  1. Heyo everyone, I posted this here on the spoilers area because I didn't want people to see the question I'm about to ask lol. Do you guys know if bound armor, cuirass or what not exists in the game? Reason I'm asking is i'm master conj, and I still don't see the spells available anywhere. Also I did hear about how there were special spells you can learn as a master through quests, so I'm hoping if its not in now, that it will be >.>. I've loved bound gear since morrowind, and skyrim is the FIRST elder scroll to make it look unique (not a daedric rip off) lol. In fact it reminds me more of dragon age like magic. Now, I know some people hated bound spells due to the fact that they were a little over powered lol. I think they did a good job making that not the case in skyrim. Its kinda a pain in the ass in the middle of a fight if your sword just disappears while your in mid swing due to end of duration lol. Either case if no bound armor exists in the game, I beg the modders to make it ; ;. I think there's some monsters...ugh what's the name, that looks spectral enough to match the bound look. Wonder if I could dive through the bsa files and find there armor....hmm interesting lol. I can't wait for the construction set. Either case, i'm loving this game to tears. Thank Akatosh its finally here!
  2. Heyo, I agree this is probably the ugliest looking armor in the game, but is one of the most powerful for the magic speced Geralt. I second a mod for this :D.
  3. Heyo, Well there's a plugin for blender that at least lets you "import" w2ent files, and modify them. Now we just need a way to export it to w2ent >.<. Check out my post here: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/388891-finally-a-plugin-for-blender-for-w2ent-files/page__p__3201576#entry3201576 A for unpacking the dzips that's easy, see here: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/how_to_unpack_the_pack0_dzip_for_modders/page1
  4. Heyo, Nicely done! Looks great, yeah hopefully the author will make an exporting script as well. For some reason I thought he already had included one. Didn't realize it until I looked further. Well at least someone figured out the w2ent files.
  5. Heyo again, Well I mainly tossed those pictures up because they had the eye scar similar to your pictures. Not really a good angle to see the scar, but that's the best I could find on short notice. The modder who uses that model is Suhoi72, and I think he's Russian. When he was asked about the model he got it off this site: http://anvilbay.ru/files/witcher/ Tons of stuff on there, so who's to say. If you've seen the awesome race mods the Japanese have released on Shyupload, then I'm sure other great mods exist out there. Though I would love to see a rogue like character such as the artwork you posted. There's always been a lack there of concerning male mods in general.
  6. Heyo, Well some bad news on the plugin, turns out it doesn't export. Though I'm sure the author will figure out how to do this, seeing as he was able to construct an importer. So i'm guessing that perhaps we will need another conversion tool if the author isn't able to construct an exporter.
  7. Heyo everyone, I take no credit for this, I was just referred to this from another board. I tested it, and it works great! I don't think its finished yet, but still lets you import and export w2ent into and out of blender. Make sure you register to see the newest version of the plugin: http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6660 Enjoy and happy modding! :D
  8. Heyo everyone, Check out the link here if you want a plugin for blender for importing/exporting w2ent files: http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6660 In order to get the file you have to register on those boards, well enjoy and happy modding :D
  9. Heyo, So, I've seen a race that looks similar to that, especially with that scar. I don't know where its from, and most likely its a private mod. Though I do know its based on Geralt of Riva, from the Witcher :D. Check em out: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/38031-2-1302752415.jpg http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/38325-4-1304595120.jpg
  10. Yeah its wierd, I converted geralt_eyes.xbm to dds and altered the color. Then I repackaged it and put it in CookedPC (where geralt's stuff is located), and his eyes showed up all blue in game lol. I even made sure I had geralt_eyes_s.dds in the folder to. I found the eyes under: characters/player/model/head Though I'm not sure if this is what is needed to actually mod his eyes, cause again they showed up all blue.
  11. Crap sorry guys, looks like this program only decodes w2strings, bah. Here I thought someone had found a way to decode w2ent files >.<. Please disregard this topic.
