  1. Hi, I've only just started playing RDR2. I'm interested with the realism of the wild west rather than the Hollywood version. My idea for a new mod would consists of: Piles of horse dung around appropriate places in a town and everywhere :-) Flies everywhere, birds (Buzzards), rats, mice, locusts, drought and other vermin running around biting people and eating crops and some stored food. The sound of animals being slaughtered (I'm a veggie so .... but realism). Horse meat!!! A market selling second hand stuff. An expensive tailors and a labourers tailors in larger towns. People Peeing or more in an outhouse or behind a bush. It doesn't have to be graphic, sound can say such a lot. Venereal diseases. Seek potions/remedies....Let's educate and not shield kids from the truth. Black slavery and how, with a mod this, we can educate and show what historically happened. The American Indians and their struggles. This era of American history is full of awful atrocities by the white settlers against the native American Indians. However it's real history that needs to be replicated by a modder with a soul. Loads more to suggest f anyone can be interested. Peace and love my friends.

  3. Hi all but this is mainly for Oni24, I think it's a great idea. This is a massive project. What skills in 3D modelling, textures scripting etc? What are you commitments? School, college, partner, work etc. Can you commit the time and learning curves? If you're serious and are willing to try and start a 'team' then please read below. I'm an ex AAA video game producer who now only 'dabbles'. I'd be interested in helping out with suggestions, my experience and design skills. I did a quick search for motion captured anims that may be suitable. There a lot of free ones at the site below but no 'skiing' ones that I can see at first glance: http://www.rockthe3d.com/100-best-free-motion-capture-files/ There also other tree/animal/human models and textures from what I can see. cheers Lambar human/animals models at
  4. Howdy Rimmers, I'm a games producer and designer who, has worked for many years on other projects, still wants a mod that features mirrors in a game-world. It can't be that difficult to have a mirror that shows your character and the background surely? Have many other bril mod ideas but need a team. BTW. Still have another mod request re sounds before player is attacked that has little interest, lol, Also be interested to chat to peeps interested in more that just SR mods, i.e. a kick-starter game. Regards.
  5. Hi, I like to play with music off but find I'm nearly always surprised when attacked by anything (especially wild animals). There was a mod for Oblivion that played a heartbeat sfx when a danger was near that provided enough warning to look around and get ready for combat. i.e when the combat music kicks in (but is silent there needs to be an sfx instead but played via the sfx 'channel', not through music 'channel'. Therefore would some genius come up with something for me? A heartneat seems the most logical but it would be nice to have a choice. example sfx that player could choose from: 1. Hearbeat. Possibly getting faster and louder as the danger gets closer. 2. Startled birds. Some birds will cry out to warn others of their species (a british blackbird has a great one). 3. Your char saying something like "Oh, oh", "What's that?, "Did you hear that?" etc.". 4. If technically possible, a sfx that relates to the danger in question, e.g. wolf howls/snarls, human grunts or breather, snapping twigs, leaves/snow/gravel crunching, water splashing if from a water source. Preferably the sfx would gett gradually louder the closer the player is too the danger. When the player moves away the volume should drop accordingly. I'd be more than happy to work with someone on this. I'm an ex-game designer so know what I'm talking about but am not technical. regards, Lambar
  6. Hi, I've just tries "waves" on my sr and it instantly ctd's no mater where I seem to put it in the load order. maybe uninstalling it might help.
  7. Hi fellow Skyrimmer's, First of all I'd like to say how much I love the Elder Scrolls series. As someone who's worked in the video game industry as a designer/project manager it's the game series I'd wished I could gave worked on. In the past I've been responsible for scriptwriting , audio/video/motion capture recording amongst many other things. Unfortunately I wasn't lucky enough to be able to have worked on the ES series but thankfully Bethseda have given us all the opportunity and power to use the Creation Kit to add, improve or totally change the ES series of games. Now we're moved on to SR, with it's improved graphics etc. I thought I'd 'advertise' for a team of modders to join me in creating a few, immersive, useful and believable mods as a team. Just to illustrate the direction I'd like to go... I'm more of a “Let's create a 'Canoe mod', . A set of canoes that can be crafted, and the player can traverse the rivers of SR” rather than the usual, and, in my opinion, boring mods, for example “I've created an enormous sword/gorgeous companion/etc. Therefore I would be grateful, and pleased, if some of the more experienced modders would get in touch to see whether they'd like to work with me on the many ideas I have to improve an expand the SR experience. Here's a simple mod challenge for you guys willing to be involved.... The Giant's Causeway. For those of you who aren't from the UK and may not know, it's a rock structure between Northern Ireland and Scotland that is an amazing sight. Formed out of hexagonal stones (and shown on the Led Zeppelin IV Album cover) it's a real, but fantastic, geological phenomenon. Suggest a google. Salutations. Lambar
  8. Hi, not sure if your pronlem is still persisting but try the fix I found and I posted yesterday. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/674313-nvidia-kernel-driver-ctd/ cheers, Lambar
