  1. So, a couple of minor weapon mods that I've tried recently (most notably Ashkandi), whenever I try to equip the weapon, the weapon appears completely black and ... weirdly translucent. Strangely, if I just throw it on the ground, it appears correctly, but once I equip it, it's black again. This occured with 2 other small weapon mods (which I cannot remember that name of). I *know* beyond a shadow of a doubt the mods were installed correctly. What's causing this issue?
  2. Is there a mod in existence that will speed up things at merchants? What I mean is, something other than "click item, click yes, repeat".It can get pretty annoying when you have a huge haul of loot to sell ... I'm not seeing anything through the search (either that, or I don't know what I should search for).
  3. I did get things functioning again ... I think the overall lesson was, don't f*** with settings that you don't understand.
  4. So added a few new mods to Oblivion this morning, Nothing big, just single-fancy-weapon mods. Start playing, take two steps, realize I forgot to rebuild bashed patch. So I get to this screen: http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j175/ecchi_rebirth/wryebash1.jpg I noticed earlier, something that had never really occured to me. Only the first option was ever selected. So I hit the 'select all' button, and waited for it to rebuild the patch. I have a feeling that was the first mistake. So, attempting to start the game, the screen would switch, then immediately close and return to desktop. this is occuring no matter what I do. Now, according to some basic bashed patch tutorials I've read (these are aimed at basic users, which I am, most of the terminology in Bash is very confusing to me) only a few options really *need* to be selected ... however, when building the patch, I appear to only have the option of selecting all or selecting none. I haven't done anything else to this point however, I want to make sure the next steps I take are correct. Help, please!!!

  6. Yes, I'm coming to this forum to ask about a totally different forum. Basically, it appears their registration page is busted ... and I can't find a way to get a hold of any of their mods/admins. If anyone from that site posts here as well, I could use a hand. I did have an account once, but I'm guessing it was deleted in their most recent purge. Again, my apologies for such awkward request for help, but, not sure what else I can do.
  7. I'm still not fully used to using Bash ... some of it just flies over my head in terms of understanding. Nothing like being made to feel stupid by data on comp screen.
  8. Did what you said, and had a female companion equip all sorts of chest armors ... everything seems to be working again. Thank you!!!
  9. Ok, strange observation ... chest armor only seems to be showing up improperly on female characters ... this didn't start happening till today, so ... yea, odd.
  10. So, in my game currently, chest armors are not showing at all on me or NPCs ... not all chest armors though, and some of these armors are basic armors (dwemer and steel armor at the moment).   12. So, recently started playing Oblivion again. Installed COBL, according to BOSS, everything is in the proper order. However, in Wrye, while Cobl Main, Cobl Glue, Cobl Si and Cobl Tweaks all have green checkboxes, the item interchanges all have red checkboxes ... I'm not sure if this is a bad thing or not, or if the whole mod is not functioning ... can anyone clarify what I'm looking at here?

Whenever my character is killed and the game goes to the loading screen, it actually never loads from my last save point, it hangs there and does not continue.
  14. So, did all that was suggested, and was still having CTDs when vendoring stuff. So, I sat down and started vendoring stuff one by one to see if it was one specific item that was causing the crashes. Turns out it was the live iguanas from MMM. Everything else could be vendored fine. So I enabled the 'No Iguanas' module, and vendoring is fine now. HOWEVER ... I have run into a new problem. Should I start a new topic, or keep everything here?
  15. Well, update here ... I tried removing the game and reinstalling it to a new location ... but the problem still persists, more aggressively now. It doesn't seem to have a rhyme or reason, but sooner or later when vendoring items, whether many or a few, the game with CTD as soon I press accept to sell the items. I'm at wits end here, folks.
  16. So, been playing Fallout 3 for about a week now (late to the party as usual). I recently installed some mods to spice up the game a bit. However, since yesterday, I've been having CTDs when trying to vendor items. Doesn't seem to matter what vendor, though it doesn't appear to happen with all items, usually ammo (shotgun shells) or some kind of med item (psycho/jet in particular). Those were all removed, but I'm wondering if data from them made something screwy. If there's any other info I can add, say so, and thank you.
  17. Was up late last night fighting with this and finally got a nice, tidy install in a new part of my HD ... And trying to load my saves *still* causes the error mentioned in my original posts. EDIT: OK, so ... went back and thought about the last things I did in the game world before I started having these issues. I had placed some chests and bookshelves from Amajor's Imperial Furniture mod in my home. Soooo ... made a new save in Wrye with just the aforementioned mod disabled and ... voila. The old save is apparently completely borked, even though I can play the new saves I made with Amajor reenabled. Hmmmm. Think I may need to find a new furniture mod, or something.
  18. There's a *way* bigger problem now ... I am getting a bizarre error message when I attempt to initiate an uninstall (I think I screwed up the reinstall process somehow anyway) ... No idea what to do now.
  19. Well, after a clean reinstall, putting everything back in place .... still getting the same runtime error when I try to load my saves. Thinking I may have no choice but to bid farewell to my lvl 25 and start over completely fresh. Thank you anyway for the help, folks. EDIT: Ok, I've messed up something badly ... may not be playing Oblivion for *awhile*.
  20. And after all that ... still getting the runtime errors ... Are my saves FUBAR? I really hope not .... EDIT: G/f (who is more computer savvy than I) is recommending copying my saves and my Data folder to a safe place and reinstalling Oblivion itself ... would this be advisable?
  21. I honestly do not know which version I have (sorry!!! >.<). I know the version I downloaded did not have an esm packaged with it. Should I d/l a different version? Also, I use BOSS within Wrye Bash to order my mods.

Is there any other info I could give that would help resolving this?
  23. Went back and checked a few things ... The error occurs if I use the 'Continue' option or try to Load a saved game from the Title screen. If I start a new game, it will go through the opening cinematic and everything just fine. However, if I try to load a saved game from a new game, the same error will occur.
  24. Tried to start my morning with a bit of Oblivion ... The game started properly, however, when attempting to load any of my saves, the game would jump to the loading screen and immediately freeze, with the Windows error message box popping up with the following text: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program: H:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Oblivion.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. I've never had such an error before. I always run the game through a shortcut to the OBSE loader, and it always loads normally. I have no idea as to what the problem would be, as I have no idea how the Runtimes function.
  25. Hmmm ... so, basically, don't wade into everything head first as I am wont to do ... I suppose I can do that. Well, off to install and make sure it plays nice with the other mods I have.
