  1. I've got a similar issue, I must have installed something around November since at some point, my saves require several tries to load. I doubt it's savegame corruption, everything works fine once I get the game to load (and it happens after the first 2 or 3 times I save). In fact, in game CTD's are no longer a concern for me, I get them extremely rarely.
  2. Yesterday I tried to browse through a couple of picture galeries (as in their actual profiles), but it seems to be stuck at the first page and this problem is still ongoing. It doesn't matter what sorting order I use, which function I try to use to search through them (whether it's a page's number, the arrows, the last page button or manually wrtiting a page's number). I assume it's due to the recent problems the sites had, but I wanted to know if it's an isolated issue and whether or not it was adressed.
  3. It's a hoax, the way they are handling this makes no sense. They always put up teasers in know domains or sources anyway. Here's some deep research into the matter of this domain, explaining why it's a hoax: http://newfallout.com/is-the-survivor-2299-fake/
  4. I remember this one where you cleaned up a falmer infested lighthouse where a redguard family tried to settle in (and got murdered when the falmer broke in through the basement) and you had the option to throw the remains of one of the members of said family into the lighthouse's fire since you figured out from a journal that it was his last wish. Upon doing so, you'd get a permanent bonification to the ammount of health any restoration spell gave you. Said effect shows up at the effects tab, but I'm not entirely sure if adding it like you would a spell would work (I know at least some of them are categorized as spells, but I never tried if adding them directly would make them work as intended).
  5. I have no idea what's causing it. I tried starting a new game with no mods (save for the unofficial patches and start another life, which are essential and have always worked fine for me) but the problem still persists. I'll try renaming the meshes and textures folder to something else and do some research to see if I can restore the ini files to whatever default values they had before I have to resort to reinstalling the whole thing.
  6. As far as I can tell, all of them can be done without much effort (but you'll have to take a lot of notes for commands and codes and you'll have to type a lot of stuff in game). Also, certain quests grant you permanent magical effects to your character, I think they are added as spells, but I'm not sure.
  7. So, I've been playing Skyrim ever since it was released and only recently (speaking about maybe a few months, half a year at maximum) I noticed that distant land outside both Skyrim and Sosltheim becomes a bunch of random generated stuff forming a square that surrounds the entire area (and it's way more noticeable on the sea). Basically, when I look at the horizon all I see is a lot of land over the water that shouldn't be there. Upon closer examination, it just vanishes, although the world map clearly points out a bunch of perfectly defined, square land surrounding the map. Due to Solstheim being an island, it becomes much more apparent there. I'm going to attach a couple of links to shots of the issue (I took the three of them at Solstheim to make it easier to see, but as I said, it does happen at Skyrim too) and I hope anyone out there seeing this has any idea of what's happening. The first one is of the map (the square pattern I'm talking about is clearly visible here) http://www.flickr.com/photos/95301000@N08/10052807343/ Then a shot of how the bug appears when I'm playing; http://www.flickr.com/photos/95301000@N08/10052694575/ Then a shot of how everything looks fine when I get cose enough; http://www.flickr.com/photos/95301000@N08/10052635344/ While this issue isn't gamebreaking or anything (I keep a tidy and relatively small load order, sort with BOSS and the game is overall quite stable), it's certainly bugging me, specially at my beloved Solstheim, so I'd greatly appreciate any help or tips.
  8. I agree with the gender thing. There should be straight, gay and bisexual characters. Or just some way to determine that yourself.
  9. Thanks for the fast reply, I was affraid I'd have a hard time getting a response on such an old project on an already old community. It looks like it's a somewhat dead project, though it's not hard to just track the thing and wait for updates. Thanks again.
  10. A couple of years ago or so, I heard about some project to make a mod involving the lone wanderer's sister. I'm pretty sure it released at some point, but I wasn't interested back then and thus never kept track of it. Now, I really like the idea of traveling around with my character's sister, but I can't find said mod. I'd greatly appreciate to know it's name, it's author's name or whatever.
  11. Well, I mostly play the a-bit-crazed-yet-good-hearted-hero character type, but sometimes, I enjoy playing as messed up villains. Both of you gave me a bunch of good ideas on how to create a solid and beliveable female legion character, so thank you! Edit: As for her traumatic background, maybe she was unable to protect her loved ones even though she had some skills, thus leading to her self hate?
  12. That makes sense, but it bothers me how while Caesar and other high ranking legion individuals respect you, the bulk of the legion still treats you like meat. I think Obsidian should have worked on that detail a bit more, but it's still a good idea and even Ulysses is surprised by seeing a female Courier working for the legion, commenting on how such a static organization is prone to eventually change (in regards of women working for them as something else than meat). Edit: Oh and btw, welcome to those forums, though it seems the fallout ones aren't as active as they used to be with all the Skyrim activity (a game I had to uninstall for like a fourth time after getting important features to break, making parts of the game unplayable).
  13. So yeah, I want to start a legion character, but I never tried a female one for more than a while (more for testing pruposes, actually) mostly because I can't find any good reason for my hypotetical female character to support the legion. I tried the ruthless mercenary reason, but that's the opposite to original for obvious reasons and the idealistic reason doesn't make sense because it would mean said woman would have to believe in the legion's ideology. So why not? because the legion believes women only have the prupose to serve men and breed, something said character would believe as well (and that would prevent her from fighting). I guess the fact Caesar himself sends an invitation to the Courier to work for the legion regardless of gender would mean said female, legion idealistic courier would believe her to have a greater prupose than the average woman, but I'm not sure that's a solid reason either.
  14. Okay, so as many of you have probably noticed, in the vanilla game there isn't much of an immersion value on being a vampire, except for everyone trying to beat the hell out of you when you get to stage 4. Dawnguard fixed some of those issues by adding people more aware of vampirism rather than quick rage episodes (I'm refering to the Dawnguard organization itself) and actually "friendly" vampires with their own clan which you can actually join by invitation (the Volkihar clan). However, there's still an issue that remains; daedric lords. You see, it's odd enough when Meridia can't notice your undead nature as a vampire, but it drives me nuts when Molag Bal can't tell he's giving a task to one of his own creations. Molag's bal case is specially annoying not just because he can't tell I'm a vampire, but also because he calls me "mortal" once. If only the devs didn't decide to put that little word there, the immersion value of that quest would have been completely different. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not a maniac of immersion, but it makes my game way more enjoyable for me. So, I was wondering if anyone knows a way to change that or is willing to make that change and get daedric lords to aknowledge me as a vampire (I believe their power and interaction capabilities on Nirn should be enough for them to tell). If dragons were able to aswell, it would be a plus, since they can only tell I'm a Dovahkiin, and those are mortal by "default", even if they have the soul of a dragon.
  15. I like using light armor and sneaking upon my enemies to overwhelm them with sniper rifles or my beloved "Got Wood" from Ruadhan2300. I keep Spike (baby deatchlaw commander from FO3Phalanx) and Willow (from llamaRCA) close to me in case I don't finish them off quickly enough. My character is smart, agile and skilled in sneak, guns, energy weapons and science (because of the Tag! perk).
