Help with using Multiple Texture Files?

O-K! My computer died, but I had backups of my old files so I'll be modding again soon. I have to download Blender, and everything all over again, but whatever. I also need a hand on how to add shapes, just shapes by themselves, to .nif's, and have them properly skinned and show up in-game. Every time I try, the objects that I make in Blender and **do not attach them to an original part of the model**, they vanish in-game.

I was wondering if there is a mod out there that adds a quick melee functionality to Fallout 3, similar to the quick melee function in the Call of Duty games. Something like 'press a button, and you quick slash, as long as you have a knife in your inventory'. If it doesn't exist, how would I go about implementing it?

Hey, to anyone out there: I'm going to try and make a script for this, every time you fire the .600, it cripples your right arm by 5-10%. However, I have no freakin' idea where to start. Oh, and there would be a perk you could pick up to negate this, possibly after 200+ shots are fired...

It uses its own custom projectile, yes indeed! At the moment it uses the Minigun projectile mesh, but is 3 times faster and has about double the impact force. And no worries on the credit part, you did help out after all. :)

Ok, so I'm taking some advice and upgrading to Official Patch 1.7, however the game launches halfway through the setup, and the patch doesn't install. I tried exiting Fallout 3, but it kills the updater anyway. What on earth is going on?

Frame Rate drop after playing for 15 minutes

It happens to me too, I'm still on the 1.4 patch, and I'm a little bit too lazy to update. To me, it seems like the game's cache isn't being cleared completely when the player changes levels/areas, bits of extra data are being left behind and start to take more and more system resources to maintain, even though they're not doing anything. I'm not saying that's what is happening, just saying that it seems like it. -
Is it possible to move the Fallout 3 window, change its position, while playing in windowed mode? The only way I can do it at the moment is if I drag the top bar repeatedly while the game is starting up, before the first slide appears. Though, it's not accurate and if I make a mistake (like dragging the window so far one side disappears off the screen), I can't reverse it without resetting. So, I want to know if there's an easy way to move the window at any time?

Mhmm. Once it's in a reasonable state, I'll need someone to help me texture. I just can't figure that stuff out. Ok, now I need to know how to make a hollow cylinder with thick edges, like a gun barrel or something. Once I know how to do that, I'll add the flash hider/compensator, and a proper, decent reflex scope. EDIT: Never mind, I figured that part out. Now I need to know, is there a way to make the limb that I hit explode every time I get a critical with this weapon?

Zombie Animations Use these to make your Ghouls/Zombies walk slowly. However, when they lunge to attack they do it at full speed, so look out! :) -
Ok, after freaking out a bit earlier today, I decided to start over- this time, with the Sawnoff Shotgun mesh as a base. It now cracks open to reload, thanks to the shotgun base, and overall looks more like a centerfire.

I'm attempting o make the sights have their own NiTriStrips. I tried copying the BssShaderTextureSet from the main pistol, then choosing the texture file I want to use, but none of them load, I'm still left with a white mesh. I dunno if that would even work, but that's the only way I know how to go about it so far. EDIT: Okaaaay, this is weird. I've joined the sight' meshes to the main gun, but whenever I try to project a UV Map, the faces for the sight don't appear. All the other faces, the original faces from the pistol, are there, but none of the new ones. I hate this soooo much, I dunno how you guys do it. I don't know, I just, don't know. I can't do anything. The most I can do is edit a mesh already in place by Bethesda, add a cruddy little sight that WON'T even use double-sided faces, and can't be textured., and I can't create a mesh from scratch because it rotates 90 degrees!! Nothing works!! Gah!

OK, that's all good, now I've got ways to edit the texture. Now, I need to add a texture to my sight, it's there in Nifskope but I can't take a look at the UV map for it without loading a texture onto it, and I don't know how to load a texture onto an original mesh. I have the Mauser's texture in skope just fine, but it's that sight that's giving me trouble.

Thanks for the input. Yeah, I guess I'll change the repair options to itself/vendors only. On the weapon, the clip doesn't exist. I'm just using the Chinese pistol as a base. Later on, I might try to animate a crack-open system, but I'm still very very new at this so yeah... I need to export my UV mesh so I can create my own texture. How exactly...?

Thanks! But I have to say that I didn't start from scratch, I just stretched the Chinese Pistol a bit. A lot. Now, how do I change where the muzzle flash appears? Currently, it's appearing in the Chinese Pistol default place, which is pretty much halfway down the barrel. Also, I need to know how to add meshes to another to create a group. Right now I have two little cubes sitting on top of the barrel, I need to merge them with the body of the weapon.

Err, not quite yet. The only thing I've added for VATS is it costs 35 Action Points for one shot.... :P What would you recommend as VATS values? At this stage, everything's completely negotiable regarding VATS. So you're saying you'd like to see a bunch of large-caliber, one or two-shot rifles and pistols, that do insane amounts of damage? CAN DO. :D However, I'll just... y'know.... finish this .600 first. ---- Thanks for the input, guys! Now, instead of being called a Thompson Contender or Encore, I'll call mine the Thompson Defender .600, I'm pretty sure it should either be hiding in a vault or military bunker somewhere, but I'll probably slack off and add it to a vendor. Probably Flak n Shrapnel in Rivet City. And in weapon balancing news; it's ridiculously overpowered. :) I'm between games, so I had to cheat a lot, but I tested the .600 on those Muties who appear across the Potomac from the Farragut Metro Station... Even of Very Hard, they went down like a sack of potatoes. And some of those shots weren't even headshots! At a Small Guns skill of 100 (Maybe I should make it use Big Guns skill? For the lulz), the Pip-Boy shows its damage at '1195'. Four Digits. So awesome. It has its damage formula set to 'Always Explode' because it's more satisfying. I'm yet to try the .600 against creatures like a Behemoth, and I don't think I'd make it a one-shot kill for those mutants. After all, Behemoths only go around by themselves, what would be the fun in just waiting until it filled 90% of the screen, then killing it instantly? ;) All I can think of with this mod, this weapon, is that it's a shame that the player is so static, there's no leaping, rolling, dodging going on. Imagine jumping around a charging Super Mutant, neatly avoiding his (insert melee weapon here), rolling around behind him and blasting his head to pieces from behind.... *sigh*
