Is there nobody out there that can help me with this issue?

I have two different storylines going (one for Henselt and one for Vergen). I was playing the Henselt game and I accidentally hit the "Enable Steam Cloud" button. Later when I went to play the Vergen path I noticed that my saved game for that line was gone. I have found my most recent Vergen save but I cannot find a place to put it so that it will again be playable. If anyone has any ideas on where it should be placed I would be most appreciative. Quite a few hours tied up in that path and I would hate to lose it. If anyone is able to explain to me why "Enabling Steam Cloud" would remove a game save I would also be most interested in hearing that as well. I know that it is technically possible that I deleted the save but I have been VERY careful when deleting games to avoid just such a case and I simply do not think I did it. Please help!
