  1. Sure, first you need to install patch 1.9 which should be done automatically by Steam afaik. However if you are on the console, the patch was not yet released for them and it should be in coming weeks. - Beside bug fixes the patch offers new difficulty setting found in Settings right after Master difficulty called "Legendary". It sets the damage modifiers to 0.25 for player and 3.0 for enemies. - Atop of the new difficulty you can make skills Legendary in Skills view (regardless and independent of difficulty setting). When your skill is 100 there will be option in the Skills view to make that skill legendary. When made legendary (after two prompts) the skill is reset to 15, underneath it will appear dragon symbol and all perks in it is returned to you. By that you can advance in that skill again and thus go beyond level 81 and get even more perks and stat points. You do not need to start a new game to use either of these options. PS. It is not possible to have Smithing 101 without cheats/mods.
  2. I actually find the new option very good and perfectly in line with the very free and flexible character development Skyrim offers. The option to make a skill legendary allows you to reach level 81 (or beyond) without having to go for other skills you don't like or don't want to use. It is not free however and you have to start over from 15 and without perks which is very different to Elys uncapper that simply lets you continue over 100. Sure it might not be so sensible from RP perspective but it's gameplay design which is simple and efficient. I personally like it because it removes one of the problems I had in planning my character - there was limited amount of perks and effective level cap depended on skills I chose to use. Neither is the case anymore and I can play as a specialist all the time and still be able to level up without a need to develop skills I don't need or want. Incidentally I find this long term aspect very RP friendly because the game no longer forces you to start being a fighter after your mage skills are maxed if you want to advance futher. I am more concerned about some of the consistency issues with some perks that affect the world and not just player's character. And the legendary difficulty is the same as other difficulties with new damage multipliers: player 0,25 vs enemies 3.0. I found that Master started to be somewhat too easy when you got the best gear and the challenge lessened significantly. So far with legendary difficulty things are fresh again and exciting as the danger is real again. You just have to accept the fact that it is not "AI cheating" but rather rebalancing of incredibly complex damage mechanics.
  3. I would like to humbly ask for a mod that would combine the two stats into one if it is possible. The effect should be that you have health for combat and lets call it willpower combined stamina/magicka stat for everything else be it power attacks, sprinting, warding, casting a fireball etc. If the division into three stats is hard-coded I envision a work-around that would tie the two together so they would be of equal value at all times. Draining one would automatically draining the other whilst the increase in one would also increase the other. It would require either bumping both of them (so you have 200 points by default in both and +20 per increase on level) or halving all the costs to stamina/magicka. This workaround might even be better than outright combination as it would not require alteration of the other mechanics that count on stamina or magicka independently (spells, poisons...). The idea is that the magic is not some abstract property but actually your willpower. The same is true for the ability to keep fighting, running etc. I believe. Combining them together would be a great immersion enhancement for me and perhaps for some others too as the identification with what the stats represent would be greater. Anyway, many thanks in advance to anyone who would find this interesting and be able to make it!
  4. Found something much better in fact including the idea above: http://alexander.sannybuilder.com/?category=script_dragon_plugins&altname=auto_perks_stats_level Requires Dragon Script but that will allow you to use many more great plugins so it's definitely worth it. Especially Tu'umic is absolutely stunning experience!
  5. Hi, I was searching Nexus few months back for this and now again and surprisingly this just isn't anywhere. So here goes my really small mod request (pretty much the topic title says it all though): - Make it so that training sessions per level stack and don't get reset by levelling. Example: If I am at level 3 I should be able to train 15 times. If I train up 12 times at that level and then level to level 4th I should have 15-12+5=8 sessions available and so on. I know I could easily do it by cheating but I'd prefer the mod as I remember these were common in Oblivion levelling mods. Or if there is already such a mod please direct me to it as my search might have missed it. Thanks in advance!
  6. Actually no. 3 is doable. You have to pick the spell or weapon or anything as favourite. And then in the Q menu you highlight that skill and press the number you want to assign it to. Voila, hotkeys are back. Well hidden, but they're there. :-)
  7. Hi, I am wondering which of these three: FOOK, nVamp and Project Nevada would you recommend. Fook2 for F3 allowed me to play through the game and I got quite used to its high quality which there seems to be with Fook for NV (I am currently using). I don't really care as much for more as for better so I don't really care for so much more stuff in nVamp but since it combines so many mods it might be quite interesting gameplay wise. Also Project Nevada seems to be quite popular too but I haven't tried it yet. So which one would your recommend? Thanks.
  8. I do use BAIN, wrye bash, BOSS, OBMM, OBSE, read readmes and I know how things work regarding different types of mods (esps/esms, without them). Really, I am not a newbie (period). Enabling/disabling mods mean for me install/uninstall, boss and bash (plus configure install archive, ini or whatever if needed). Doing the whole procedure as you suggested for the third time (since I did it twice already - see OP and my last post) seem pointless to me. In fact should Bethesda implemented the log system this could be solved instantly (knowing what is the problem). Instead everyone is left blind guessing, assuming and trial and erroring to actual oblivion... Nor obse log or other plugin's logs show anything useful about this problem or why it crashes on actor's death. Thanks for the reply anyway. :-) Yeah, lucky me. :-) I will mayhaps post in there but I doubt it would accomplish much. But since one never knows I may give it a try.
