About wait what

  1. using player.advlevel for the purpose is a brilliant idea
  2. Playing with the compass off has increased combat tension and enjoyment immensely!
  3. Lack of fast-travel isnt all that time consuming. If you take the right route, the distances arent much to travel. Plus you can collect and hunt on the way there.
  4. These are pretty funny. Also learn something about the strength of enemies.
  5. Hey what settings do you use for encoding your videos?
  6. I agree, there must be a better way to manage scaling. I think it would be cool if the enemies unlocked new abilities as they leveled up - they could still be the normal, veteran, elite, boss ranks which correspond to your level, but their levels determine what abilities they have. Maybe normal draugrs become highly resistant to arrows, or their movement speed increases, or you have to kill them two times or they regen quicker etc. etc.
  7. Hey antonkr, I like this idea! Im going to be doing a let's play where I go until I die on master difficulty. Ive died twice without making it far enough to bother uploading, but will persist with it. I love this game so why not. So far, difficulty wise, its on master of course. Ive also used mods to disable crosshair, sneak crosshair, which definitly adds to immersion. The other mod I have is daily respawn, which makes it more difficult by having to constantly fight things. I will remove the HUD next, but I think I will still use the ingame map. I'll just use the map sparingly so I rely on navigation skills more so than the map. What about enchanting? I _probably_ wont be using enchanting (just smithing, found and store bought items) because Id likely abuse it. Do you propose no enchanting at all, or just limiting its use in some way? And what about fast travelling to the inside/outside of a town? Like say I just want to leave the town quickly so I choose to fast-travel to its stables area? I think thats okay because there wouldnt be any enemies/threats on the way. Its obviously not the same as fast-travelling from Whiterun to Markarth.
  8. With the crosshair, aiming is super easy. Without the crosshair, it takes some getting used to. Since I dont aim consistently without crosshair while running, i think its more realistic/difficult, and I enjoy the feeling and challenge. Also landing a long shot or quick shot is more satisfying.
  9. I started it last night and so far I've died twice. I wont bother uploading until Ive made it through the game far enough. Id hate for people to watch ten 2 hour attempts that all turn out to be fails. If I die many more time in the process it would make a funny blooper reel.
  10. Im going to do a let's play of no deaths on master difficulty. if my char dies then thats the end. haha, do you think i will make it? could be interesting. also no crosshair and no sneak crosshair
  11. He doesnt show his gear and he doesnt tell the difficulty it would be cool to do this on master with store bought or found gear only (not self enchanted or cheat items) improved is ok so long as you didnt improve it while super buffed by 75% improve and potions i used enchanting a lot on my last game and it become absurd. not much challenge in it, so i not do that next time. plus i dont want to sit there for hours just trying to train enchanting legit.
  12. It makes sense for the devs to purposely make dragons less difficult. They want to appeal to more people, and increasing the dragon difficulty could potential ruin the game for some people. But we are talking about modding it which is a different story :D Agree with all the cool ideas in this thread!
  13. Not really what you're asking but heres how I increased my enchanting... I made a weapon (bow) with capture soul in 1 second (get maximum charges and it works fine). Then I routinely checked merchants that sold soul gems and bought up all their blanks. Then just go do some quests or wander in a wilderness area like west of Whiterun. The easiest thing to make and then enchant is iron daggers (in terms of resources, only 1 ingot 1 leather strip). They will also up your smithing, obviously. Just put the best enchant you can on them, and sell the enchanted daggers for a good wad of cash.
  14. I agree with you to some degree, but keep in mind it is an RPG so HP > headshot. Anyway, with the sneak shot 3x perk and the critical damage bonus perk you will essentially be doing the same thing most of the time - especially if you have + bow damage % gear. I would like something like this if the overall difficulty is increased substantially. If I was going to make a mod I'd probably increase the damage multiplier for headshots on most but not all things. For me the game needs to have a lot more enemies attacking me all at once to be difficult, plus each enemy would need to have some special random stat or ability to make me change my strategy. As it is now I just sneak, shoot, sneak, shoot, run, shoot, etc etc.
  15. Thanks for all the feedback. I really like what broccoli said about magic immunity, ability to see hidden, enchanted weapon. Those are the sorts of features that make things interesting, especially if they are random on each playthrough. Skyrim is the best RPG Ive ever played, but yes it could be even better and thats exciting.