  9. Hi fellow ES travellers, I've been having a problem with Oblivion and Skyrim for months that has almost made me give up playing them. However after lots of research and persistance I believe I've found a fix for this annoying problem that's not a Bethseda problem. I used to get a black screen, sometimes white that, that for the 1st few times, recovers. Then I get the CTD with an error message saying "nvidia kernel driver has stopped responding blah, blah and has recovered." Here's the solution (which is also safe. No changing BIOS or anything drastic). I sincerely hope that it fixed the issue for you as it was driving me crazy and now I haven't had any CTD since doing this. NVIDIA is aware that some GeForce customers have reported Windows TDRs (timeout detection and recovery) while browsing the web with Release 280 and later drivers. NVIDIA is actively working with customers to address this issue. In the few cases where NVIDIA has been able to reproduce this issue (both on-site and working directly with customers), a complete manual uninstall of the driver and subsequent clean installation of the latest Release 290 drivers using the exact directions below has fixed the issue. We will actively pursue any issues experienced by customers after following the clean installation steps below. NVIDIA Display Driver Clean Installation Steps: 1) Click on the Windows Start Button. 2) Select Control Panel. 3) Select Uninstall a program under Programs or select Programs and Features depending on the control panel view. 4) Double-click on NVIDIA Graphics Driver in the program list and follow the uninstall instructions. Click Restart Now when prompted. 5) After restart, if you have any remaining display drivers stored in your Windows directory, Windows may start to install a different graphics driver. If so, allow it to install the driver and then restart again when prompted. 6) Repeat steps 1 through 5 until the NVIDIA Graphics Driver version is 275.XX or earlier OR until there is no NVIDIA Graphics Driver reported under Programs. N.B. Don't worry about this, just keep un-installing the nvidia drivers until none are present )your screen resoltiion will change). 7) Download the GeForce driver for you from Nvisdia: N.B. Ensure that you get the correct driver for you (Suggest that you let the Nvidia site select your driver for you (it will scan your system and select the correct driver for you). I had a problem half way through the process as I'd downloaded and tried to install the wrong driver, an international driver rather than the one for the UK. http://www.geforce.com/Drivers 8) Although not required, you should probaly disable any system monitoring tools or anti-virus software running in the background as they may sometimes prevent driver files or registry keys from being written correctly during the installation process. After a driver installation has completed, you can re-enable your system monitoring or anti-virus software. To begin the driver installation process, Right-click on the NVIDIA display driver package and select "Run as administrator". 9) Continue to the Install Options page. Select Custom install. 10) On the Custom install page, select the checkbox for Perform clean install. Click next. 11) During the clean installation the driver, follow any requests to restart your PC. 12) After the installation is complete, restart your PC one final time. Note: These steps are only recommended for this issue and are not required for standard driver updates. I'd be grateful to know whether this solves your problems as this should work on any game that's been having the 'nvidia kernel driver stoppped responding and recovered' problem. Please PM me as well as leaving commens on this new forum. I may answer Q's if people need more help, Also, if it does work for you like it has for me, then please spread the word as this will be the only post on the web that I'll make. I know that there's an old post about this problem on here somewhere but couldn't find it. Could someone pls post this message into mthat post if it works for you. If you look at a google re this problem it's happening all over, not just with the ES series but with other games and even videos. Love and Peace Lambar P.S. Please stop blaming Bethseda as they've got nothing to do with the CTD............. this time :-)
  10. Hi Folks, Pls see my other mod requests. As it says on the tin, something similar but bigger and better than the OB arena: Bigger arena/s Team fights Animals/animal companions Traps and other hazards (boiling oil, flame pits, spiked floors/walls etc etc. More complicated betting Cheers leaders I could help as I'm a professional game designer/producer/scriptwriter. regards, Lambar
  11. Hi folks, Please could I make a request for a 1st person horse riding mod (or if there is one already could someone provide a link). In Oblivion I loved riding, but wanted horse combat ala Mount and Blade, and foolishly expected that obvious upgrade in Skyrim. No luck unfortunately. So I would be pleased if anyone could mod this. I could help as I'm a professional game designer/producer/scriptwriter. I also have many ideas for many unique mods for Skytim. Please see 'Sailing in Skyrim'. regards, Lambar
  12. Hi Folks, Please correct me if I'm wrong but Skyrim is a Vikingish type setting? I'm a professional game designer/producer/scriptwriter who would like to create a mod with: Sailing (1st P or 3rd P) by wind and tidal means, depth and other sailing factors involved but not anally tedious more fun sailing but with some thought involved. Strong winds, waves, tides and storms play a big part on when a vogage can start (consult the weather oracle, use your own sailing knowledge (could be learnt through books. training, listening to NPC advice etc or rely on a crew member's advice?) Navigation by the stars/charts/mechanical device/companion or other means Discover new lands, creatures and native flora, fauna and indginus population. Finding interesting flotsum and Jetsum (e.g. new creatures (turtles, dolphins, big octopi, messages in bottles with cryptic directions to new lands/treasure/mythical creatures or floating barrels with stuff in, mermaids etc etc etc) Naval combat (big crossbows on ships, boarding/hand to hand etc. etc) Hit and run attacks on island communities ala Vikings. An island base for you and your crew/soldiers/contraband ala Tortuga Piracy Many other ideas could comefrom this idea e.g. choosing to become a fisherman, a hunter of sharks or other water beasties, a diver for sunken treasure or underwater civilisations etc. Looking for experienced coders/scripters,2D/3D artists, level designers, foley artists (SFX) and any enthusiastic and diligent helpers who might want to learn a few things on the way. If I have any response and was able to form a team then I would start with small targets rather than trying to do everything at once, frustrating but necessary. One step at a time otherwise we all fall over and we go no-where. regards, Lambar
