  1. As the title says, there was a mod that was a dummy plugin for USSEP, but I went to check on it and it says it was deleted. Any reason why?
  2. Nevermind about xLodGen, doing some more searching tells me it's interchangeable with running xEdit with the -tes5 and -lodgen parameters. Still not sure about DynDOLOD, though.
  3. I've finally been starting to get the hang of using xEdit and I want to automate certain tasks like running the LODGen programs. But I'm not sure if the standalone application or running the similarly named xEdit files are what is supposed to be done. Is one of them out of date, or are both interchangeable?
  4. Anyway, good to see that the new release date isn't too far from mid-March. I'm looking forward to experiment with mods on a much better programmed version of the game.
  5. Why does everyone keep being so snarky when people ask about the release date? Giving them s*** when they ask does nothing but piss them off, and doesn't actually help them be patient at all; blaming their impatience on why games are a bit crap nowadays is a bit hyperbolic and just plain rude. I can understand the frustration at the constant questions, but taking it out on them is just silly.
  6. Unless you mean the one way back in December, there's no update, I'm afraid.
  7. This is a great idea, but what do you mean by entitlement?
  8. My apologies, UFB, I wasn't meaning to be critical of your corrections of minor points. I was just expressing the source of my general frustration, that I have to admit has been building since I was a game developer in the 90s (and in those days, it was the publishers that didn't understand development, estimates, and so on). Ah, gotcha. No hard feelings.
  9. And as a professional developer who deals with the vagaries of estimates every day, it is very frustrating to see people who don't do development get picky about a rough estimate given three months ago, about when a beta might be ready. You do realize that when I said "minor points", I meant what I said in that post (the length of time of 3d printing and the motivations and attitudes of trolls), not the ETA about SKSE64, right? I was just making very minor corrections on Namelessnobody's post advising people to not be so impatient. Please calm down, no one's trying to rush them in this thread. We all get that it'll probably be a while until they can release the beta (and for what it's worth, they said that the beta would be as feature-complete as the full version; at most the only difference I'd expect after reading that was a few bugs being fixed, some minor and some moderate. But as you said, it's just a beta, not the complete version of SKSE64.), and frankly, getting mad at anyone who asks about the release date does as much as those asking in the first place; nothing.
  10. I'll admit that this is just nitpicking, but trolls just do things to anger people; the actual trolls (meaning not the actual butthurt people out there, or the people asking about the project without intending to piss anyone off) wouldn't care and keep saying stuff to get people mad. And while I'm nitpicking here, 3D printing takes hours to actually print the object; even that requires some patience. I'm not trying to undercut your point, though; there are some folks that either don't realize or don't care that software development takes a long time to make, even something as relatively "simple" as a script extender. I'm just pretty pedantic and can't seem to let even minor points go.
  11. The only thing I actually disagree with here was the stability of the console version; they didn't have access to the unofficial patches. Mods sometimes screw up and break, sure, but that's why mod authors tend to update their mods with bugfixes, and if they can't or won't someone else would take up the torch.
  12. If you want to call a brief disagreement and only three posts with random crap "trolling", then alright, that's your decision.
  13. From the wording and phrasing used, yeah. Agitated is putting it mildly. It's since been removed but there was a comment I spotted a couple of days back elsewhere demanding it be released as "it's probably been done for ages" and that the team are just being scumbags by holding it back. Topic had a few similar posts and a "DDOS silverlock until they tell us something" threat posted until one of the mods there canned the entire thread. Obviously not how it is everywhere, most places are being better behaved about it (like here) - but there is the usual crowd of impatient noisemakers waiting in the wings and squawking now and then still. Yikes, now I get why people are a bit touchy about people asking about ETAs over here...
  14. Which is what is usually done by the script extender crew. The mid-March comment was a hopeful prediction, made because people asked. It was not something meant to be taken as set in stone. So there's no need for people to get agitated and short fused (which I have seen in various places) over this. I'm not going to say that they made a complete confirmation about it (since they didn't), but they estimated a mid-March release. I'm not going to laser-focus on that time period, but it was a somewhat solid frame of time, 2-3 months after that announcement was made. And it was likely that they were already working on it before, since the Special Editon came out in October; obviously they didn't use all their time developing it, but 5 months of dev time seemed like a fair enough development time. I'm not all that bothered by the mid-March timeframe seemingly being incorrect, but it doesn't seem farfetched for the general public to think that they would be pretty close by now. It wasn't solid, but it at least seemed long enough, considering they have extensive knowledge in this sort of thing, and it's their second attempt at a 64-bit script extender (F4SE, although that second attempt could also be reasoned that it's precisely why it could take a while: this is only their second go-around in this 64-bit iteration). I doubt anyone was really upset, more just disappointed that it's probably not coming as soon as we thought. And are you sure that people were agitated and short-fused? Because if this thread is any indication, it was probably just incessant curiousity. I never bothered going on the reddit thread though, and I know by experience that Reddit has some salty users.
  15. So we're just shitposting for now, then? Alright.
