I recently reinstalled skyrim using all the mods and tweaks I used to use. I later stumbled over a few post saying that these three tweaks (under skyrim.ini general section): uInterior Cell Buffer=12, uExterior Cell Buffer=144, iNumHWThreads=8, are harmful or useless. Specially that "hwthreads" can cause havoc engine crashes. Though I currently have only had two random seemingly harmless crashes on my level 30 character, I'm worried that as I progress through the game crashes will get more frequent. My question is 1: Are they actually harmful, 2: Will just removing and continuing current save be ok, or 3: Do I need to simply start a new save or completely reinstall skyrim to fix it?

Just realized that by default my enblocal has ReduceSystemMemoryUsage:false so much for week of work ;p. Atleast i can enjoy skyrim now

I've tried VideoMemorySizeMb to the proper value for my system when I was last trouble shooting and it was still reaching 3.1. I'll try the others and get back to you

I have been banging my head against a wall thinking a mod conflict was causing a ctd in a certain area (embershard mine). Turns out that area is simply ram intensive and I'm hitting the 3.1 limit. Problem is i only have about 50 or so mods. Skyrim 2k and verdant are using 1k versions. I'd like to keep aft and the follower mods if at all possible. I'm working on cherry picking but i've been trying to solve this to week with to no avail. Note that I'm using all the amideanborn book of silence packs as well as enhanced blood textures. Might sound weird but just double check that all your plugins are activated, specifically dlc. As far as I know startup ctd is almost always caused by a missing master

Sorry knew I was forgetting something. Fully system specs are: x2 gtx 980ti sli (6gb vram) i7 6700k samsung 850ssd 16 gigs of ram Smim, 2k textures, Amideanborn book of silence, Better Males, and rustic children are all of the texture mods i have that do not have plugins, all installed in that order if my im remembering properly. The missing textures alone wouldnt be too much of a problem, the ctds are my main worry, everything combined is an awful lot of trouble shooting which has already added up to weeks of fresh installs and starting from scratch.

Also note that the problems persist with verdant at the bottom of the load order, and as loot wanted to keep it about the middle, I decided to leave it in hopes that it would fix it.

I've been trying to get my load order to work for weeks now to no avail, I've used virtually all of the mods before on a previous installation of skyrim and never had any issue. I've had random missing textures (plain purple mesh) and randoms ctds, Specifically when going from riverwood to embershard mine. I checked my ram and temps. Even when placing a 200 npc my temps stayed around 76 and vram peaked at about 2.25 gigs.
