Hey gang, Does anyone know of a mod that just makes building free? I want to build fancy bases but I couldn't be bothered to go around collecting all the materials. All the building mods on nexus do other things like add building parts or change building restrictions. I don't want to change the game in any way, I just want to build my base for free. If anyone knows of such a mod, I would immensely appreciate it. Thank you!

Are you using Mod Organizer? It uses its own INI files that are stored in your profile folder. They can be edited from within Mod Organizer.

Hey gang, Does anyone know how to disable adaptive lighting? If I'm roaming outdoors and walk into a shaded or covered building, my lighting darkens quite a bit. Was wondering if anyone knew how to disable that.

I tried with no mods enabled. I am still getting this bug.

No ENB. I do have lighting mods, but I've disabled all mods and ran it vanilla with the same lighting issue. I don't know what to do :( I actually prefer the backlit and would love it to stay that way, but I don't know how.

So I noticed something today. It always bothered me that the pipboy light left my character dark. However, I never noticed that when you first turn it on, it actually lights up your character until you either zoom with a weapon or go into the pipboy screen. Then it goes black. I never noticed because I'm in the pipboy a lot or scoping. Anyone know how to make it always light up from behind? I attached an image showing what I mean. Maybe it could be modded, or it's an INI setting? I don't know how these things work. Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Edit: I know the animation changed, that doesn't affect the lighting. Even if I holster my weapon, I'm still blacked out. Now that I know about this "glitch" I'm constantly turning my light off and back on when I go back to third person - which is super annoying lol.

Hello everyone, I've been playing and modding skyrim off and on since it was initially released. A long time ago, I "corrupted" a save file with this weird facial paint glitch. I kept playing with that save file because it was easy to fix, but I had to do it every time I started Skyrim. I didn't bother trying to fix it because I thought the damage was irreversible...until today. I reinstalled the game from scratch, and re-downloaded every single mod. I loaded my save game before installing any mods so that it would wipe out any strange data. Lo and behold, I didn't have any face paint on. So I started reinstalling all the mods. After reinstalling Enhanced Character Edit and Better Females (I should have done them seperately) the face paint showed up again. I looked into Better Females by Bella and there are no face paints included in that mod so I'm left to assume that ECE caused this problem. When I load the save file that I saved before installing the mods (meaning my character appearance had defaulted) the paint wasn't there. It only shows up after I load a save file that had been previously edited by ECE. I love ECE, it makes my character all pretty-like and would be hard to live without. Does anyone know what could cause this problem? Here is a screenshot of the tattoo it keeps applying. The tattoo instantly vanishes the moment I input showracemenu into the console. And it will reappear the next time I load any save file that ECE was used with.

It is an old save. But it's the one I've been using since I got the game. I've never had any problems (Aside from a face tattoo that keeps reappearing). I didn't change to imperial from Showracemenu as that breaks your XP. I did it using player.setrace and then using showracemenu to adjust it.

Hello everyone! I've spent the last 4 hours trying to fix an issue with my game. When I first beat Dawnguard DLC, years ago, I was a Breton. I switched to Imperial after curing myself of Vampirism. I recently decided to go back to Soul Cairn to finish up some quests, so I had Serana turn me into a Vampire again. Now when I transform into a Vampire Lord and then back into my regular form, I am Breton again and my skin tone is darker. I edited myself in ShowRaceMenu to have lighter skin, but my face texture remains dark. Also, when I change form back to human, I'm wearing two layers of armor...I can only imagine that's because the game still has my armor when I first transformed, all those years ago, in memory. I used http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11307/? to fix the Race issue, so now I'm imperial again. So my two questions are: How do I make it so my skin tone doesn't change when I revert back to human? and Is there a permanent way to make myself Imperial? That way I don't have to have a mod in place to fix me every time I change form. These problems are making my game impossible to play right now, so I'm reverting back to before I was a vampire. Luckily I saved before asking Serana to do her thing. If anyone can help me fix this, I would be eternally grateful. And yes, I did Google this issue for hours, a lot of people have experienced similar things, but no one has posted a clear fix to anything. I planned on doing the Werewolf level 11 achievement as well, but from what I've read, there is similar problems with Werewolf transformations. P.S.: I'm not sure it matters, but I'm using CBBE with SG Texture Renewal.

Has anyone created a mod that stops time while fast travelling? I hate that I have no sense of the progress of time in this game. I fast travel and it's night, then moments later it's day, then night, etc. I want time to not move when I fast travel, that way I get a sense of progression with my days. I realize this isn't realistic, that it takes time to get from point A to point B, but I'm sick of it being night every time I fast travel and then having to wait 10 hours for daytime.

