  1. Are you sure the house is the right location? Its between Fort Greymoor and Western Watchtower. see here> https://srmap.uesp.net/?locx=-4173&locy=-10228&zoom=16&showcells=true The landscape in the pic looks nothing like vanilla so either you have a mod that moves the house or heavily alters the entire landscape in that area.
  2. Everyone is a beginner at some point. Most people are already playing with a broken game because they don't poke around with xedit to see what mod overwrites what and why. Adding is child flag to xracechild to stop kids from taking dmg is not gonna break anything. skytest settings is probably one of the best mods start learning with as they are mostly simple setting changes. You make it sound like he will permanently and irreversibly ruin his game install. To answer the question at hand. if you want DELETE skytest edits to xracechild you also need to remove anything that uses this keyword "ActorTypeChildren" mostly Child furniture that i saw. If you want to just stop kids from getting killed drag and drop CHILD flag inside of xracechild Record in skytest. xracechild(x = name of race, Nord, Imperial etc...)
  3. Don't let him scare you. The best way to learn is from your own mistakes and testing. At worst you just restore a back up of the plugin or reinstall the mod, that is of course if you are not changing stuff mid play through and making active saves you want to keep. Most of the time simple settings can be can be changed, removed or reverted back to vanilla value without problems, while some things require more then one record that has to be changed for it to work. It just depends on how the mod works and that's what you have to figure out. Might find some info around these forums below. Probably not for your specific question but might improve your comprehension. http://forum.step-project.com/ https://afkmods.iguanadons.net/index.php?/forum/369-knowledge-base/
  4. Engine limitation nothing to do about it. Darker night and dense grass mods just make it more obvious.
  5. Turn off the new snow shader, it's broken and looks like a straight downgrade. all it does is add some depth to landscape snow during the day but at night it becomes super reflective and turns light snow on walls/mountains gray (during day) (Black and reflective at night).
  6. https://bethesda.net/community/topic/10738/skyrim-1-3-update-fix-for-144hz-monitor-owners Skyrim.ini add bLockFramerate=0 is frame limit what you mean? are you sure vsync is still on? one of the updates added a 60fps limit by default.
  7. force Vsync with triple buffering in your nvidia or amd control panel.
  8. AMD fx6300 that cpu is a bottleneck for a gtx1070 other then that you don't give much to go on. I doubt it's a .esp mod causing it, unless you have a massive amount of heavy script or extra object mods added to the outdoors. you can lower shadow resolution to iShadowMapResolution=2048 in skyrimprefs.ini if you haven't all ready. iShadowMapResolution=4096 should increase Gpu usage but lowers fps(i get higher fps in cpu bottlenecked areas), 2048 should increase fps but lower Gpu usage. i get large fps dips with low gpu and cpu usage also but only in certain areas and looking certain directions these are drawcall bottlenecks, from what i understand this is more of a game optimization issue. Sse even being dx11 now still seems to only care about single core performance of a CPU more then having 4+cores to use.
