  1. I can't figure out how to change physics settings for SINful CBP. In the MCM on the mod's main tab there's a place to use a preset. I select Firm (the characters' breasts and butts are way too "jiggly"), hit Tab to exit out. The setting stays on Firm for a couple of seconds and then clears. Also, on the breasts and butt tabs I can't change the values.

  2. First, TAWOBA:

So, I got the book for the armor that I want to craft (Ebony) and read it (don't think that's required, but just in case...). But at the forges I'm not seeing the Bikini Armor pieces - just the vanilla Ebony armor. Am I missing something?

    Second, Killer Keos:

During this latest playthrough (just loaded and modded the game a few weeks ago after a few years' hiatus) all of the armors have been the skimpy versions - until I crafted the Ebony Armor - that's the vanilla version. Any idea why?

I'm using CBBE with a custom Physics body, which looks as intended in-game.

  3. Run LOOT and in the upper right hand corner you will see three dots, one underneath the other. Click on that and you will get a menu one of which will be "Copy Load Order" if you click on that it will copy the LOOT load order to notepad.

Unfortunately I do not know how to get that file copied to Nexus forums.

    This worked for me.

As far as "getting that file copied to Nexus forums", simply do the Copy Load Order in LOOT and then paste it directly in to your post in the forum or paste to Notepad (if you want to save the load order for yourself, for instance) and then copy/paste from there in to a forum post.

  4. I'm having some mod issues, so obviously I need to provide my list of active mods, but I'm not sure how to do that, other than manually writing down each mod, and with nearly 300 mods, I'd rather not have to go that route!

    I'm using Vortex.

Does Vortex provide a way to export the list of mods? I looked around in the program, but don't see anything that, to me, indicates it can do such a thing.

  5. You can actually "unmanage" a game by deleting all profiles for it.

Really the only thing the initial "Manage" button did was create the first profile for the game.

Took me a bit to figure it out, but I had Profile Management turned off in the settings. I had to turn it on to be able to delete the game from Vortex.

Maybe a feature request there to be able to remove a game even if Profile Management is off?

  6. Have you looked in this folder for that exe that runs ESO?

    ..\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online\Launcher

And you've tried adding a tool to the dashboard in Vortex that points to either ESO.exe or the ESO64.exe?

I should have mentioned this in my original post: Actually, what I initially did was I searched for "*.exe" in the Zenimax folder. It found, "eso64.exe", "Bethesda.net_Launcher.exe", and a bunch of other executables that were obviously not what I was looking for (uninstallers, C++ redistributables, setups, etc).

I tried both the exo64 and Bethesda.net ones, but neither worked.

    However...

This has really become a moot point for me, as the Nexus site has an abysmal selection of mods for ESO and all of the ones that I downloaded and installed were as old as three years ago. ESOUI.com is actually the best source of ESO mods/add-ons and the mod manager "Minion" is integrated with that like Vortex is integrated with Nexus. So I'm using Minion, now...

  7. Actually, I thought that was a good idea! So I tried it - actually, what I did was create the shortcut and then copied the shortcut's URL to Vortex's Target box for the Dashboard button. When I saw the target text was "steam://rungameid/306130", I was skeptical whether it would work, but I tried it anyway and guess what? I didn't work! :) Got an error about Vortex looking for an executable, which isn't suprising.

    Thanks anyway!

Maybe someone will pop in here who's been successful...

  8. First, I have played the game starting it via Steam, so it runs fine.

I just added ESO to Vortex and added some mods.

I launched the game from the default launcher that Vortex added, but I got a login screen and when I tried to log in it said I need to start it from Steam. When I start it from Steam I'm automatically logged in and I get right to the character selection.

So I want to add a custom launch button to the ESO dashboard in Vortex, but I can't find the executable that Steam uses. I've tried several in the Steam ... Zenimax Online folder and they all brought me to the login screen and the "must launch from Steam" message.

Has anyone successfully set up a launcher button for ESO in Vortex?

  9.

Could her post be taken as a separate entity, made into a new thread and stickied and locked PLEASE?

"His", actually. But no worries - there's no way you could've known that... ;)

I agree, though - I've had to both reinstall on the same computer and transfer to another computer before. Now that there's a written, successful process, I'd be great if the steps could be preserved for future reference and tweaking by the community.

  10. I am glad this worked for you, capella6707.

Vortex should be able to pick up on it if you just copy the whole Vortex directory over to the new system - as long as it is still in %Appdata%%.

Doing this it is, however, crucial to create any customised mod/download directories on the new system in the exact same location before you launch Vortex for the first time there. Otherwise Vortex will assume all mods and downloads have been deleted.

Also, keep in mind that you will have to launch many games at least once (Skyrim for example) through Steam so all the prerequisites are downloaded and installed.

Yes, two key points to a successful migration are 1) exactly mirroring the location of the source computer's programs and 2) running each installed program once before copying over the source folders and files.

  11.

Since I'm not copying my game folder, I suspect it is necessary for me, otherwise it will complain about *a lot* of missing files.

Makes sense in your case. I'm certainly not planning on going through this again any time soon, so hopefully someone will be able to give that a shot.