  12. Heyo everyone, I was just curious if anyone figured out how to use this for decoding w2ent: http://www.witchernexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=52 For instance I was trying to decode filippa.w2ent, and because i'm using win 7 x64, i have to run the command lines in dos. So i get to the folder with Gibbed.RED.Strings and I try the command line: Gibbed.RED.Strings.exe -d filippa.w2ent To make matters easy I put the filippa.w2ent file in the same directory as Gibbed.RED.Strings, but no matter what variation I try it just gives me error messages. The poster of red tools put this: Gibbed.RED.Strings [OPTIONS]+ input [output] So...I'm not sure exactly what that means except obviously Gibbed.RED.Strings.exe and the option being -d for --decode + the input which is filippa.w2ent. On top of that I even typed out the entire file path for the input like C:\Program Files (x86)\Gibbed's RED Tools\filippa.w2ent, and all it yeilds is errors. So any help would be appreciated, so I can finally get to modifying the mesh files.
  13. Using the same scripts found here: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/how_to_unpack_the_pack0_dzip_for_modders/page1 You want to use w2_dds2xbm.bms and make sure when you select files select both the dds and the bin file. That script should combine them together into a xbm.
  14. Hmm, that looks cool. That could definately work. Still wouldn't mind toying with the one I have though. The graphic quality of the current file is like 128x128 resolution, if upded to say 2048x2048 that would be some sexy looking armor. Now I just need help making the spell animation graphics, or finding a way to use what's already available in other mods such as midas's magic.
  15. Heyo everyone, Just wanted to say first off hand that this is the first topic I've made on these forums. I checked everywhere to make sure I was posting in the right place, and used the correct context. If I was still mistaken, my apologies. Well on to the fun stuff. So for the longest time I wanted to make some kind of custom mod, mainly just to have fun with my own personal character. I'm very limited in what I know or am able to do in modding, and the use of the construction set. So to make it brief I posted a request for help, and feed back on here. My Idea is simply this: The name of this "profession" would be the Le'thereon (Lethe is one of the rivers of Styx in Greek mythology that erases a souls memories and it Greek it means "oblivion" lol.) To create a custom class that uses "dark energy". I wanted to achieve this not only with magic, but with the outward appearance of the basic class armor. Obviously oblivion is one of those "classless" game, but you still have a "focus". So obviously if you had a person who focused in perhaps "conjuration", would basically be a Summoner. I haven't yet created the back story for this "magic" or for the profession itself. Though I have searched and searched for a mod like this. I got a very small "lick" of a taste of this in Midas's magic mod, which still blows me away at how many unique spells he created. After taking a look at his mod in the construction set, I see its not as hard as I thought. Dark Energy Spells: So I guess on with it....Well here goes. To be more specific there's a couple spells I'm looking to make, and trust me I wouldn't be asking for everyone input if this was easy. I want to create "black energy" graphically to use with my magic as well. The two main spells I'm looking to make is black energy that you can use as a weapon, and an aura of dark energy. For the black energy as a weapon, I experimented with using a bound weapon spell similar to midas's bound weapons. That worked out pretty well. An alternative to that would be to some how "ignite" the weapons with the dark energy. That way you could still use a weapon of your fancy or a ranged one as well. The other problem I have with the dark energy being used as a weapon, is I want it to deal "unique" dmg. I don't want the dmg to be fire/lightening/ice/drain/poison. I just want to basically create a "dark element". The aura of dark energy is a tad different. The point of the aura is to drain life from any attack that hits you. So its kind of a reverse drain, that also nullifies the damage you take, while the attacker still looses there life force. So its like say you take 20 dmg, but at the same time are healed for 20 life, and the attack would take 20 dmg. In a sense a mixture of reflect damage, drain life. Still not sure how the aura of dark energy should look. Dark Energy Armor: There's plenty of evil looking armors out there, but I wasn't sure I wanted some kind of heavy armor. My basis of my idea so far was this: (keep in mind the armor in the screen shot is from another