  1. Hi, I'm looking for a way to put a custom starting class into the game. I found a couple guides on the web, but some of their included links no longer work. Can I get some help, please?
  2. I'm optimistic. I just hope that Bethesdas updates don't break my saves. In the past I had dragon spawning issues and I think it was caused by the updates.
  3. Just cruised part of Helgen. Shadows are smoothed and rounded out. The walls aren't shimmering anymore. Good, good. I'm not really knowledgeable on this, but textures seem to be at low resolution. Some of the meshes are blocky, but some aren't that previously were (furniture). I looted the torturer and got his hood, so it can't be just graphics improvements. Interesting. They'll probably update it. Cool.
  4. Every few feet that I walk wolves, skeevers and other jerks want a piece of me. That makes sneaking outside really really difficult. I'm not just talking about random spawn points. Locations are only a few feet away from each other. You might understand my frustration better if you read my story. At halted stream camp there is a secret door in the wooden wall. I was atop a hill preparing to move in to assassinate all the bandits by sneaking through the wall and backstabbing them. Pretty cool. Just when I was about to move in some randomly spawned jerk comes out of nowhere, runs through the fort and up to me bringing every bandit with him. He threatens me and orders me to hide an item for him and runs off. Then another jerk comes up and asks me if I've seen the first jerk. My entire assault plan was ruined! I think I threw my xbox controller. Skyrim is pretty and all but it's really small. Skyrim to me is like Hyrule to Link in an old Zelda gameboy game. Anyway I think one of the best ways to make a bigger better skyrim is to have world generation tools for Fallout/ Elder Scrolls games. Something capable of carving rivers, planes, hills, mountains, ridges, caves, passages, etc. Nothing fancy but something that could cut the time of creating dungeons and other places. Mountains and plains could have little lumps and ripples on them and stuff. Modders could generate the terrain and then polish it by hand. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.
  5. This is a complicated subject and, in my opinion an important one. I am interested in overhauling skills for skyrim and other Beth games. My thoughts: 1) Actor Values, Skills, and Abilities. Skill Level should modify actor values and perks should NOT. Perks should unlock new abilities and NOT modify actor values. I think perks that modify actor values in the vanilla game are boring and an annoying necessity. I could be a level 50 archer but do almost no damage without overdraw. It makes the game less immersive. 2) Complementary Skills I want to create a skill called Warrior. Each time you gain combat xp a small percentage of that is also added to the warrior skill. The warrior skill improves all combat values just a little bit. The idea is that learning how to use one weapon can help you understand other weapons; how to swing block and craft them. The bow would not fall under combat. I would also create a skill called Mage which would be a little different. 3) Making New Skills I know that making new skills is almost impossible so I want to combine some skills. Light armor, heavy armor, and maybe block would be combined into the Armor skill. ...That's what I would do anyway. I am somewhat experienced with general modding but no expert. I know that some people have scripted skills but they're not perfect. Anyway let's talk about this!
  6. I am new to papyrus. Some of the psc files extend hidden "forms" and do nothing else ;like action.psc. Can I get some help understanding this, please. Where are these hidden "forms" and why are they hidden. Thank you!
