  1. Same problem? Crashing you mean? Mind being a bit more specific and post your hardware/software specs for comparison and assesment please?
  2. You mean when you exit Fallout 3? It's annoying sure but doesn't really matter afaik. I get it all the time when using mods and even occasionally in the patched vanilla Fallout 3. Nothing really to worry about except it's a bit annoying granted. Try REALLY hard to ignore it along with all the other Fallout 3 crashes/lockups as they're all oh so common. If you want someone to blame for you I'll point my finger at the muppets @Bethesda (Ruins). Go punish them buggers.
  3. In the mod manager click package manager. Then click add new and find the archive you've downloaded (ie. ModName.7z) and select it. Let the package manager sort it out (I mean it might hang up for a bit looking like it's locked up but it isn't). Then click the mod in the package manager and click activate. Close the package manager window. Then in the main mod manager window click to activate the wanted mod (esm. and/or esp.). Then go change the binvalidateolderfiles to 1 (instead of 0) in your Fallout.INI. Apply archive invalidation. Click the Launch FOSE button in the mod manager.
  4. Check if FWE is installed correctly both main assets + esm + esp files. Is it installed in Program Files folder? (Sorry couldn't resist asking) If you are absolutely sure it is installed properly try running it in a window. (I know sounds silly but has reduced crashes/locksups and increased FPS for me) Oh yes have you changed the Fallout.INI the binvalidateolderfiles to 1? (I'm betting it's this) On W7 it's in Computer -> Documents -> My Games -> Fallout 3
  5. Playing in windowed mode USED to decrease FPS years ago but nowadays with modern rigs and updated software I haven't noticed any decrease in FPS in games that I've tried out in windowed mode with either Win XP SP3 x86 or Win 7 Prof x86. Might have problems if using older hardware and/or software though. I'm using a 32" HD TV to play Fallout 3 and the small windows borders etc. do not really bother me personally because you can move the application window so that they do not show up. Seriously again a big whupping thankees to funkidud3 for this tip.
  6. Works fine for me on Win7 Prof x86. Using FWE, MMM, WMK + about 70ish other mods.
  7. I read something related to that earlier. I'll see if I can find the link somewhere. It was something like a weapon can never fire beyong the cell it's in. I mean to another cell. It's hard coded (capped). All the bullets fired go a straight line. The weapon spread value adds to the randomness in this only I think. It might have something to do with the auto-aim feature in Fallout 3. I read quite extensively about it, it's benefits and drawbacks and why you shouldn't disable it all but rather "tone it down". The auto aim aligns the weapon barrel to your crosshair. No auto aim = bullets go where the weapon model is pointing I think. Edit: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5606 This mod does two things: 1) Stops bullets rising when you shoot further than 30meters 2) Disables* the aim bot (auto aim) OR http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8309 Game Modifications: 1. Auto Aim fix Problem: This mod fixes Auto-Aim once and for all. As you know, the auto-aim in the original game is horribly broken. Any scoped weapon is therefore terribly inaccurate once you go beyond a certain distance. Fix: This mod fixes the focus of the Auto Aim to the edge of the game engine's rendering distance, and thus ensures that any bullet accurately goes to wherever your crosshair is pointing. I have no idea which of those is better and do they actually work (Haven't tried myself) or is it even advisable to try disabling the auto aim.

And maybe some more quest related mods as well. Still trying to find a mod that fixes the quest f*** ups in the vanilla game (I mean nonmarked quests tbh).
  9. Was able to poke GECK a bit more today and compared some of the gameplay setting sneaking related values. Where can I find out what each of the functions do ie. a description. Quick google was unrewarding. Values in FWE that I think I want to change are: fSneakBaseValue -40.0 (Vanilla -35.0) fSneakBootWeightBase 1.0 (Vanilla 12.0) <- from 12 to 1 ??? fSneakBootWeightMult 1.5 (Vanilla 0.5) fSneakMaxDistance 1800.0 (Vanilla 2500.0) fSneakRunningMult 3.0 (Vanilla 1.5)
  10. Hi, I've been wondering the same thing as you in here: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=174236 I'm using the -50% slower degradation mod and it has values fDamagetoArmorPercentage 0.175 (Vanilla 0.35) fDamagetoWeaponEnergyMult 0.02 (Vanilla 0.04) fDamagetoWeaponGunMult 0.015 (Vanilla 0.03) fDamagetoWeaponLauncherMult 0.03 (Vanilla 0.06) fDamagetoWeaponMeleeMult 0.025 (Vanilla 0.05) fVATSDamagetoWeaponMult 5.0 (Vanilla 5.0) So changing those values down means less degradation to selected weapons/armor.
  11. Thank you for your reply. I was aware of the esc spamming to stop the stutter but in the long run this gets REALLY tedious and it's not really a viable long term solution as the stuttering happens quite frequently.
  12. Thank you for this. I had downloaded the mod BUT I was not sure if it affected items added by mods as well or just items in the original unmodded game. Now I wouldn't mind armors wearing down as quick as they do (Kinda obvious when you get shot) but gun degradation is really annoying. Is there anyway to make guns degrade slower but say keep armors degrade the pace they do now? The all degradation removal IMO is silly because it makes it way too easy and removes a lot of the usability of the repair skill.
  13. I've had a similiar problem that wouldn't update my weight correctly when say moving ammo from a locker to my inventory. I'd have to open/close the locker 3-4 times before it updated properly (without moving anything in or out of it).
