Ok, thanks guys. I was looking for a specific load order of your lists, but I appreciate the help nonetheless. I realize there were other topics listing many mods, which is helpful, and I did read them but I was looking for something a bit more specific. About BOSS, if you installed it, then you should remember that it requires you to use that turtle program and to get the password for it. No payment or anything and I puzzled my way through it, but it didn't used to be that way and I was momentarily confused. If you did it another way, then I'm happy for you but that was how the direction instructed me to do it. I'm in the process of rebuilding it all now, so see you all....maybe never again, haha. Just kidding, only if I get it to work, right? Then I'll never see anyone ever again. On a side note, does Wrye Bash work with OBMM? For instance, if I load a rar. into wrye bash, will it show up as installed if I open OBMM? Well....I suppose best thing to do is experiment and break everything. Hello everyone, I'm starting over from scratch, as I had to wipe my PC. I have done all of this before so i'm not totally clueless but it has been awhile. I just wanted to ask if some of the pros out there could give me a hand and suggest some of the best mods to-date along the lines that I will specify and of course, all of which do not conflict with each other. My most important desires for mods are as followed (from 1. on most wanted to least). 1.New character creation tools to really alter the faces more than vanilla. 2.Duel wielding 3.New monsters and getting rid of/rebalancing the leveling of monsters (stopping it from following your levels). 4.New spells, weapons and outfits/armour (including levitating) 5.New areas and quests/adventures (including the Elswyr mod and I heard something about a Black Marsh something or other... but I'm not sure) 6.New races to play as Graphics level of vanilla is fine for me, unless some mods require graphical updates. Please list your mod suggestions with confidence concerning non-conflicting compositions. I know it is a tall order to ask for so many *grin*. Any help is appreciated and if the order of install/listing to put the mods in is known, that would be excellent as well. Thanks in advance and I love this community for even making this possible! Just to clarify one last time, I only wish for a list with the best (in your opinion) of each category that I requested. Not this, this and that for this. Only one for each, especially if they conflict. Two or more for areas are ok, but I seem to remember those conflicting quite a bit before... P.S. I cannot seem to find the supplemental patch which used to come after the first unofficial patch... has something changed aout that..? P.P.S. Ok, now I am completely confused.... i downloaded BOSS and everything is different from how I remember it... with passwords andturtle programs....what the heck.. so I tried Wrye Bash and I can't seem to get it...any tutorials....simple ones... for a simple program. I know modding is not simple...but why has it gotten so much more complex? I'm just so confused...

Hello again. Has anyone heard of a glitch where th character no longer taks any damage? at first i thought the difficulty was just too low, but evn at 100% the player takes 0 damage from anyone and anything. I did a search but nothing liek that came up. Any ideas?

Can anyone tell me what the sound files that govern the selection sounds inside the inventory (selecting items, looting corpses, etc. ) are called? If i know what they are I could check to see if they are gone at least. All other sounds are working, just those are silent. I have Audia Arcanum active but th sound was off before I did. I have never loaded any other sound mods before or after.

yes, i made sure everyone has full control, it still wont work. I guess bash is just wanting to be difficult or hats vista, haha. Thanks for the help though. I will just forget bash.

this might sound crazy.. but i can't find any tools option anywhere but internet explorer, and tat dosn't have anything like folder options in it.. where is it supposed to be?

That one does not say no console, but it simply loads a black cmd looking screen and then closes.

it just says Wrye Bash Launcher python file (no console) Last time I did it I did not have to select any specific python file. if i do, how do I make it run through it? oh, it says pythonw in the properties

ok, I did not have admin rights. I put the value to yes in the cmd window and relogged on as administrator. However it still says (no console) after the wrye bash appilcation and will not run.

There is only one account. There aren't any others. I assumed it would be administrator level.. how can I check?

I did install the Python pack and run as admin. is greyed out in properties. This computer is vista.

BASH was working fine before i did a clean wipe and startd over. Now, although I isntalld both Wrye Python and Bash, it will not load and says (no console) after the application. How can I fix this? Do I need to move the wrye python to a different folder? It is currently in the same directory as bash.

With that many mods, I strongly recommend using Wrye Bash and converting those packages to BAIN or BAIN-ready packages. This way you can install or uninstall things without messing up your base installation. Also packages are installed based on the order of the list, larger-numbered packages taking precedence. This means you can rearrange packages to install in the correct order, and Wrye Bash will automatically replace and overwrite files based on your install order. If you ever decide to uninstall an intermediate package, it will also automatically replace any files which may have been in conflict. Also, replace the P.O.S. WinRAR with 7-zip . This site has a lot of good information for setting up modded Oblivion, including extensive information on setting up and using BAIN. Some of the information is slightly out-of-date, but it is all still relevant. (i just copied this to show who i was responding to, it would not allow me to reply to this message, adminstrator error, login or somthing like that). I suppose I will try Wrye Bash again... if i have no other alternative. Everyone has such good things to say about it, but last time I used it ( and i followed the tutorial step by step) it took my game that was working relatively well and made it crash on initialization every single time... So, i'm a bit hesitant.

Boss works, as far as running, arranging and giving info, but somthing has to be wrong, as it gives me a different load order, somtimes when i didn't even install anything new and it also keeps giving me information that is conflicting with help guides, tutorials and it continues to advise installing the unofficial supplemental patch, evevn though I have downloaded it from several different locations and taken it on and off multiple times to try to get it to recognize it. It is displayed properly in OMM and seems to be fine, so I'm not sure about it. right now I have only patches loaded and the game runs fine, but BOSS still refuses to recognize that that patch is there and keeps recommending it...

