I hate the new design, it looks like some crap that I'd expect on a tablet. I'm adding this comment because I saw that someone posted something along the lines of "There are x million users and almost none of them are complaining so the new layout must be fine." More likely, most of those users just don't care to post their opinion. Lastly, please switch back to the old layout, or at least allow us to check and choose a preference in our account info for which layout we'd like to be using.
