  1. All for loops must convert to Whileism. This is the way of the One True Code. I don't know why, but I enjoy following people more knowledgeable than I discovering things I barely understand. :) So is the initial intent here to override the "Build an arc thrower, zap that guy!" dialogs with something more in-depth and Long War specific?
  2. Killer Klowns mod? ;) US police cars are not universally black and white. LAPD cars are. "To Protect And Serve" is also specifically their motto, not a national one. Hollywood just tends to depict all police forces as the LAPD. Around here the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office drive brown and tan cars. Taxis also come in many colors, but the New York City cabs are famous for their bright yellow paint.
  3. Isn't the bomb at the thundery metro station out in the open? I think there might be a piece of cover one tile away, but only on one side.
  4. So if you picked up EW when it first came out Slingshot wasn't included?
  5. "Only" can be quite a distance when you're hacking something that doesn't want to be hacked. :) The map is loaded because it's all done in engine. Most of the cinematics are indeed prerendered videos, but notably the skyranger intros, FiLP, and the first MEC and Genemod cinematics are real time so that your actual soldiers are displayed.
  6. A dead sectoid is a live sectoid that's been ragdolled. I'm not saying it's impossible, just that there's no "FiLP sectoid corpse" object to be placed. Spawning and killing a sectoid via script would work, though it's unlikely to ragdoll into the same pose, and it would play its death sound again unless there's some way of suppressing it. It also has to be done after the cinematic or it would be visible before hand. Edit: Remember that in vanilla corpses vanish. Long War makes them stick around the same way that stunned aliens persist. That's why Zhang's kill is missing in the first place.
  7. Pretty sure that sectoid doesn't exist. It's a model attached to an animation track in the cinematic, rather than being a game object. Basically the intro to FiLP is a skyranger cinematic without the skyranger. So the game doesn't have a "dead sectoid" available to spawn, hence the necessity of spawning a normal one and killing it to get a corpse on that square. (And no solution at all for Zhang's pistol)
  8. In response to post #10450814. #10450904, #10450927, #10452374, #10452556 are all replies on the same post. BOSS works fine regardless of what NMM is or isn't doing. Use the real thing, not the NMM plugin thingy. The unassigned thing is because NMM can't access the Nexus to ask what the file is. It doesn't maintain its own database as it would be way too large. You can set the categories manually. Right click the mod, Move to Category - and select the one you want.
  9. The Nexus is far and away my favorite modding site. Having such easy access to all this content with no BS or censorship is wonderful. Integrating NMM into the site is just about the coolest thing ever, and the latest version makes life so much easier for mod nuts like myself. Finally I can stop prefixing all my mods with [ARMOR] and [TEXTURE] and the like. :)