Well, thanks for the advice and the answer. I have been trying to do as you advised and as I stated in my original post, have read through more than a couple guides, help topics, etc. I admit that I was trying for an easy way out with this post, doesn't hurt to ask, so no need to get testy/preachy with the search engine topic, as I have alrady exhausted it. I'm gonna keep trying though, it's gonna be sweeet when i get it going. Thanks again for your time and help.

Ok.. I really need some help from a bonafiede expert. I have been trying to set up a costum mod list but as most can imagine I have run into countless problem after problem. I know I could just settle for one or two mods..... but there are just so many cool ones..and I want them all!! Haha. So, seriously, I know I can't have them all. But is there any way to come close? I included some screenshots of my picked mods so far. I have gone through the lists and the tutorials and the help guides and bugged everyone here in the forums over and over again, but I just keep running into problems....Outdated information, updated files no longer compatible, dead links.. If anyone has the time, could they please look at my list and tell me (as far as they know) which ones are definitely incompatible with the majority of the others, and if they have any suggstions for substitutions or alternates ( and maybe even a basic load order :) if i dare ask for it. BOSS seems to be amazing..but..it's not working, for me, possibly because I'm doing something else wrong) and if I need any additional files. I'm worn out and tired of almost being able to play and then being disappointed (a feeling I'm sure many of you can relate too...) I can live with cutting out a few of the mods, I guess... Just let me know after you take a look. Thanks to whoever takes the time to give a helpful hand, or eye in ths case.

Thanks for the help. I already redownloaded OOO (after I found out it was causing the problem through the process of elimination) and reinstalled and it is working well enough now. Soooo, that's a relief! :)

Thank you everyone for the help. Ok, here's what I did. First, I tried the whole Bash thing...not a good idea!! At first it seemed as if everything was just swimming along. I was followed the pdf, progressing well, things were happening, i was getting excited! But no.. i royally retarded that one somehow. The thing was so messed up I had to start from scratch again. Next I went back to Oblivion Mod Manager. Tried to install some new texture packs, meshes..animations, nothing doing. So finally I started picking through my active mods.. one by one.. disabling and testing (becaus ei had no idea which file was causing the missing textures). Well, turns out OOO was in conflict with something or I installed it incorrectly, because while it was active, the problem persisted (I also had to deactivate Enhanced Weather as it was causing the same problem...with and without OOO active). So with those two inactive everything works fine. I am redownloading OOO to try installing it one more time (the single complete file this time) and hopefully that will be the end of it. If not I'll just have to do without OOO, as amazing of a mod it is. Thank you ALL once again for your patience and continued help. I couldn't have done it without you. I'll have more questions in the future, I'm sure ;) I just hope I can use all this to in turn help others out as you have helped me.

Hello everyone. I created a topic on this, but still can't figure it out, so I thought i'd try to post it here. My meshes are missing....and it tells me this in-game, with a big yellow star icon saying "WTF, I'm missing a mesh" in every spot where i suppose a mesh is supposed to be..usually where a chest is or maybe a stream of light, i'm not sure.. I have OOO, Cobl and MMM running as well as Enhanced weather and quest mods. How do you take a screenshot of the desktop again? If that will help I can do that and show my OMM files. I tried to copy and paste separate meshes to replace them, but that has failed to fix it too. I have been trying to get this operational for three days now, if anyone could help, i'd really appreciate it. Oh, i'm also on windows XP and I dont think its a graphics error or anything, because vanilla ran fine. Also, I apologize for posting this twice, It was an accident, I posted it in the wrong spot somehow and i'm going right now to see if i can delete it. Not enough sleep these past three dayys. Crap...they both went to the same place.. I am really sorry aboutthis. I obviously have no idea what I am doing. I will stop now.

I have both MMM and OOO installed. how do I remedy this? I cannot open the files to get them out, they're locked it seems... the only way to put them on is through one of the programs (bash, OMM) right? or manually putting it in my data folder, but i still cannot get the meshes out to the right places...what do I do?

Oh.. really..? I didn't know... I have the game of course. And it just occured to me that i could take them from the disk.. or so I thought, but when i just tried it didn't work. Sorry bout the piracy thing, i didn't know.. it's doesn't make a lot of sense if i bought it and have the game disk why it would be illegal.. but I guess I can see how people who didn't buy it might try to say that.. soo....How do I extract the .bsa files? If i have to take them from the vanilla gam i guess i just will do that, but how do i do it? I have 7zip and i know how to extract and all that, but it's not letting me extract the zipped files... Oh, i see.. BSA Commander...right, somethign else i have to download. I just have a slow connection, so it is taking a very long time to download this stuff.. OK, well thanks.

OK, I have one more request (for now), Could someone copy their mesh and texture folders and send or give them to me, or show me where to download them.. i just need the ones for containers and chests, but i cannot find them and it is taking forever to download python and bash and BBO and BQG and LMNOP.... i wont give up on them, i will download them eventually...but i just want to play!! Haha. I need chests in the game and i can't start my game till it's fixed. Someone, anyone!!! I need some meshy textures!!! I dont care what mod or even vanill- oh my.... i could just take them from the disc.. couldn't i...haha.. well, if someone feels liek sending them from one of the better mods, or telling me the name of a good mod that has nice texture mesh overhalls, i would still appreciate it. I know i could look through tthem myself, but what else are experienced gamers for, then to share their knowledge? *wink, wink*

Yea, i am hoping. I'm having a lot of trouble getting the files, period, haha. Slow connection. but i'm slogging through it all. I'll let you know if i ever figure out what it is/was exactly that's gumming up the works.
