  1. I hope the new companion is not a teenager who will be used as a link between 'Doctor Who' and the spin-off series, 'Class'.

Well... Pearl Mackie. Not exactly who I had in mind. But to be honest, at first I did not like Donna either.

This is the short version. The long version is that after 200 hours of gameplay that felt like playing an MMO with a predictable story that had very few surprises or revelations, I simply lost the drive to finish the game.

When somebody spews too much hate towards the staff, but has never had a formal or informal warning, a quick background check usually reveals that we are dealing with a 'returning unwelcome visitor'.

...skin cream. The bleakest finding was that the more advanced that people's math skills were, the more likely it was that their political views, whether liberal or conservative, made them less able to solve the math problem.

The apropos of this quote is that I encountered the same irrational behaviour today in connection with a controversial topic. How quick certain people are to forget the "innocent until proven guilty" principle when they face a subject that trigger...

In Kahan's experiment, some people were asked to interpret a table of numbers about whether a skin cream reduced rashes, and some people were asked to interpret a different table -- containing the same numbers -- about whether a law banning private citizens from carrying concealed handguns reduced crime. Kahan found that when the numbers in the table conflicted with people's positions on gun control, they couldn't do the math right, though they could when the subject was skin crea...

I'm not sure why you would not feel welcome here unless you are one of those who take free hosting and free exposure to a large player base for granted. This site has always been supportive of modders, but they are still required to observe a few simple rules. When those rules are violated, there are consequences. It is a simple 'quid pro quo' arrangement.

... and I'll be a little blunt. Being a member here is not a right. It is a privilege. This server is private property. You pay nothing. And when you pay nothing, the amount of entitlement you have is equal to the amount of payment you made.

Clarification: many people come to this free site, and expect to be provided services/support as if it were a pay site. One obnoxious twit threw a hissy fit because'we deleted her screenshots but, according to her, there were a lot of other screenshot of the same kind, and we should delete those too. When I explained to her that the staff was small, and we deleted what we found and what other members reported, she told me that 'this is your problem'. Now let me get this straight, ...

It is not my job to babysit your screenshot collection. I am responsible for ensuring that the users of this site comply with the Terms of Service. Saving or deleting screenshots from your own computer is your responsibility. Do not blame me for deleting the only copies of those screenshots - you should not have uploaded them in the first place. That is, if you had read the rules.

I think authors of "realism" mods do not really make the game world 'realistic' rather they transform it to be more like our own Earth. Sykrim is unrealistic and inconsistent per se: a frostbolt will slow you to a crawl but spend half a day in cold water and you'll still be as spry as an athlete who is ready to win the Olympic games. Or the famous arrows? It's not just that you can take an arrow in the knee... you can walk around like a living pincushion and still you ...

The influx of 'realistic' mods is funny. Some of them do not even live up to what their name suggests, some of them are very good, including the Realistic Wolves mod, but honestly why should wolves on a different planet look the same as our Terran wolves? (The author of that mod, however, did a very good job - I will certainly use his mod: not because of its 'realism value', but because I like the look of his new textures). Are humans becoming so earth-bound these days that if...

  16. Food for thought: "When you go into court you are putting your fate into the hands of twelve people who weren't smart enough to get out of jury duty. -- Norm Crosby" and ""We... settled out of court. The way the system appeared to work to me was... Lady Justice had the scales, and you piled cash on the scales. And the one that piled the most cash on the scales and hired the most experts and the ones most willing to tell the biggest lies... that was the winner. That's.....

that seems to be how our justice system functions now. It's terrible. It's ....terrible. How can a farmer defend himself against a multinational corporation like Monsanto?" -Troy Roush, Vice President of the American Corn Growers Association, commenting on how Monsanto uses legal action to bully farmers into settling when they are accused of "stealing" Monsanto's IP (genetically modified seeds). I doubt it myself, and if I wanted to throw something worthless at it, I would pick our local currency, which seems to have taken a dive, even compared to the Euro, and has not hit the rock bottom yet. (In fact, if it continues to plunge any deeper, it might pop out on the other side in China).

He (I prefer talking about my parrot as 'he' instead of 'it') was a sweet bird, he even used to 'talk' to my mother: I put my mobile phone in front of his cage, close to the bars, and he came to listen to my mom's voice, knocked on the phone's screen with his bill and made funny noises...

That's it. I cannot bring myself to play DA2 again so no play-through as a rogue. Maybe I will return to it when there are enough mods to spice up the game. Considering that there were enjoyable moments, my money was not fully wasted but a bargain bin purchase would have been more reasonable. I think I'm going back to Fallout/Oblivion until The Witcher 2 and TES V are released.
