  1. I am using the ENBoost Mod found here on the Nexus. I hadn't considered that it might be the ENB causing it and updated both enb from the enbdev site and the current 5_0 Version of the mod (I'm fairly sure I was already using the 5_0 version, but not the newest enb files). I started Skyrim for a minute or so and it seemed fine, when before it showed the flicker. I will test more when I get the time, but in the mean time that might have helped.
  2. Hey folks, I've installed Skyrim and a bunch of mods again and played fine for a while. Now I've noticed a strange thing: Icon, such as anything in menu or the world map (so places, etc) start to flicker and strech. Within a few seconds to a minute or two the game will crash. Anybody ever seen this before? I'm sure it exists with a solution, I just didn't find anything with Skyrim icon flicker on Google. See the attached images. I appreciate your answers, folks!
  3. Nobody have any suggestions? As far as I can tell now, no crafting apart from the Forge works. No grindstone or workbench. Even mining or chopping wood doesn't The interesting bit is that with the later two, I loose control over my Character (can't move) and get it back about 3 seconds later. All the other crafting bits play animation and bring up the menus, just kick me out rather fast.
  4. Hello folks, first of, I think this should be the right subforum, but if I'm wrong, sorry about that. I've been finally been able to play Skyrim again but now have a weird bug. Almost all crafting animations are short. Let me explain: Enchanting. I active the Arcane Enchanter and the crafting menu open, the character starts leaning on the enchanter, like they should. However, as soon as that animation is done, instead of staying there and allowing me to enchant stuff, the leaving animation kicks in and kicks me out of the crafting. The same happens with the Alchemy table, the grindstone and the workbench. The only two that I know seem to work fine are the Forge and the Tanning rack. Anybody else have ever seen this problem? Here's my loading list/order:
  5. Well, I'm glad it worked out for you in the end. :D
  6. Could it be that you have it ticked off in the Immersive HUD mod? I'm not sure if the "bshowcompass=1" would bypass that or not. Just a idea.
  7. Hello folks, first of, if this is in the wrong section (couldn't decide if it should be in Mod throubleshooting or here), please forgive me and I would be thankful if a moderator moved it to the appropriate section. The bane of all Elderscrolls games, odd crashes, has now reached me. Here's what happens: A) Can't load game, ctd. Can start new game, but during tutorial character moves when is not supposed to (such as walking up to the headmans block before the other prisoner dies and the game just stops doing anything) B) Can load game, but crashes after 10 seconds. I've managed to overcome the tutorial bug with the Live another life mod, but the crashes are infuriating. Since the game works well without any mods, it must be a mod problem. I've run the thing through BOSS several times and through Wrye Bash as well. I'm kindof at a loss here. At one point it seemed the amount of active mods influenced the crashes. It worked for a while with exactly 88 mods active, then later at 75. This isn't reliable though. Here's me modlist, straight out of Boss: Could it be a mix of Steam workshop mods and nexus mods? I'm grateful for any suggestion.
  8. First of, I've decided to put this into the spoiler section as I will be commenting on the Dark Brotherhood, the main quest and other events that may spoil your enjoyment of the game. Please keep this in mind. I was honestly surprised to hear that Skyrim is set 200 years after the Oblivion Crisis. I was expecting a difference of 10 years, at most. Similar to the gap of Morrowind and Oblivion. I commend Bethesda for Skyrim's ideas and quests as well as their willingness to do something new, in regard to the "timeskip". That being said, why isn't Skyrim "The Elder Scrolls: VII" or some other number? My reasoning behind this is to not only have a great world, such as Skyrim, be there for the player, but it's also one of the players making. Imagine this: TES:V would have been Somerset, the main quest dealing with the re-emergance of the Aldmeri Dominion. We would see and interact with a weakening Empire and a growing High Elf power. Similarly, through that experience, we could see the fall of the Dark Brotherhood, as well as other organizations, such as the Thieves Guild. Perhaps another quest could pitch the revolting Argonians against the Telvanni Lords, as it is suggested in Skyrim. My point simply is, it would have been great to see and experience many of the things that are mentioned in Skyrim. My personal explanation for why this didn't happen? From a gameplay perspective it is more compelling to build things up again, instead of seeing it all crumble around you. Don't get me wrong, I love Skyrim. I believe Morrowind has finally had a worthy successor (and not just because they brought back dwemer ruins instead of those bloody Ayleids...). These are just some of my musing I wanted to share.
