  1. I've seen a mod that adds something like this - it was a variant of detect life - danger sense or something like that, I wish I could remember the name for certain. It made enemies illuminate with red instead of the default, friendly purple. You could easily see which ones are foes in a room full of people, and I have to say as a bonus, it helped keep some of my rather more enthusiastic companions alive (I could more easily tell them from enemies in the fray of battle). I don't use the mod anymore, so I can't look up the name for you, but I got it here, so a search should turn it up.
  2. I'm not sure about a stun mod, but you can use paralyze potions on your arrows which will stop enemies in their tracks for about 2-5 seconds (depending on the potion strength). Also, when you get high enough in the Marksman skill, your shots have a chance to knock opponents down, which is amazingly funny to see when they are charging you! Just don't make the same mistake I did and assume because they are down, they are dead.
  3. I use the default timescale, and usually spend my days doing misc. quests and looting forts in search of Shadowbanish wine. I only sleep when I'm ready to level up, and then only for the shortest amount of time (an hour) -- though I'm toying with the idea of downloading Vim and Vigor (so you have to sleep and eat regularly). I don't care what time it is when I sleep, since I only really take naps... I visit the IC most, because that's where all of the merchants I use most are located. I think I use the IC because I have a lot of mods based there, like merchants. You know, Edgar's and the Mystic Emporium; the improved theivery (mod) quests and so forth. I travel to other cities if I need to sell stuff fast, and if they are closer than the IC. I try to limit fast travel to emergencies (like a short-lived feather spell) and never use my horse anymore. I really only go to other cities for quests, and don't spend too much time in them, except for Skingrad and Leyawiin which I like to visit. I have Kumiko Manor for my house, which is decidely off the beaten path, so I don't spend a lot of time there, just when I'm in the neighborhood. I have Frostcrag spire, too, but only go there for the alchemy lab since it's such a hike up that mountain.. Hope this helps you out!
  4. Most of the draw for me in the game is the immersion - I like it better when things happen somewhat realistically for the setting. Oblivion does pretty well; the modders make it even better. So thanks to all you folks who just aren't satisfied with the OOBE. That said, how about: - Realistic Eating and Drinking. Everyone else in the Inn gets to enjoy a nice mug of beer, and eat strawberries and grapes, while I sit down and look at my menu, which is not the right sort of menu (who eats fur boots). Why can't I just grab a Mead off the bar if I have the money, and drink it like everyone else? Or, snarf down some steamy venison - with silverware - while chatting with the person across the table from me? If I'm not sneaking, I'm not stealing! And frankly, who wouldn't casually reach over and grab a handful of ironwood nuts while listening to someone go on about what happened in Kvatch? They're right out there on the bar! So it would be cool, even if I had to purchase it from the innkeeper, if I could take it out of inventory and place it on the bar...and have the animations for actually eating and drinking instead of just the visual ingredient effects. - I know I'm repeating, but turning off detect life at superclose range gets my vote, too. - Extra hotkeys. I have like 5 extra buttons and a tilt wheel on my mouse, plus a whole row of extended keyboard keys that are doing NOTHING. Please oh please someone make it possible to map those buttons to hotkeys. Nothing more jarring than having to go to the menu all the time. I like the Oblivion world, uh, I need to STAY there to enjoy (and defend) myself. I mean, I turn off my phone when I play, I like to GET IN IT. - Telekinesis should move boulders. I get stuck ALL THE TIME trying to get past what appears to be a passable cave-in site. I can see the chest in there. There's a man-sized hole, which I can squeeze through if I sneak. But no, I can only slide left or right one game millimeter, and forget jumping, that's right out. Is that someone's idea of a joke? - Fishing. I'm a dork, I know, but I see all those fishing waders in people's wardrobes, and all those yummy fishies who try to eat me, and I want to catch them, with a pole or a net, and put them on my dinner table to eat them. Really eat them, like I mentioned earlier. And make them into nice trophies. Scales - pah! I spit on them! - Helmets that don't make me bald when I wear them. - Claw weapons, like (OK really showing my dorkiness now) Rikku had in FFX, maybe replace gauntlets' equipment slot, but have it be a weapon - dependent on hand-to-hand skill. I could go on, but I talk too much as it is, and it's really cuttin' into my play time.
  5. Occasionally, a lone slaughterfish will pop up through a bridge or pier I am standing on, and flop menacingly towards me, on land. If I back up, he flops closer. If I approach he flops away. Not sure if I got my ankle inadvertently tangled in some hapless fisherman's line or what...? I wish I could have z-keyed that fishy all the way to my dinner table, and replace the ham that's been sitting there for a month. Make a nice wall-hanging, too.
  6. Swimming deer: I dunno if anyone else has seen this, but I found it funny for some reason...
