  1. Maybe. It was one of the two mods I forgot I installed when I had a similar problem having updated to 1.3.10. Once I deleted that one (and another texture mod) the problem went away. Until then I was stuck using 1.2.10. The problem for me (and maybe you) is actually related to a save - if you have "save on wait" and "save on fast travel" enabled, for example. With me the problem also manifested itself on manual save, on entering a new "zone" (e.g. through a door) which triggered a save etc etc. I *had* blamed the texture mod (which was the other thing I forgot I'd installed when I thought I'd deleted "all" the mods and was still getting repeatable crashing) but now the suspicion must fall on this FXAA Injector mod. . In any event: uninstall it / delete it/ get rid of it and see if your problem goes away. If it does, you don't really need to know WHY kit was making it crash, just that it did. If it doesn't solve the problem, uninstall ALL mods (even the ones you forgot about :) and put them back one by one testing after each one. Oh, and I recommend using NMM - and if a mod isn't compatible (with the exception of ScriptDragon and SKSE and similar things of high repute) pass on by ...
  2. I *had* a similar problem - repeatable despite (as I thought) removing all mods and tweaks. 1.3.10 crashed instantly on any action which triggered a save (e.g. fast travel or entering a new area). Previously it crashed at that point only after triggering a quest stage advance, but it was completely repeatable. 1.2.10 was rock steady (I might have the version number wrong - the one BEFORE the backwards dragons, anyway). My solution: a clean reinstall of Skyrim, removing ALL mods (yes, including the ones I forgot I'd installed) and adding back only 'trusted' mods, and then only via NMM. Everything was then rock steady where previously there were instant CTDs. I suspect the problem lay with a texture mod I'd installed early on (or an FXAAA injector thingamajig) which were installed manually;y and I'd forgotten. If you'd asked me if I'd deleted all mods - I'd have said yes: I'd have been wrong. Either that or there was a rogue file lurking somewhere from a deleted mod that was incompatible with 1.2.10. My recommendation: reinstall Skyrim and mod carefully. It is a PITA but if you structure things properly, "just" a couple of hours work, depending on your mods and tweaks. I took the opportunity to re-tweak my nVidia card according to the recommendations on the tweakgide. Personally I blame texture mods: I had a similar problem with FO3. Obviously not all texture mods are a problem (I assume) but some are. Oh - and then there's that ugridstoload problem: don't go messing with that unless you know what you're doing (full instructions to recover are on geforce.com in the tweakguide).
  3. Read the tweakguide on geforce.com. You should be able to use AA: I can on my 460, but choose not to (instead forcing it through the graphics driver).
  4. OF COURSE Bethesda thinks highly of the Modding Community! Without that Community Bethesda would have just some bug-ridden run-of-the-mill play-once-(if you can)-and-forget games that wouldn't achieve their PR hype, sales numbers, financial targets, management bonuses and shareholder payouts. Skyrim got GOTY in a few days because of expectations ... not what was actually delivered. Those expectations were based on what Modders had done for Oblivion, F3, FONV etc etc, not the release-product Bethesda shovelled into the market (and the staggering drop in release quality and quick-fix patches between FO and O and Skyrim is staggeringly obvious). They must also be terribly grateful for all the work their customers put in as a technical support team for fatally flawed products via forums such as this, unofficial bug-fixes etc etc: more $$$ left over for the money man and management bonuses .... One has to give the Harvard MBAs credit: it's a beautifully sick business model :), but it's nothing to do with producing ground-breaking games.
  5. I know this wasn't asked of me, but: No. No, no and no. No. Yes, but it's turned off unless I need to use it. I don't use LinkedIn, an iPhone, Twatter, Flickr, splattr or splutter, except when Nurse fills my spoon too full. I get by just fine :) Yes, I hate Steam for its intrusiveness and because I would be compelled (up to a point) to use it. Of course, in the EU we are protected by good consumer and privacy legislation and we could always return the product if we didn't want to be spied upon (and no, the teeny tiny print in the licence agreement would not prevent that). Yes, Steam is intrusive, but do you remember the Vendor in DragonAge who tried to sell you on-line DLC for REAL money? Now THAT was an outrage. This is, sadly, the way of the world to come. We are losing the war against Stupid, and soon there will be no-one left who remembers how it once was, nor anyone who cares. Stupid will rule. Support the Refuseniks while we're still here .... Love and Peace
  6. This is a fantastic tip. Should be stuck somewhere prominent not buried under pages and pages of <aol>ME TOO!</AOL> nonsense.