  9. Hello there, fellow Oblivion enthusiasts, I'm starting Oblivion again and remember a mod I've seen here ages ago. I don't recall how the mod was called or who made it. This is what I can tell you about it: It made weapons level up the longer you use them. So say you really like the Iron dagger, but it doesn't do enough damage. This gave added effects to it, with varying levels, that would increase over time as you use your favorite weapon. It's been probably over a year since I've seen this. I've searched for it, but can't find it. I do recall seeing it here on the Nexus. Any help is greatly appreciated! Edit: After looking around a little more, I've found a similar mod that is not what I'm looking for! Weapon and Staff Specialties is NOT what I am looking for. The difference I can tell seems to be that WaSS applies added effects to all one-handed weapons (as an example). What I'm looking for applies those effects only to one specific weapon.
  10. I applied that fix, it says it uncreated 64 objects (I don't know if that is a lot or not) and those savegames still don't load. I'm going to start another character and play for a while to see if the same thing happens. Either way, I'll mention it here.
  11. That seems to work. No freezing there. My only concerns there would be that first of I'd prefer to continue to play my previously created character, as well as that I didn't have these problems when I began playing that character. I fear starting another one would just end in that problem I have now edit: I left the game loading my old saves again, which freeze. After a while the program just crashes.
  12. According to the BOSS software, it is up to date. If you have a idea of how I can get the newest version manually, that would be great. Here is the BOSS log, that also says "DairĂ¢nath Avari" is not recognized. I'll double check the SLWA_Anequina_Patch.esp, I thought I had put it in its place already. 100%, I am not sure. I did leave it loading for a while with no result while I made myself a sandwich. Also, the music stops playing, however, I will try that again.
  13. I've mainly relied upon BOSS in that matter. If you have any suggestions, I'd be happy to listen, well... read.
  14. I did have in fact a few csv's that I now deactivated. Now however, when the bashed patch is activated, the game freezes while loading. Oddly enough, if it is not activated, then the game loads and the first problem emerges again where the game will crash more times than not. Thanks Hickory, those csv's probably did something bad.
  15. Do you have any suggestion on how to correctly building the patch, apart from marking all used mods, marking them mergeable, selecting "Rebuild Patch" on the Bashed Patch, and then selecting the appropriate things, such as leveled lists?
  16. Now it seems that the problem has worsened. The game now freezes during loading. But only with the savegames I've created, a new game doesn't make it crash. Obviously, I'd like to continue with my character. I've tried the autosave.bak to autosave.ess trick to no avail. Even odder, if I turn of the Bashed Patch esp, the game will load without freezing, but crashes when I get into the game. As I said before though, if it is active. the game freezes during loading. This all just seems a wee bit bizarre.
  17. Thanks, Graxster, for the suggestion. Sadly it doesn't particularly help. I've fixed the load order up a little, which again didn't do too much. It does seem that every sixth time the game won't crash after loading. Rather odd.
  18. When I do that, a new browser tab is opened that displays among things like my mods, the following: "Masterlist Update masterlist.txt is already at the latest version. Update skipped." Ergo, I'd say it is save to assume that BOSS is doing it's job nicely. What is it, Hickory, that seems wrong about the load order?
  19. I use the 1-65 Installer Version from here. It does say last updated in Dec 2010, but that seems close enough for me. Are you aware of a newer version that you can suggest, Hickory?
  20. @Telyn, sadly the disabling the OBGE did nothing. I will go and try the "no mods" later when I have a little more time. @Moire, I'm sure I shouldn't. I exchanged the mods, which sadly does nothing. @Hickory, as I've written in the opening post, the load order is made by BOSS and I have used Wrye Bash to rebuild the Bashed Patch.
  21. Hello folks, I was wondering if you might be able to help me with a problem of mine. I've started playing Oblivion again and currently have a problem with crashes, the whole thing goes like this: I play for a while, then I get a CTD. I start up the program again and load one of my savegames. It will load, no crash during the process, and I will see the gameworld. Shortly after, the game will crash. I'm talking about 3 2 to 10 seconds intervals. I managed to find out the following through trial and error: 1. If I open the inventory fast enough after loading a save game, the game doesn't crash. It will however crash when I close the Inventory after the 10 seconds. 2. I thought Oblivion XP Update caused the problem, and it won't crash after loading when I uninstall it. Until the next "normal" ingame CTD, when the whole thing starts repeating. I am assuming that this is a mod conflict or something. Here's my load order, which was ordered by BOSS: I am sure there is something to improve here. :) I hope one of you has a idea. Thanks in advance.
  22. So, just to make it all clear, if I install the patches 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 and all the DLCs (together with Mothership Zeta soon) the mods will worl? Is there by chance any importance of the order, like OA, Pitt, 1.5 then Broken Steel? Or can I judt install all the patches and then the DLCs?
