest version though seems to have some problems with some mods which I am currently looking into.
  4. Well, for anyone reading this as of today, skse and skyrim vr (both latest as of today) are working. Only thing I am finding is an update with vortex seems to have broken some mod installations. I am hoping its just me being silly and have made a mistake. ELFX, immersive citizens and RS Children wont install correctly using vortex. Other mods like SMIMM, ETAC, RW2, CBBE, Verdant, Helgen reborn, cutting room floor all install fine. Currently investigating.
  5. Good luck! Im using vortex and having a bit of a nightmare with it. It doesnt seem to be installing some mods properly at the moment. Weird thing is, ive used the same mods to mod skyrim se with vortex and all is fine. And its not all mods either. Most of them install fine. I've posted over on the main vortex support page - but i dont know if ill get an answer. I'm no where near the 100 plugins yet! just FYI (you might already know this) I've since learned that Alternative start is not compatible with the VR mode and the fixes offered by some sound promising but will break your game. Also, USSEP and VR Fixes. USSEP has to be version 4.1 or 4.2. There is a discussion over on reddit that clarifies it. I understand that the author of USSEP is not offering older versions of USSEP on his mod page. Luckily, someone has over on reddit.
  6. It sounds to me like a problem with your mods. I havent heard of a 128 limit and I too thought that 255 was the limit. Its has always been a mission to find out what mods to clean (and what to leave), what load order and what is compatible. If you look on reddit, there is are some guides: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimvr/comments/936596/the_skyrim_vr_guide_compendium_a_collection_of/ see if there are any that take your fancy. I am going to be modding skyrim vr soon. i'm hoping that I can update skyrim vr and still use the latest skse as i want to wipe and start over.
  7. Its been a while since ive been able to play - or even open steam. I've noticed there is an update for Skyrim VR. I dont want to break my SKSE. I have the latest version -VR build 2.0.10 (runtime 1.4.15). Is it ok to allow steam to update Skyrim VR as of today?
  8. As xmas approaches - its pretty much the only time i get to actually sit down and play the pc with any worth while time over the holiday. So, ill be modding Skyrim VR now that Skui is available. Im hoping we can now put amazing follower tweaks with that. https://github.com/Odie/skyui-vr/releases Anyone a mod list and load order they would mind sharing? I like immersive citizens, People of Skyrim (seems to be ok with IC), Expanded Towns and Cities, Followers with standalone voices, realistic needs and diseases, CBBE with physics and the fnis, skeleton stuff. Graphics mods are down to taste i guess. 3d trees though. Like those.
  9. Never seem to have time to use my PC these days. Been a while since ive been to this forum also -but just saw your message. I hope you've figured it out by now - but if not and for those coming across this wishing to know the answer:- M8 - go into the settings and turn off the camera on the headset. Make sure its plugged into USB 2.0 and not 3.0 as well. I'm sure i had this problem too. When suggested to me - it seemed totally unrelated. But I did it and it worked fine again. I've since learned that you can have the camera on - but I had to move the slider bar to half way on the camera setting. This fixed it for me. Also -if playing in a dark/dim room, make sure there are no strong "kinks" of light anywhere.
  10. I still havent got around to sorting this out. I will at some point. Thanks for your offer thasundancekid. You made me smile when I read the blade runner line. I have used that myself to explain what VR is like to friends at work. Even saying it in exactly the same way! lol. I dont think I can use yours those mate. I use enhance lights and effects with Vivid Weathers. I have used the brighter nights and interiors methods with these. While I appreciate its realistic to be dark in a cave - I just cant see anything and the torches dont quite light up enough. Not knocking it - but I just want to be able to see a bit. I like dark and to try to make things out - but not black so i cant see.
  11. I know what you mean.. but honestly, I'm glad Bethesda did it. I really am. I wish others would do it to. Your right - for such a well established team, you would think they would get it right at the start. It still astonishes me. But I think it was their passion rather than their desire for cash that led them to do it. i know that sounds naive, especially as they are charging full price for essentially a mod - but i reckon they wont have made much if at all while we are still in our VR early stages. I wish other developers would provide a VR mod to their games. Some have done it and well done to them. Payday 2, the forest, rfactor 2, elite etc.. (to name a few) Still. hoping to get my head back into vr again soon.
  12. Yo! i'll say hi... again Been out of action for a long time now. Hoping to be able to get back into VR again now. Glad you got your Skyrim VR looking good now. Glad your enjoying it. (saw your post in another thread)
  13. BlueGunk - definitely your list. I'm desperate for those. I keep looking at the SkyUI page every day -waiting...praying.
  14. Oh wait.. no. Sorry.. I meant to say it wouldnt work. The rift wont work with Skyrim VR or Steam tools. Should have made that clear before. *stares at you waiting for a reaction* :) HeHe. No probs. Mate - you wait. You'll be blown away. "Pancake" (love this new term... like "Vanilla" and such) version will just seem..... well... empty and disconnected. I mean, I still enjoy Skyrim SE - playing with the family (kids love it. They are a bit too young to play it themselves) but when alone - Skyrim VR all the way.
  15. Still not 100% about using it offline - but again, cant see any reason. Besides, even if you cant - you can still make your steam private by putting your profile status as "offline". (if privacy is your thing and you want to appear offline). https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4113-YUDH-6401 This might help with setting up. https://riftinfo.com/why-and-how-to-use-oculus-rift-on-steamvr and https://uploadvr.com/play-steamvr-rift-touch/ Steam that you have will look the same - its just a VR tool will be running as soon as you use your rift. (soon as i press a button on my vive controller - steam (if running) will automatically fire up this tool and activate the headset) As far as I know - people with the rift can play skyrim vr with no problems. Fallout 4 came out with some issues at first - but i think skyrim vr came out ready to go.
  16. It just didnt load. I may try it again to double check. Theres a possibility i mucked up.
  17. I use the Vive and i'm sure i've played off-line. No reason why a rift wouldn't. But since you are wanting to know for sure first - i'm sure someone here can confirm it.
  18. Morning... You guys could try this out: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/16242 I am not at my home pc - so cant look into the Nvidia settings at the moment - but you should be able to set up a profile for Skyrim VR within the Nvidia control panel. It is quite straight forward when you see it. "Manage 3D Settings" at the top of the Nvidia Control panel. Its under "3D Settings". Then click on "Program Settings" - second tab on the right side of the Control Panel. Click "Add" to assign the profile to Skyrim VR. You will see in the window below (once you have added) where you can get at the Anistropic Filters as well as others. Hope this helps.
  19. Looks like some interest is around for the SkyUI for VR. Just checked the SkyUI page. Looks like there is a patch for it -but not easily available due to respect to the mod author. So hopefully - this will be resolved soon.
  20. There is a SKSE64 for vr. (runtime 1.3.64) However, I've tried to use some mods made for SKSE64 and they didnt appear to work. It may be that I did something wrong -but I suspect it was my poor choice. For example. SKY UI and Better Dialogue overall and better message boxes. That may come as no surprise since the interface for VR is powered differently. But again, this maybe because I did something wrong. At this moment I assuming that its not just a case of using a mod made for SKSE64...rather a mod made for SKSE64 VR.
  21. I noticed the views starting to creep up within the Skyrim VR forum. So i'll have a stab tonight and putting Rudy's on and see if it works. Can always remove it if it doesnt. I'll report back for those with an interest.
  22. Anyone recommend an ENB for Skyrim VR? I've got the ENB VR binaries - just need to put a preset into the game. I was going to just slap on Rudy's ENB. But before I do, I just wondered if it would work and if it doesnt - if anyone uses an ENB that does?