For mass enable after redeploying everything, couldn't you do a ctrl + a to select all then click enable at the bottom? That still doesn't fix if some are disabled, but it's got to be faster than just clicking through them one at a time even in Wryebash.

Yeah - didn't think of that. I opted for the slow, check-by-check method without even thinking about if there'd be a quicker way.

    Anyway...

SUCCESS!  :woot:

I fired up the game and played for a bit and everything's just peachy!

So, below is the process that I followed. This is specifically for moving a Steam-installed SSE, Vortex, and all related files and tools from one computer to another, with the goal of not having to start a new game - to continue with your saved game(s).

    On the old/source computer
    1. Note all settings in Vortex
      1. Take screenshots of each tab/page, make notes, etc
    2. Note Steam\Skyrim install location
    3. Note Vortex install location
    4. Note WryeBash install location
    5. Note location of all tools in Vortex Dashboard (BethINI, FallrimTools, SSEEdit, etc)
      1. I re-downloaded these tools for the new computer, but they can probably be copied over to the new computer
    6. Purge mods in Vortex
      1. See step 16 below - I'm not sure this is necessary and may have caused some more work
      2. Vortex will say the Bashed Patch is missing masters
    7. Copy full SSE folder in My Games to the backup location
      1. For me, OneDrive was syncing this folder, so on the new computer it was there, but when I started SSE for the first time, the save location was created in C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition, NOT the OneDrive location of C:\Users\<username>\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition. Why, I don't know - just be aware of that possibility
    8. Copy full SSE Steam install folder to the backup location
    9. Copy Vortex AppData folder (C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Vortex) to the backup location
    10. Copy Vortex Mods Staging folder to the backup location
      1. This is the "Mod Staging Folder" path on the Mods tab in Vortex
    11. Copy the following WryeBash folders to the backup location
      1. The "Mopy" folder created in the SSE program folder
      2. The "Skyrim Special Edition Mods" folder at the same level as the Steam SSE folder
    On the new/target computer
    • NOTE: As far as copying the backup folders and files to the new computer, I recommend deleting or renaming the ones created by Steam, WryeBash, and Vortex after installation, setup and first run to eliminate any possibility of files existing in the new computer's folders that weren't there in the old computer's folder
    1. Install Steam to the above location
    2. Install SSE to the above location
    3. Run SSE first time
      1. You just need to get to the launcher so the files are created in the Save folder
    4. Install and run Vortex
    5. Set Vortex settings as noted above
    6. Close Vortex
    7. Copy Vortex AppData folder from the backup location
      1. I deleted the existing one created when I installed/started Vortex
    8. Copy Mod Staging folder from the backup location
      1. These are the uncompressed mod files (30GB for my 270+ mods), so this one will take a very long time
    9. Install WryeBash
    10. Copy WryeBash folders from the backup location
    11. Install/place additional Vortex Dashboard tools
    12. Copy SSE backup from the backup location
      1. Again, I renamed the existing folder that Steam created before copying the backup over
    13. Copy SSE My Games folder from the backup location
      1. On the new computer, starting SSE created save folder in non-OneDrive location: C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition, so I backed that up by renaming it and copied the OneDrive save folder to that location
    14. Since the previous copy tasks will take a long time, ensure all file copying is complete before continuing
    15. Start Vortex to make sure it runs as expected
      1. Ensure that it recognizes the mods that were copied over to the Staging folder
      2. Confirm tools start from the Dashboard shortcuts
      3. Check the Mods and Plugins pages and ensure everything looks okay
    16. At this point, in Vortex, for me, even though all settings files were copied over, I was perplexed to see that all of the Plugins were disabled but the Mods were still enabled. Deploying the mods did not fix this (purging and deploying again didn't affect anything, either). I resolved this by doing the following (this is the method that I followed, there may be a better way to do this)
      1. In WryeBash check all plugins
        1. If you have more than 255 plugins, check 254 and the Bashed Patch esp
      2. Rebuild the Bashed Patch, which will free up plugins
      3. Check the rest of the plugins and rebuild the patch again
      4. Checking back in Vortex, the plugins with checks in WryeBash were enabled and the plugins with pluses in WryeBash were disabled
    17. Fire up Skyrim and pray it works! (It should - it did for me!)

Okay, gotta go play now - on my shiny new Lenovo laptop with 4GB GTX 1050Ti, 6-core i7, 16GB Ram, 500GB SSD and obscene resolution of 3480x2160!

  12. I think I resolved the disabled plugins issue:

I'm sure you've noted that changes made in WryeBash and Vortex are updated as they happen when the programs are open. (Disable a plugin in Vortex and its box is unchecked in WryeBash)

When I first opened WryeBash it was listing all plugins as disabled (unchecked) except the official masters. I was thinking that I should be able to check all of the plugins in WryeBash and then build the Bashed Patch, which will disable any of the plugins that are included in the Patch.