game, and is probably 128x128 res, IF that): http://img443.imageshack.us/f/thereon02.png/ Which I have broken down on my computer as dds. I myself don't have the skills to be able to rig, create bones, and lol UV spectrum (i failed horribly at trying to mess with dds files, and had no idea about vertices, UV skin and such even after 20 different tutorials, yes even the youtube tut on importing armor to 3DS max) . This is the part I'm probably the most limited with, since I was never able to successfully convert an existing mesh or texture into nif format. So if anyone wants to help here's the files: So let me know what you think, and I guess I'll go from there. Here's some more screen shots: This could be what it could look like while casting/summoning the dark energy: http://img833.imageshack.us/i/thereon05.png/ This is what I was thinking for the dark looking aura, or at least a start of casting it: http://img62.imageshack.us/i/thereon06.png/ Here's some more images of it: http://img34.imageshack.us/i/thereon04.png/ http://img248.imageshack.us/i/thereon01.png/ http://img213.imageshack.us/i/thereon03.png/ So i've posted this on another forum, but had no luck from anyones input even. I really need help doing the texture/mesh work, but I'm willing to try and learn how to do it myself. I got basically all the programs at my disposal, its just making a custom mesh/texture isn't easy. I'm planning to make this a armor/magic and story mod. Don't got much experience, so this is probably gonna be a huge project. Please let me know what you guys think. I also take no credit for these mesh/textures. Simply looking to import them into oblivion. Mmm k. Messed around with blender and such. No idea how this turned out, but was able to view it in one piece in nifskope. Progress I guess. Still don't know enough about messing with mesh, and textures. I'm guessing in the problem is the size of it, in relation to a regular oblivion size character. Also i'm guessin the axis of where it stands are off. Why do I think this? Because when I imported an oblivion body it was like spun around, and was sort of adjusted in a different default position. I basically need someone to verify this. I'll toss up another rar with all the files I guess. Please if anyone can let me know how it looks at least. Its far from done, I just want to know what progress I made lol. Here is the file: As for my more solid idea behind this conceptually, I think I was able to finally figure it out. This is probably not going to be something a starting character would know, because in order to utilize the Dark Energies, you would have to be a master of magic (or at least a master of a certain style/type/category). Let me explain why. Using this power basically takes energy from the most basic fundamental levels and breaks it down until all that's left is dark energy. You could say all energy that exists can be broken down as such. So a wielder of this magic is able to do that to some degree. I'm sure the speed, and accuracy of it will be dependent on the skill of the user. The more I thought about this, the more I liked it. Unless you can get your hands on pure energy, its pretty hard to just create it on your own. If you could do it on your own, you would basically have to be using two spells at the same time. One to be the energy source, and the other to convert it into dark energy. That's basically how it works. So I would say this specialty of magic makes you practically a beast vs anything that uses magic energy or is "made" of magic energy. The Le'thereon can simply manipulate that energies, and draw out all of what is required to "lay waste" to all that stand before it. Guess next I'll think of a more a story to it.
  16. Heyo everyone, I was just curious if anyone would be interested in seeing this kind of armor mod. I'm not skilled enough in modding to create it, despite my many attempts. This is unique enough in the way it looks that I think i'd add to the diverse collections of oblivion armor mods. Here's an artists drawing of the base concept: http://www.staronion.com/maiev/img/lurazeda_ffxi_fanbook_blu.jpg What it looks like in game: http://aggromagnet.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/blumage61a.jpg If anyone is interested in this please let me know. I'm have attempted at making textures for it, but I've failed at making a mesh. I can provide who's ever interested in this request textures that I have. Just let me know what format you prefer it to be in. I think the hardest part of this armor would probably be the helm/mask because of the clipping.
  17. Holy crap! Yeah that's probably the most epic looking elf mage or even arcane warrior armor for females i've yet to lay my eyes upon! Yeah gotta love warhammer art.
