  1. Okay so what does NMM2 intend to do? Catalogue, sort and maintain mods for multiple games. So why not call it The Nexus Librarian. Or The Librarian. I mean sure it reeks of Magic the Gathering but throw it on a clothes line outside for a bit and it will air out.

  2. The same thing that was going on last weekend and the weekend before that -- a lot of people trying to use the service all at once due to the release of Skyrim SE. As we've said already, once the traffic dies down a little, things will be back to normal.

We've been working around the clock (literally, people have been up all night on weekends) to optimise things as much as possible. Now you just need to be patient.

Oh wow I assumed that initial crush would be over by now. And if I'm perfectly honest I forgot about your post mentioning SE slamming the servers. So my bad. All apologies.

    Thank you for the response!

There's a huge new release in the works with some new features and tons of bugfixes, this is also going to be fixed in it.

This issue will be fixed in the upcoming new release.

Just to be more specific about this issue, the function NMM uses has been disabled server-side until the web team tweaks its performances:
since the "recent" influx of new Fallout 4 NMM users we found out that the many calls to the function were killing the whole website.

Currently I got no ETA, but I'll keep you updated.
with little more than a week to go it's been TWO MONTHS since the Nexus crew showed any signs of life on this matter.
    How about it guys ?
Have you figured out how to handle more people using Nexus?
seriously , amateuristic to say the least :wallbash:

Dude you need to be patient. They are too busy creating a social media presence to care about us pesky users. /sarcasm Seriously though I gave up on NMM a while ago. Its never actually worked correctly, and the complete apathy on this bug is pretty telling. I tried being patient with them but honestly I switch to Mod Organizer. Even it is beta state, its better. Largely because it works. In six or seven years when they bother to release another update maybe I'll take a look.

Though I have to say this is pretty disappointing. I got the life time membership in part because of NMM. Yet I can't reasonably use it. If I have to manually check every mod for an update I might as well just manually install the mods. Between the lack of updates, the absence of communication, and the apparent apathy towards us you'd think they are in a contest with Niantic for worst customer service.

I get this is a small company with limited resources but I refuse to believe they can't have the programmer spend 20 minutes to fix the bug in the current build and push it out to us. There is no reason why we should have to wait months for the next version with more "functionality" to fix this bug.

  4. 1. Buy premium membership on Nexus.

    2. Witcher 3 gets new content and patch. Mods become out of date & incompatible.

    3. NMM doesn't and won't update mods.

    4. Can't play Witcher 3.

    5. Sad user

To be fair you can manually check the mods you use for updates and download/install them as normal. At least for Fallout 4. Hopefully this helps you until they get a patch out.

I came here searching for this exact issue, and find it incredibly depressing that this has been going on for so long with no solution.

I know it was said that the server simply isn't responding to these requests, but this seems untrue because Mod Organizer can detect when new mods are available on The Nexus... but their own program can't.

MO is using a different server call than NMM (latest NMM version were designed to use a new upgraded function).

Forgive my confusion but I want to get this straight. You've know this new server call hasn't worked for several releases. You told us you already have a fix for the next version. Two weeks ago BlindJudge asked for more people to help with the NMM focus group, which is corporate speak for we are still designing the damn thing and we want to know what sticks. Which tells me the next version is still a ways out. So why won't you release a new hotfix that either fixed the "new" (broken) call or rolls back to the old call until you can actually release one that works?

I understand this is a small site on a shoe string budget but come on guys. You can't have your developer(s) spend an afternoon rolling out a version with a update function that works?

  6. Hello!

I recently installed the GITS armor mod and ran into a curious bug. I've already contacted the mod author but they did not know how to fix the problem, thus I turn here in hopes of fixing the issue.

On any version of the mod if the character controlled by the player is female they can modify any and all options of the armor. Color, lining, and so on.

However, and this is the weird part, if the character controlled by the player is male they can not modify the armor. When a piece from the set is pulled up on the workbench no options are availible for modifcation.

    Steps I've taken so far:

Uninstalled all mods then installed only GITS.
Poked at it with FO4Edit I didn't see anything obviously wrong.

Poked at it with Creation Kit still didn't see anything wrong.

Started changing/adding/removing things in the CK.

After about 4 hours of messing with this I have no idea what is wrong. I'd really appreciate some help with this!

    Thank you,
    Cavik

  7. Can I suggest a compromise between checking for updates every time NMM is launched and having the user do it manually? Let NMM check for updates on a schedule. It can be any sort of schedule really, after x number of starts it looks for an update, on the 15th of every month it looks for an update, or even after 2 weeks it looks for an update.

All other behavior should remain the same. Ask the user if they want an update and so on.

I believe this is a better solution, assuming I understand the OP. Its a nice middle ground that benefits users, we are a forgetful bunch and may not think to log in and check for updates, and it helps elevate support troubles/costs by helping users keep up to date with the latest version of NMM.

Thanks for all the hard work, NMM rocks!