  9. Just for the record I have actually gone through this procedure: 1) complete reinstall of Oblivion (+SI) (+official patch) using this: http://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=240 - the clean patched game was stable and played no problem 2) installed OBSE (+plugins) and other utilities (OBMM, Wrye Bash, BOSS) and DLCs and one mod: Streamline - no problem (game still stable) 3) installed only unofficial patches (UOP, USIP, UOMP, Supplementals) - no problem (game still stable) 4) started to add mods one-by-one using Bashed patch (never two at once) a - COBL: CTD on actors death -> tried disabling Bashed patch (no change) -> disabling COBL solved the problem -> disabling UOP (etc.) and enabling COBL solved the problem b - Francesco's: CTD on actors death and the rest of procedure same as COBL c - tried NOT using Supplementals -> somewhat greater stability but still CTD on actor's death 5) tried ONLY essential mods for me (Realistic Leveling, Francesco's, Progress, Stealth Overhaul, Supreme Magicka) with unofficial patches - CTD on actor's death 6) tried many combinations with unofficial patches - light mods usually didn't have impact (i.e. Realistic Leveling) - bigger mods caused the CTD on actor's death: COBL, Francesco's... 7) radically I disabled unofficial patches and added all my mods I wanted in - game worked like a charm I have no idea what the problem actually might be. The culprit IS unofficial patch(es) interacting with other mods (for me it's almost any other mod) on my system but what exactly it is that makes them incompatible with further modded game I am unable to identify. Even the one-by-one procedure did not reveal one candidate but many and I really cannot play Oblivion with vanilla level scaling so it's clear choice between Fran's and unofficial patches... I do realize there is a million people using unofficial patches without problems but it seems I am that unlucky one for whom it simply doesn't work properly. The thing is even stranger because even though it seems like "overloading" the system my testing revealed that it's very much unrelated to that as configuration with 4 mods (unofficial patches + COBL or Fran's or All Natural or ...) is as buggy as 60+ mods configuration if it includes unofficial patches. And on the contrary configuration of 80+ mods without unofficial patches works like a charm. You can see I really tried hard to be able to use unofficial patches but I am just about giving up to finally be able to play the game. But if you can think of anything that I could try yet feel free to suggest! Thanks!
  10. Actually thanks! I had this idea too about some other mod expecting something not fixed (changed) by UOP. Unfortunately bashed patch doesn't help it and the event when it occurs (every other death of actor) points to some candidates now. I just wasn't sure if it was sensible idea thinking mods are not based on UOP. For other games unofficial patches are usually the base for every mod that follows... Anyway, now I suspect: Francesco's (leveled/loot lists upon death) Realistic Force/Physics (deals with death momentum directly; I even used it in previous config... hm) Realistic leveling (delays recalculation after combat ends = death of actor) Will check back if it was one of these. Sorry but I don't use graphic-hungry mods except BC (apparently unrelated, issue happens in wilderness). And that it's interaction with other mod was hopefully obvious but since my testing turned futile I wanted to ask if there is not some less known UOP incompatibility... I am runnign 68 plugins with some 30 disabled and merged in bashed patch. I believe I am nowhere near the limit. As for the procedure I am aware of it and it is the last resort. Not sure I would be able to pull it through should it come to that as it's time consuming and I rather spend hours of free time playing rather than bug-hunting... but yeah
  11. Hi, I would like to somehow solve the problems UOP (Unofficial Oblivion Patch) is giving me. I recently reinstalled Oblivion using Francesco's (instead of my usual OOO setup) and the problem is the very same thing - crashes on death of the actor (enemies). First time I encountered this behaviour was long time ago on OOO configuration and after disabling/enabling all of the mods all what remained was the UOP... Disabling it and enabling all other mods made the game run much better and without crashes (but for usual very occasional good 'ol Oblivion random CTD). I first blamed the configuration I chose that it simply worked badly with the UOP but recent development made me change this opinion. Simply because a) the mods I used are largely different from previous setup b) I started to use wrye bash with BOSS to eliminate conflicts in installation and load-order c) again narrowing down the problem disabling various mods ended up with UOP to blame. I use UO Supplementary but that made no difference (didn't use that on the old setup and the problem was the exact same). I tried really anything from game settings, ini tweaks, compatibility mods, various obse based crash prevention dlls etc. No success. Again I did whole (and painful) enabling/disabling procedure with rebuilding the patch everytime. Only to remember at one point I did experience it before and in mid of the process I tried removing UOP. Voila, problem solved. This time however I even figured out what seemed to cause the trouble - (actors) death items - in the bashed patch. Removing that option from bashed patch somewhat helped but it didn't solve the problem entirely (unlike removing UOP altogether). So what am I after? The solution obviously how to use UOP with somewhat heavily modded game and not crashing in every fight because of it. I am clueless as how could I solve this other than just not using unofficial patch(es). I am no newbie in this, grasped wrye bash fine and solved several problems I had already but this one seems to be too tough. Any ideas? Thanks! PS. Below are my specs and current load-order (not that it would be very relevant to this I guess).
