  1. So I have a lot of experience with Skyrim. Well over 1,000 hours. I've "seen it all," "done it all," and "heard it all," when it comes to using popular mods. I've run everything from a perfectly smooth masterpiece to a stuttering crash-ridden mess with my mod configurations. I've used crazy custom spells and extravagant weapons and even combat overhauls. I've played every difficulty from Vanilla novice up to Requiem with some extra mods for added challenge. And then I got bored. But I never stopped visiting Skyrim Nexus. Every single day, a couple of times usually, I stop by and check out some of the new mods to watch for the diamonds in the rough. Some of the new ones have me itching to play again. I want to ask the general public's opinion: What primary mod setup should I use for my next playthrough? I don't mean which ENBs, with or without IA or RND or Frostfall, etc. I mean the big meaty mods that change gameplay drastically. I have used almost all of the big ones and I'd rather have someone tell me what I should do than simply choose from the list again. I know that sounds lazy but honestly, I've done it so many times and I'd rather be surprised for once. Also, if you know of any great must-have mods that didn't get much attention let me know about them. I'd love to hear peoples' suggestions. [Note for forum Moderator: I wasn't sure if I should post this in the general section or the modding section. The modding section seems to be mostly technical stuff so I didn't want to clutter it with this. Sorry if I put this in the wrong section.]
  2. In response to post #11181752. While I don't agree completely with your wording, that's part why I never use the steam workshop. That, and finding a good mod there is worse than hunting for diamonds in Minecraft.
  3. While I am already a supporter and would be given an ad-free experience, I do not mind ads at all. Consider creating an opt-out feature for people like me that are willing to support the Nexus just a little more, with no loss (in my opinion) of browsing quality.
  4. @Seanxx - I partially agree with you, however, while that would work great for mods like SkyUI that are well designed for NMM, other mods like ENB configs and simple borderless window would be left in the dark unless NMM was overhauled to install them. The same goes for any mod that is more stable when installed manually. Also, while many people probably endorse most files that they use now because of the new feature, some may look at it as a "rating system" and judge the file's functionality and overall usefulness before deciding whether or not to endorse it. @Dark0ne - really glad to see the Nexus coming along so well. It's a great network and deserves to grow as much as it can. Looking forward to the categorization features of NMM.
  5. Congratulations Nexus! In my opinion there is no better source for quality mods. Keep up the great work.
  6. One thing that bugged me from Day One about dragons is that their kill cam where they grab you and toss you about, despite being brutal and violent, is actually disappointing for me. Think of the first dragon encounter at the watchtower outside of Whiterun. When you loot it, you find Whiterun guard armor in its stomach. The guard you meet at the tower refers to Hroki and Tor getting grabbed when they tried to make a run for it, so we can only assume that the dragon picked them up, flew off, and ate them. So, if dragons are indeed man-eaters, why don't they have a taste for Dovakhiin? What I'm essentially trying to say is, would it be possible for someone to modify/replace the kill cam or add another one that involves the dragon eating the player? I know animations are difficult but it has been done before, in the forms of weapon animations, running and jumping animations, and countless sex animations. I would take this on myself if I had any skills whatsoever related to modding, but sadly I am 100% clueless. My most humble gratitude goes out to any modder(s) who wants to try this project.
