  1. Well there is obviously some way to do it. There are already mods that add in new kill moves which are new animations.
  2. The creation kit is out. Will work for this mod begin? Also if you are looking for inspiration you could also check out Unnecessary Violence 2 mod for Oblivion.
  3. Sadly from the combat mechanics in the existing game, I dont see any workaround either. However, the statistical differences for the combat mechanics each style brings would add enough variety to change current combat play for the better. To emphasize this Ill give an example. Fencing vs Normal: Let say nobles use a fencing style and you come upon a situation where the noble is fighting a bandit who is using normal combat. Bandit attacks noble with a sideways attack. Almost caught off guard the Noble attacks back. Because of the bonus of style, the Noble is able to block and attack in one motion. It would be overpowered for this to happen every time, so some things would have to depend on timing and chance (e.g. 40% chance to block while attacking when using "fencing" style). As another bonus the noble does quick thrusts and can attack 2 times (in the time the bandit attacks once) with jabs (also with greater range) but does less damage. The bandit, pissed from being stabbed twice does a power attack and does significant damage to the Noble. However as another bonus for fencing style could increase the critical hit chances (maybe the only way to do significant damage in this style) and stabs the bandit in the heart killing him. So while that is just an example there are many mechanics that can be altered by a "martial arts style" and each could be altered or enabled by different styles: Blocking Movement speed Combat movement speed Attack speed Range Critical hit chance Parrying Multiple Hits Counter Strikes Blocking while attacking Striking while blocking Jabs vs swings Armor differences -meaning damage differences to light armor vs heavy vs none- Hitting multiple enemies vs single enemies Power attacks Recovery time Knock down Weapon draw speed Weapon switch speed Control or lack of control type of attacks probably more but you get the idea So the benefits of a martial art style could depend on if you make a monk mage character you want to have good at avoiding damage, or a powerful assassin who does quick deadly strikes, or other combinations of characters with styles.
  4. Here is a link to a forum where I proposed an idea similar to this (if not the same). I think the conversation could spur ideas on this forum. go to Fighting Styles in Tytanis Forum for video and dialogue. ---Very basics for those not wanting to read another forum--- Different styles of martial arts/fighting each would have different strengths and weaknesses as well as animations. Different styles would include the use of hand-to-hand and weapon variants. Factions in the game would prefer one style, e.g. Thalmor would use a different style than Forsworn ect.
  5. Dont know if I got the staff (of magnus) at too low a level, think I was lvl 22 but the staff is really crappy for being an end of questline item. Can someone mod the staff and have different options on strength. 50 per sec for one option 75 per sec and ect ect. Please! would do it myself but know nothing of modding.
  6. Love the idea... but would want skooma to have better benifits to make up for the losses... and make it a little easier to get (more sellers) .... could even make a quest mod where you become a "supplier" trying to get others "hooked" lol
  7. The discussion is interesting... thoughts of immersion and theories of vampires are cool and I enjoy reading the responses. However, this is a mod request, and I would second the request. That is the beauty of mods that you can choose which ones you like and those you don't. I was just thinking how I would love to have a "blood" potion that works the same as feeding. So if someone could make this, it would be greatly appreciated.
  8. I have the same problem... I have tried using questID console commands switching between all armor types and arena armors (even yellow arena raiment) and looking all over the internet for suggestions. Oywen (or whatever his name) keeps telling me to put on my raiment even though I have it on and will not let me be ready for a match. I even tried installing an arena mod - didn't fix anything.
