  1. .223 Pistol!! So pissed they didn't put this Fallout classic, my fave, into the game :/ oh and mod it to have the "Blade Runner" sound effect, as a modder did for Fallout New Vegas (bless him/her!!! damn that is so awesome)
  2. Agreed! Can't recall the game that had that ability, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. perhaps anyway, one game let you use mouse wheel to zoom in and out, now THAT would rock :)

Walterminator yes I know :) but you can still "supress" it, to reduce the noise ;) advantage of large calibre pistol bullets in real life is you can better / easier load them with heavy bullets and specific powder designed to push the bullet out at subsonic speeds, thus reducing noise with no supersonic "crack" of a bullet going faster than sound and heavy/slow bullets are real man-killers. hence the DeLisle carbine used .45 ACP rounds in a heavily customized Lee-Enfield rifle. It is almost completely silent, all you hear on a well set up one is the trigger and bolt moving! there are two revolvers that I recall that DO mate the cylinder with the barrel as a "receiver": the Russian Nagant, and the Webley Fosberry? not been into such for years but wonder if someone has made more recent revolvers with such ability?

Moksha yeah I don't understand why Bethesda didn't add a silencer option for the .44 magnum perfectly fair for it t require rank 3 or 4 Gun Nut and expensive resources, but it should have been there from the start you can add a silencer to a freakin GAUSS RIFLE, so why not the .44 ? it leaves pistol players with a weak sauce limited number of options they gave us the lousy (in game stats suck) Tommy Gun as the only submachine gun in game, but not the classic, Fallout lore 10mm SMG etc
  5. or reduce the FREQUENCY of such events, since some give quests to open up new workshops (good) did you know some of the quests to open new workshops have timers?! I found that out yesterday, at least for the Jamaica Plain one now THAT Is damn stupid and annoying on top of the rest spend haldfmy damn time dealing with these freakin stupid Minutemen quests, really irksome

Agreed! way the entre bash/grenade thing has been done has been bloody stupid I LIKE being able to use a grenade hotkey when I want for quick work, also taking the explosives perk to show the arc of throw is nice :) But at times I want precise placement and instant explosion on reaching the target, as it was in FO3 and New vegas Think MOST of us want a separate bash/grenade set of keymaps, AND VATS useable throwable items
  8. yeah shotguns in RL don't lose power/effect THAT bad!! It's just damn silly I bet you the Bethesda coders have screwed up and put a decimal point in the wrong place, like instead of being perhaps 20 yards as the range, it's instead 2.0 yards!
  9. alas, the game has only TWO decent pistols, not counting the 10mm which is "bog standard" "Deliverer" can be silenced but not the .44 magnum, which kind of makes pistol users a bit in the weak end of things :( I think there should be a silencer for the .44, but take something like rank 3 or 4 of the Gun Nut perk to make it, plus appropriately expensive components in line with silencing a shotgun or such? And yes I do know you can't "supress" a revolver nearly as much as an automatic alas, the game doesn't have say a .44 Desert Eagle or other such heavy hitting semi-auto. one of my gripes about the game (which I mostly adore) is there's no 12.7mm SIG pistols/submachine guns, no 9mm Submachine gun, no 10mm submachine gun OR my fave, the .223 pistol, which are canonical lore in Fallout...but that's another gripe :P

No, miniguns do NOT take that much time to spin up and start firing They start firing as soon as the barrels rotate! it takes maybe half a second or more for them to spin up to full speed though depending on weight/power etc So you have an INCREASE in fire rate, but one that's pretty damn fast. The usual fire rate for miniguns is 2000 rounds per minute, but it can be selected, with some variants going as high as 12,000 RPM in *short bursts* for use as antimissile systems etc, CIWs but that extreme speed is rare case iirc, usually 8000 rpm is maximum and for most it's 4000 or 6000 rpm *maximum* 2000 rpm is more stable the mulitbarrels, rotation, and also if in aircraft the slipstream help keep the barrels much cooler than normal machine guns. Take a hell of a lot to make them glow redhot :tongue: but hey it's cool looking in game. depending on the system, with some such weapons, the barrels can be spun without firing Some even use compressed gas or hydraulics to spin I completely agree with the original post! it's stupid in games to make miniguns slow to spin up and THEN fire only when spun up, it does NOT happen in RL please go watch videos of them firing, people :smile:
  11. if the map would show, say a red dotted circular line around the maximum range of the artillery from each settlement, that would sure as hell save us a lot of time and wasted artillery smoke grenades trying t find out if we're too far away from the settlement to successfully call in an artillery strike! Damn that annoys you when it happens :P So knowing when you ARE in range would be great! :) either a new map or, like the "supply lines", a hotkey will show the range circles? also, to help you figure out when you have overlapping fields of fire, for that "BIGBADABOOM!" when you can call in multiple strikes, muhaha! ;) much thanks if someone can do this!
  12. the tiny text message flashing on screen when one of your settlements is attacked is often missed and frankly, damn stupidly lacking, sigh :( We really need a mod that when a settlement is attacked, sets off a short siren sound (which is already in game as settlements have sirens as a possible object to build),and flashes bright large text on screen kind of like an air raid warning! be very happy if anyone can mod this, please :)
  13. the mod that adds the actual Blade Runner gun sound to "That Gun" is awesome, and since I play a light armour/high crit build it works great as That Gun has big crit chance boost ;)
  14. Don't people know that shotguns get a chance to crit on EVERY pellet *outside of VATS*, but not while you use VATS? In VATS they only get ONE chance, total, to crit as if the swarm of pellets were only one projectile this means that they are absolute ass kickers with right perks/stats! there's seven pellets per 12 gauge shell ( don't know about 20 gauge in New Vegas, maybe 5?) so that's seven chances of a critical hit per shot! that's why with Finesse, high luck etc , a Riot Shotgun can tear apart damn near anything, as long as you don't use it inside VATS ;) However if you only want a headshot from sneak attack, then use VATS, as the pattern is tighter, all the pellets hit the head (if close) = insta gibbage. it counts them all as one massive instant crit = gibbage, because it's a sneak attack and sneak attacks ignore all damage reduction/threshold. this is why you should NEVER use shotgun slugs in New Vegas, you're doing it wrong, people!! :) and yes keep the flechettes for armoured enemies, as with Shotgun Surgeon, they shred even sentry bots (though you could use the E.M.P. shells on 'em)
