With the help of Exalerion I've figured out this is what happens when you hit the limits of your GPU. I've been trying to install too many pretties and my computer just can't handle it and has a heart attack. lol So if anyone else ever has this issue, you'll need to sacrifice some texture mods or at least tone them down to 1K. And I'm going to try the performance version of this ENB too. Afterall, I still have to be able to play the game. :)

Hi I recently started installing a fresh Skyrim setup using the STEP guide. And I've chosen a new ENB, Real Vision ENB for Climates of Tamriel V by Exalerion http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73661/? It's a beautiful ENB and I've installed most of his recommended graphics and texture mods found in step 2 of the instructions. I'm fairly certain I've followed both the STEP guide and Exalerions ENB installation guide word for word and step by step. I've been playing a modded Skyrim since 2012 and I've never run into this issue before. It doesn't cause instant CTD, rather I can run around and fight, open menus, etc. for a minute or two and THEN it crashes. I've done extensive testing and can only reproduce the problem in the area between Whiterun and the Guardian Stones outside Riverwood. So I think it may be isolated to that area. Inside dungeons and cities is fine, and I've also fast traveled to the Rift and the Pale and no bugs or crashes there. I've tried disabling my mods one at a time to find the problem. At first I thought it was Realistic Water Two, since that was the last mod I had installed most recently when I first noticed it. Disabling that has no effect, it still happens. Then I thought maybe my multiple grass mods weren't playing nice, so I disabled them. Still happens. I turned off ENB in game using Shift + F12 and the bug still happens even without ENB on! SOO....does this mean its an .ini file I screwed up? I've followed the instructions given for my skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini and the enblocal.ini and I've got the SKSE.ini configured for the memory patch. It's definately not a memory issue I've checked the logs. I must have installed something wrong along the way. Here's my mod list that I was following from the RealVision ENB for Climates of Tamriel page. I installed everything in this order and followed the instructions in grey. I stopped after Watercolor for Realistic Water Two and ENB because that was when I first noticed the black cube bug show up. Still not sure if its a mod causing this or the ENB or some ini file I screwed up. No I am not using Real Vision by Skyrim Tuner. I am using Real Vision for Climates of Tamriel by Exalerion. http://nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73661 They are two different ENBs. His is specifically designed to work with Climates of Tamriel V It's a good thought. But I DID follow the installation instructions Exalerion provides and got the correct binary that was linked on the ENBs page. Anyways I don't think its the ENB at all. This glitch still happens even with ENB disabled. :(

Hi I started installing a new setup for Skyrim and I'm experiencing a graphics bug I've never seen before. After extensive testing and removing recently installed mods one by one I still can't isolate the problem. The bug tends to happen outdoors, near the waterfalls around Riverwood and Whiterun. Water, smoke, trees, and most objects turn into solid black cubes or pixels. But I can still see and move my character and or open menus for a few seconds/minutes before the game crashes. I haven't been able to reproduce the crash indoors--only outside near water. I disabled ENB using shift + F12 and it still happens, so I don't think my ENB is to blame. However I am trying a new ENB, Real Vision for Climates of Tamriel V by Exalerion. I followed his installation instructions to the letter, and I have some experience with ENBs, having used the original Real Vision, Grim and Somber Azura, and Snapdragon Prime before without issue. When I began my new setup I wiped my Skyrim local content and started with fresh pure vanilla goodness, following the STEP guide for Mod Organizer users. I installed about 50 mods before I noticed this glitch. I do of course run LOOT, and clean dirty files with TES5Edit, all the good stuff. I have a hunch that Realistic Water Two may be the culprit but I've used it before and never had an issue.
