  1. i use the downgrade patcher and have since this whole ordeal started and have no problems. you just have to make sure you download the correct version of the mod your wanting to use--usually in the archive section of the file page. i also have access to the original update including the fishing and all. if you DON'T LAUNCH THROUGH STEAM --- AT ALLL EVER!!! , you shouldn't have a problem with it.
  2. sounds like something going on with survival mode. i dont use it myself and dont have that problem. so might wanna check there first , maybe clean it with SSEdit.
  3. dont know if this will help ---but i never launch Steam to play modded games like SSE and FO4 i only launch through Vortex dont even open Steam and this prevents the accidental update due to lag. this works because you dont ever launch through Steam and therefore never gets checked for updates.
  4. well its not just this post so...ive had posts up for several days with no answer when i know their out there im always looking for SIMPLE advice but it seems that no one knows an answer to any question unless they know eachother . all my post are simple and straight forward. so yea i get pissed and fed up when i see much more complicated questions getting answered all the time even ones posted after mine. maybe i need to complicate things more???????? :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad: :verymad:
  5. StormWolf01 your right about the mods but if they are trying to get permission to port dont they need a PC to port any mod after getting permissions straightend out? it dont really matter to me what they do it just dont really make sense to me , unless they know someone on console that dont have a PC and asking them to port it for them. but from what i gathered thats not the case here. i can understand some of his complaint being a console convert to PC for better mods. like i said no big deal just a little confusing is all
  6. if you go straight to silverlock you wont get access to the archives! you need to search SKSE and LOOK at web results otherwise it will take you to your installed file and wont be able to get the version needed. depending on which patch your using is which SKSE version you want--it should tell you on game launch which one you need. i only rolled back to Ver.1.6.353 so i use SKSE 2.1.5 and still have access to everything. contrary to popular belief you dont need to go all the way back to 1.5.97.
  7. ok i dont know anything about profiles at all ---i dont use them since its only me playing and i got hundreds of gameplay hours with the mods i got installed so i dont worry about it. finis should work either way though if you have it integrated on the skyrim mod page you just need to download it and then it will set up for you then just run the executable.
  8. it might be that your on WIN 11...last i heard Nexus and several other sites are not compatible with it yet---i would try going back to WIN 10 and see if that fixes it. im on the latest version of WIN 10 21H2 and have absolutely no problems with downloads for any game also the error message sounds like its taking to long for your internet to connect and that will cause problems to. i pay out the a$% for my service at 1000Mbps so that might be a factor as well. just giving suggestions that might work.
  9. after thinking about this post a couple days you might be able to report is as a possible terroist funding site since all this crap with russia and the ukrain is going on and with putan threating to use nukes on anyone that he dont like. would get the ball rolling alot faster than just a simple report to anybody else
  10. if you need to edit/add your INI's it is alot easier to do with MO2 than Vortex because you can do it straight from the MO2 page instead of the actual game file and profiles work the same way as Vortex---if you dont want it dont use it. now this is stricktly my opinion but Vortex is for people that have NEVER modded before or dont know how they actually works or just plain lazy. if you never used mods on console you wont understand what im saying about MO2 and console modding is almost identical o eachother and alot easier to make the transition to PC with from console. but if you dont want to worry about proper mod placement and just want plug and play Vortex is the way to go and just download your mods and use the suggestions when a conflict pops up betweem mods. you dont have control with Vortex at all unless you go under manage rules but that is so confusing and can cause MORE problems than its worth this person is coming from console and wants the same setup that they used on console and Vortex IS NOT WHAT THEY ASKED FOR !!!! again if you never modded on console you WONT understand !!!!
  11. yes it does you need to search SKSE in your browser and select web results instead of hitting enter and the first result will give you a link to SKSE archives then you just select the version SKSE you want from there. just remeber that the downgrade patcher isnt a mod you need to open the file outside of your mod manager in order for it to work. if you need any more help just lmk.
  12. and also as a free member you need to sit there the whole time the collection is downloading because youll have extra steps that need to be done durning the DL and that size your looking at at least 3 hours for it to finish.
  13. Vortex actually works fairly well, it also has loot integrated into it, and relies on that for setting load order. The only real difference with Vortex is, you can't just drag and drop mods in your load order, to change it. Need to set a rule for doing so. (which in turn, modifies your loot master list.) For beginners, Vortex works fairly well, and doesn't have *quite* the learning curve as some other managers. But, if you try and install mods that inherently conflict, yeah, you ARE going to have issues, no matter which manager you use. your right Vortex is easy to use. but with them coming from console to PC MO2 would be a better choice for them since its more aligned to what their used to on console , and the LOOT report from MO2 is far better and easier to understand than Vortex (just my opinion). i used console for years and played both SSE and FO4 on them with thousands of hours in them both before i switched to PC and the way the mods load in Vortex is really confusing because it goes against all the rules we learned on console. but when it comes right down to it , its just a matter of personal choice is all.
  14. didnt know they were for console only. my advice is to use the " unofficial downgrade patcher" use the 42nd file under old files and replace SKSE with version 2.1.5 then you still get the cc content and not have to go all the way back to 1.5.7
  15. this is very true and frustrating at the same time because we can no longer get rid of wild edits in mods that have been abandoned.