  18. Yeah sferzar gotta love that leliana armor. Well I made a request for this armor here: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=180785 Here's a sneak peak at it: http://social.bioware.com/uploads_project/project_gallery/2000/1874/874/2668.jpg You can also check out my bioware request for it: http://social.bioware.com/project/1874/
  19. Heyo everyone, I'm looking for help on converting this nif file to a usable msh, and model in dragon age. I'm still new to doing modding, but I have access to 3ds max 2010, blenders, and all other conversion tools. My biggest problem is I don't have the knowledge of how to successfully make a new msh, mao, mmh, and linked dds files. I know how to convert a nif with nifscope to an obj file, import to either blender or 3ds max. Create a fbx file; then with tapazins, make a mao msh, and mmh file. I've tried to use i/otools in blender to replace an existing mesh in order to make a new one. From all the tests I tried the file would just come out as that same model with a different mesh. I know how to edit mao files to reflect dds file names. So I either need someone to do most of the hard work, which is probably making the fbx file usable to convert properly into a msh file. Or some info on exactly how to do it in non complex terms lol. I'm by no means a programmer, just a fan interested in trying to figure out modding . Here's some screen shots of the oblivion armor: http://social.bioware.com/uploads_project/project_gallery/2000/1874/874/2667.jpg http://social.bioware.com/uploads_project/project_gallery/2000/1874/874/2668.jpg If you want any more info on this, check out my request at bioware: http://social.bioware.com/project/1874/
  20. Raughnut! Your hair mod is awesome! lol no endorsements, your crazy lol. Nero owns lol. I've been trying to convert tons of oblivion mods of dmc to dragon age. At least you got one down :P. In case your curious of what I've toyed with: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21546 http://tesnexus.com/downloads/images/21546-2-1229954001.jpg http://tesnexus.com/downloads/images/21546-1-1231088563.jpg http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21724 http://tesnexus.com/downloads/images/21724-1-1239706054.jpg http://tesnexus.com/downloads/images/21724-2-1230826373.jpg And by far my fav: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21833 http://tesnexus.com/downloads/images/21833-1-1231256618.jpg
  21. Don't give up man! So far your work is far more unique and brilliant the most the armor mods i've seen out there. Your pretty much making a custom model that isn't even in the game! Not only that its f*#@in fire-emblem lol. Just for that reason you should finish it @_@. Or at least see if someone can take a look at your files and fix them. I suggest talkin to some of the modders i listed before, and see if they have any sucess on what you can't complete.
  22. http://tesnexus.com/downloads/images/26592-1-1250657670.jpg Something like that? lol
  23. woah lol wtf. Yeah I been playing around lilke crazy, and I'm just trying to do something as simple as import existing msh from oblivion. My biggest problem lies in getting the same model style of gear. Getting a mesh into the game is super easy, just editin a mao, but lol a new model seems to be a @#$@#$#@ pain. I think your problem lies in the same dam thing I have a problem with, which is how the armor sits in 3d space. If you notice when you use like datools 5.0, and see how the armor floats in space, I figure if you make a new armor for a race, it has to do exactly that. The thing I can't figure out for the life of me is where to get those dam coordinates. I have an odd feeling there possibly in the mmh file. I opened it in a notepad format, and despite some jibberish, I saw some information pertaining to like float points or something inside of it. One armor I imported into the game made the game crash on equiping it, and the 2nd time I tried my characters body shrank to the size of a nickle. Yeah i wish I knew how to fix this all.
  24. Wow I can't believe no one has taken interest in this so far... For what Raughnut has been able to do so far i'm completely impressed. The armor is totally unique in comparison to the rest of the armor in the game. I would love to see this project finished. I would suggest perhaps posting on bioware's project board to see if you can get people to help you. I myself am trying to learn the process of modding in general, but I got quite a ways to go. Are you doing all of this in 3ds max?
  25. lol that'd be so sick~ I'd be the revenant for live lol.