  14. bump for frustration and shut eye. Ninja edit: How long did I have to wait for the cells to regenerate (replenish? renew?)? Does it matter where I wait (Or do I have to sleep)?
  15. Thank You but that caused me to ask a new question: How about perks that have been added by mods? The one I'm using is the UPP1 and UPP2.
  16. Second thing I'm getting annoyed about is running in sneaking mode WITHOUT silent running perk (with FWE that perk seems like mandatory). For example a hostile can hear me running in sneaking mode three stories above or other absurd situations like the armory of Rivet City - all the guards just run around mindlessly in that stage because the turret in the armory "hears" me AFAIK. How do I change my own "foot weight" in the game in all modes? Running, walking, running while sneaking and walking while sneaking? Was able to poke GECK a bit more today and compared some of the gameplay setting sneaking related values. Where can I find out what each of the functions do ie. a description? Quick google was unrewarding. Values in FWE that I think I want to change are: fSneakBaseValue -40.0 (Vanilla -35.0) fSneakBootWeightBase 1.0 (Vanilla 12.0) <- from 12 to 1 ??? fSneakBootWeightMult 1.5 (Vanilla 0.5) fSneakMaxDistance 1800.0 (Vanilla 2500.0) fSneakRunningMult 3.0 (Vanilla 1.5) Also with the A3-21 Plasma Rifle I've managed to make two super mutants invisible. They still appear on the compass, they can shoot me but I can't hit them. I shot the with the A3-21 Rifle - I hit - Saw the blueish/electric effet and then they disappeared. Missing a texture/mesh/animation (?) here? Radio Stutters - Using the GNR More where that came from edition with 60 songs. I've reduced the acceleration by one notch (From max to one lower) and still stutters. Lowering the something-sampling-rate (dunno what it is in english) from max to mid (3 levels available) seems to reduce the stutters a lot but it causes other audio problems like some sounds repeating at incredible speed with deafening echo (Like when pressing V for VATS) - sounds like it goes to an endless loop. How do I find out what codecs I'm using and what codecs should I use to try and solve this? Anyone else having problems using energy weapons? I'm using the Wattz 1000 Laser Pistol (Happens with Laser Rifle as well atleast) and after shooting things (Tested with Night Ghouls, Deathclaw Matriarch and Raiders) with it the game locks up (radio is still playing) or simply CTD's. (Using FWE+EVE+MMM) I have a GF8800GTS and the latest drivers. Doesn't apply anymore  So I'm getting totally frustrated when my M60 goes from 100% to 50% in less than 400 bloody rounds. How would I go about changing the rate at which items (especially guns) degrade when firing/using them? If I understand it correctly changing the health of items is not what I'm looking for. Or is it? Thirdly is there any easy way to modify my character's perks that I took? (Took 3 levels of size matters for the "mastery" and then found out it takes FIVE levels). :'( Edited: Several edits for making this more tidy and readable
  17. Okey that sounded a bit crazy but for some odd reason it has decreased Fallout crashes for me quite a lot. 0_o It still crashes occasionally but not nearly as often as it used to (mostly when around/killing night ghouls or ramblers or when changing areas). Thank You.
  18. Hello, I'm having constant somewhat steady crashes when running F3 with a number of mods. Anyone able to advice me on my load order if there's something incorrect there or something critical missing? I've been reading the forums and threads but not sure if some of the load orders I found re up to date. And also the UF3P seems to be loaded in lots of different places. Fallout3.esm Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esm CRAFT.esm CALIBR.esm StreetLights.esm FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esm Mart's Mutant Mod.esm Realistic Interior Lighting.esp CRAFT - Activation Perk.esp CALIBRxMerchant.esp DarNifiedUIF3.esp GalaxyNewsRadio20[M].esp FO3 Wanderers Edition - Main File.esp WeaponModKits.esp WeaponModKits - FWE Master Release.esp Stealthboy Recon Armor - CRAFT.esp EVE.esp EVE - FWE Master Release.esp EVE - FWE with WeaponModKits.esp Mart's Mutant Mod.esp Mart's Mutant Mod - XFO.esp Mart's Mutant Mod - Feral Ghoul Rampage.esp Mart's Mutant Mod - FWE Master Release.esp Mart's Mutant Mod - FWE with EVE.esp 1PipboyPDA.esp Wasteland Weather Overhaul .9.esp FireLightFix.esp StreetLights - Wasteland.esp Total active plugins: 28 Total plugins: 28 Sometimes I crash when just traveling / changing area, occasional total system lockups in combat (Not VATS as the % are too low for it to be worth it) and having to spam the F5 button every few minutes for my sanity's sake is getting a bit tiresome. Second thing that bothers me is that sometimes after loading a saved game the attack button seems to be stuck ie. shooting constantly. Anyone know how to prevent or solve this as the only cure for it that I have found so far has been to exit the game completely (It also crashes on exit to main menu and exit to windows too) Also I'm using the Songs for EVE mod and is it only needed to unpack the file to the F3\Data\ directory? Ie. the folders in the mod archive like Optional Awesome Dungeon Songs should be in F3\Data\ and that's it? Nothing else needed? (Not much of a readme or install instructions I could find) And about the GNR mod that adds songs for the radio station. I put the files from the into Data\Sound\ and the esp into Data\ and activated it on FOMM. I read two different install instructions for it. One said something about unpacking and extracting files from a sound.bsa file and the other one did not. Which one is correct? PS. It is not installed into C:'s program files, I'm using XP 32 Prof SP3 clean install with all drivers and relevant software updated. so...umm... help? pretty please? :wallbash:
