  1. | Not sure how far along this mod has gotten since its inception, however the biggest thing I've noticed is that unless mod creator already can do a decent amount of the work themselves, it's best to start small. Over ambitious projects tend to loose steam because so much work is required and there's no one to back it up. This actually happened to a project of my own for New Vegas. So it's best to pace yourself. If your main project still isn't gaining enough speed, think smaller. Rather than creating tons of new material for a big mod, use current models and just retexture them to fit your needs. Instead of creating a new worldspace or adding a lot of new buildings, repurpose pre-existing buildings that don't overlap with major plot/side quests. Once the smaller project is finished, assuming it does well you'll have more experience and notoriety within the community. This would allow you to have the potential to bring in more people for future projects, like what you originally set out to accomplish here. I was looking to do a similar mod with F4 involving the Enclave, so that being said I'd be interested in helping out if possible. While I currently don't have any skills with Blender/3DS Max (slowly learning though), I'd be able to help seek out potential texture artists and modelers. I'd say I could help with the story, but it seems you already have someone filling that position. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing this mod progress and wish you the best of luck! |
  2. | I could certainly see power armor being dropped from a Vertibird with no issues, given that canonically speaking BoS soldiers were able to jump from the Prydwen without any issues. I believe there's even a "challenge" to jump off higher locations. It could be used to drop soldiers behind enemy lines or to just bring your own personal (last used) power armor to you. Obviously if someone ended up creating something that'd shoot it from orbit, I'd expect the armor to be in a streamline pod with a shock absorbent interior. Either way, it'd be a pretty cool mod. Nice idea OP! |
  3. | The mod is still being worked on, bit by bit. I'll PM you the details. |
  4. | Heh, well I'd certainly need the skills that were used to create it. Your work it pretty impressive! Having four different "DLCs" for a mission at Buena Vista, Vault 0, and two new places would be wonderful idea. What do you think of the mod in general? |
  5. | Greetings all! This is simply a post to see what the Fallout/modding community would think about an AU (alternate universe) mod for New Vegas. When Bethesda gained control of the FOU, they declared the game Fallout Tactics to be non-canonical. Basically saying it's just a game and the story holds no real footing in the lore. A small nod was made to it in F3 saying the Chicago branch of the Brotherhood of Steel "went rogue", but that's about all we've gotten to my knowledge. My suggestion is to create a mod that features what would have happened if the events of Tactics would have remained canon. This would allow the Mid-Western branch of the BoS to become the leading dominant power east of the Colorado River, rather than Caesar's Legion. My personal canon ending would be the following: Fast forward to 2276, the Mid-Western Brotherhood has now established a rather large territory for themselves. They've sent an envoy further West to meet with the original Elders who had "banished" them to the East. Once nearing New Vegas they find out that not only is the Western branch a shell of it's former self, but that the NCR is now effectively hunting down any BoS survivors. Along with having taken over Hoover Dam. From then on the story parallels that of FNVs pretty closely. Everything is the same, except the Mid-Western BoS is now the in place of all the Legion encampments. Note that the MW-BoS was willing to accept just about any type of Human, Mutant or Creature within their ranks. (So long as they passed trails and continued to contribute) They were much more laid back about who was able to join the Brotherhood. This allowed Tribals, Ghouls, Super-Mutants and even a small group of intelligent Deathclaws to join the ranks. Places like The Fort, Legate's Camp, Cottonwood Cove and other Legion locations would now be completely revamped to have a BoS feel to it. This would include completely new models/textures for the locations. Rather than just replacing the Legion NPCs with BoS NPCs, and the locations still having the same Roman-esque theme. These locations would also include new weapons, robots, vehicles and clothes/armor additions seen in the FOT game. For those of you who haven't seen the gameI suggest clicking on the links seen through the post. They'll take you to several of the various different wiki pages that have information about the game. If you didn't see them, then click here. Please note, I do realize that something like this would be a pretty daunting and massive task. It's just something I've had on my mind for quite a while now. Especially since my own mod, that I've been working on and off with a friend, would fit perfectly in this AU as a potential expansion (DLC) to the story. Kinda like Dead Money, Lonesome Road and so on. Heck in the future if the mod was successful we could end up having the Courier travel east to Colorado to visit Vault 0. So what do you all think of this? Could this be something the community would enjoy? Is there anything you'd want to add or do differently? If you're interested in possibly starting up something for this potential mod or would like to help with my other AU mod, please feel free to PM me! |
  6. | Just finished watching the video. There's a few minor things I noticed that were "off" about the tanks, but aside from that you've done an outstanding job. Love how they can be controlled by the player or set as a "companion". I'm very much looking forward to seeing these and your other vehicles in action on The Frontier. Can't wait to see the next episode about armor additions. Keeping my fingers crossed that we''ll get a good look at that Helghan-esque set. P.s. Sherman Jr. is the cutest thing ever! So glad you guys are being interviewed by Al'. |
  7. | Ah, interesting. I'm curious to see how that'll play out then. From what I've seen thus far it all looks pretty awesome. I'll be sure to keep my eye on the site and FB for any more info though. | | That sounds great! Will they be reminiscent of the designs seen in Tactics, something of your teams own design or a little of both? |
  8. | Since the subject of vehicles was brought up I have a quick question, if it's not a spoiler. Is the Frontier-based Legion army more open to the use of technology than their Mojave counter parts? Rather than using tanks, cars and artillery, I always imagined Legion forces having their own makeshift catapults, wagons/chariots and ballistas. |
  9. | Very awesome indeed! You guys have seriously outdone yourselves with this mod. I can't wait to see more of it. Especially looking forward to the Helghan-equse enemies/equipment. Keep up the great work. |
  10. Currently the project is at a standstill. Most of the people working on the project, including myself, are busy with other things or have moved on. This mod is certainly not being discarded or left for dead, and any help would be appreciated. If you have any questions about it feel free to ask. Cheers!
  11. Note: This project is not dead, it's only on hold as most of our members have been busy with actual work or life in general. Any help would be greatly appreciate! I've sent you a PM, if you're still interested in the position. Cheers!
  12. Hello again everyone! This thread is a shout-out to community for some help on the Ties That Bind quest mod. Obviously since this is a WIP, help is most certainly needed and appreciated. If you'd like to join the project please contact me via PM. We are urgently in need of an experienced map maker that is available. If anyone happens to know one please send them our way. The person who was originally meant to work on our world seems to have not been on for quite some time now. Otherwise here's a list of the positions that need filled. World Builder Modelers Animators Concept Artists Texture Artists Experienced Nav-mesher Again if you have any information to share or wish to help, please contact me via this page or PM. Thanks for your time!
  13. Typically I try to avoid double posting, however this is kind of an update. It's some work one of our project members did. Here's the modified version of the Remnants Bunker. Let us know what you think! http://i.imgur.com/VOzlj5K.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6uMzmIZ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/OS2brHq.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Jjwktpl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/FWWqcZk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/oV0eoYm.jpg http://i.imgur.com/tC21UbP.jpg
  14. I appreciate the help! Sadly you are correct, as neither of those are suitable for this mod's world space. It takes place in the Great Basin National Park, which is full of mountainous terrain and lush greenery. Only about half of the map will resemble the environment that makes up the Mojave Wasteland. Thanks again though.
  15. It actually is! Even if you're not a big lore fan, all the walking and talking is really worth the time because of what you can get from Arcade. I was pleasantly surprised after completing the quest on my second run through the game. By the way, if anyone happens to know an experienced map maker that is available please send them our way. The person who was originally meant to work on our world seems to have not been on for quite some time now.