In case it might fix the issue - or at least help, I tried copying from the old computer to the new computer the Mopy folder in the SSE program folder and the /Skyrim Special Edition Mods/Bash folders that WryeBash creates as well. I fired up Vortex then WryeBash, hoping that something in those folders retained the state of the plugins, but that didn't change anything - the plugins were still disabled.

So I checked all of the plugins in WryeBash and built the Bashed Patch. (Actually, I found that I have 263 plugins, so I checked 254 of them, then checked the bashed patch, built the patch, checked the remaining plugins, then rebuilt the patch again). Viola! All plugins enabled in WryeBash, the ones included in the Bashed Patch have a plus in the checkbox, and the plugins are enabled/disabled accordingly in Vortex. Happy dance time!

Unfortunately, at the moment I'm not able to fire up the game to test it (I'm accessing my computer remotely from work - if you tell my boss, I'll deny everything! o_O) I'll be able to test-run Skyrim tomorrow morning, but at this point, I'm pretty confident it'll work. Once I do that, I'll post my final migration steps here.

I'm wondering if Purging the mods prior to copying the folders may have caused this and may not have been necessary. It'd be great if one of you guys that plans on doing a migration as well could try it without purging the mods first and report back on what the plugins look like when they start up Vortex after the folder copy.

  13. Okay, guys. Migration is in progress.

I'm at the point where I started Vortex after copying all of the backup folders over to the new computer.

When I started Vortex, I was thrilled (and relieved) that the Dashboard tools were all there and all of the tools worked. :)

However, things aren't looking quite so rosy for the mods themselves. On the Mods tab, they are all Enabled, but I don't specifically remember what their state was when I Purged them on the other computer. Can someone confirm whether they stay Enabled after a Purge?

The real "un-rosy" part is on the Plugins tab. They are all disabled - even after hitting the Deploy button. I tried Purging and then Deploying again, but that had no effect.

I'm not really sure what to do about that. I certainly don't remember which ones were enabled!

    Suggestions, please!

  14. @NewThalos and MadeUpName92,

Tannin's CSS does what I'm pretty sure you're wanting.

    A couple points:

    1. Vortex won't restart with the details pane slid out (perhaps there's a way to do that, I don't know)
    2. The details pane retains the same functionality:
      1. double-click on a mod's row and that toggles whether the pane is hidden or showing
      2. click on the arrow at the bottom of the box to hide it
    3. The columns resize accordingly with the pane showing
  15. When you go to settings->theme you can create a copy of the theme.

It gives you a bunch of controls to change the most basic things like font size and colors but if you want to make more in-depth adjustments you make them through css.

And no, you should absolutely not change the css in C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex because that gets replaced when you update Vortex, you should create a theme.

    C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex

    Thanks for the info, Tannin!

  16. I'm also getting a new computer and have come up with the below plan. It is my intention to exactly mirror the locations of Vortex, Skyrim and all related folders on the new computer such that I can just copy over all related files & folders and then run the game (installing programs as necessary for proper Windows installation, of course). I have a NAS on my home network that I will be using to transfer files from the old computer to the new one.

    1. On old computer
      1. Note all settings in Vortex (especially Mod staging folder & download folder)
      2. Note Steam\Skyrim install location
      3. Note Vortex install location (I think this is not customizable under normal circumstances)
      4. Purge mods in Vortex
      5. Copy full SSE folder in My Docs to the network drive (OneDrive syncing may put this on the new computer automatically)
      6. Copy full SSE Steam\Skryim install folder to the network drive
      7. Copy Vortex AppData folder to the network drive
      8. Copy Vortex Mods Staging folder to the network drive
    2. On new computer
      1. Install Steam
      2. Install SSE
      3. Run SSE first time
      4. Install Vortex
      5. Install 3rd party tools (WryeBash, SSEEdit, etc)
      6. Set Vortex settings as noted above
      7. Copy Skyrim game folder from the network drive
      8. Copy Vortex AppData folder from the network drive
      9. Copy Mod Staging folder to the network drive
      10. Start Vortex to make sure it runs as expected
      11. Deploy mods (un-purge)
      12. Fire up Skyrim and pray it works!
There are a couple of caveats I foresee to this plan:
    1. If I recall correctly, when setting the Downloads folder in Vortex, it has to be empty - if this is the case, I'm wondering if it would work to temporarily move the archives in the Vortex Downloads, and then somewhere between steps 5 - 9 move them back, or would that be taken care of when the AppData folder is copied to the new computer?
    2. For that matter, if I'm mirroring everything and copying everything over to the new computer, wouldn't the AppData folder hold all of the settings, thereby negating the need for step 6 on the new computer?
Any way you cut it, the more I think about this, the more I'm wondering the likelihood of this even working! But I'm going to try it, since, if it does work, that'll save me from having to reinstall 270+ mods!
Comments on this would be appreciated. It'll be a couple of weeks yet until my new computer ships, so I've got some time to ponder this.
  17.

I then paused ... went back and watched all 4 Gopher Vortex support videos and another support video and everything made sense :geek:

Oh, how I wish that everyone that comes here to complain about how crappy Vortex is would do exactly this.

And if that doesn't help then come here to ASK for help. We're more than happy to help.