Well I have a second low level character and the issue is present there as well.

Hello Ishara, Thank you for the reply! I also thought it would be a complexion issue. But I played with all the sliders in the Head category, and most other categories for that matter, and none of them seem to fix the issue. I've resorted to using SG texture renewal for now, I'll just have to get used to not being able to change skin mods. I know CBBE uses a different map, that's why I asked if anyone had a version for UNP. :P While removing CBBE, I also uninstalled Bella's better females and HAGs tattoos, and now each time I load a save, my character has a large tattoo across her face. When I open ShowRaceMenu it vanishes immediately. You wouldn't happen to know why this happens? I tried reinstalling said mods, but HAGs was never suppose to work with my system, since I use Ehanced Character Edit and not RaceMenu. And I don't think Bella's has tattoos. I really don't understand. I had installed HAGs a long time ago and forgotten about it, it had never worked because I didn't want to uninstall ECE. Why is there suddenly tattoos on my face? Once I uninstalled Bella's and HAGs shouldn't it have gotten rid of the tattoo textures?

Hello gang! I've been using CBBE for a while and wanted to try UNP to change things up. This is my CBBE character: http://i.imgur.com/tidzfF0.jpg And after I installed UNP: http://i.imgur.com/30YaVoa.jpg Anyone know why my character goes from pretty to wretched old hag just because I switched to UNP? If I install SG Texture Renewal mod this problem goes away, she looks pretty again. But I want to use a more soft skin mod. Any other skin mod looks like this. I've tried 4 so far. SG being the only normal one. In the UNP picture I'm using the "Fair Skin Complexion Sweaty Body-UNP-UNPB-UNPC" skin mod. On a side note, is there a way to get the CBBE skin for UNP? I like how soft it is.

I got a new video card and ENB since creating this thread, and the problem has ceased. So, if anyone else gets this problem, try updating your driver and/or ENB. I was using Project ENB at the time, for reference. I'm now using my own that I created based on Seasons of Skyrim cinematic HD6.

So I finally got my Skyrim looking spectacular...in every situation but really really dark. Well, lets turn the light off: http://i.imgur.com/0DGnQbE.jpg (You might have to zoom in, when it's smaller you can't see the odd contrast/gamma glitch) Anyway, I'm pretty sure it's my ENB causing this, but I really don't want to change anything. I was hoping there was a quick and easy fix. Visual mods I'm running: Climates of Tamriel Ehanced Lights and FX Pure Waters Project ENB - Cinematic ELFX interiors and exteriors are installed. On a side note, does anyone know why the night-darkness option I chose doesn't seem to affect Dragonborn? And yes, I have the Dragonborn patch, the weathers seem to work, but my nights are pretty bright compared to when I'm in Skyrim. P.S.: What's the console command to check if COT is actually running? Thanks everyone! Hope I can fix this easily :( Like, an ENB setting change or something. I played around with the Shift-Enter menu for a while, couldn't find the right setting.

Hey there, what does the bash patch do? I looked into it vaguely, it seems really complicated to install. Does anyone have a guide for the NV install? There's a lot of TES explanations...

Although I already know it's a corrupt save, there'd be no harm in trying a patch. Where would I find these patches?

I know there are save editors for the xbox 360, I don't know whether they are compatible with the PC though. Your best bet would be the command console. You can instantly complete quests, advance levels, add perks and items etc. Did you try loading an earlier save on the same character? Also, You can download another persons save file who was at a similar point in the game as you and then download psychoelfs character editor to change the special stats, your characters look etc etc. Someone on here might be generous enough to do it for you if you don't have the time. I would but unfortunately my game doesn't even work at the moment... I'm trying to re install right now to see if it resolves the issues with crashing... Trust me, having the game screw up and basically losing money is a lot worse than a corrupt save file, which can surprisingly be replaced quite quickly :P Yea, I know what I'm asking for is impossible lol Yes, all saves with that character are corrupt And auto-completing quests would take a lot of time too I was just hoping there was some way to import all the quest information into a new save file Thanks for the recommendations though!

Well im pretty sure that everytime you save it creates a backup. Im not sure where it is located though, I'll have a look for you. For now I suggest loading an earlier save on the same character and go to the same spot to see if it crashes. Or you can create a new game (for testing purposes) use the console and type tgm to give you God mode, go the same spot and test it. If I cant find the backup or the backup is also corrupted then there is nothing more than can be done that I am aware of. Just avoid that area (I dont think the Hidden Valley is an essential area of the game quest wise) in the current save. Or you could start a new game (assuming it is a save issue) and use the console to instantly complete quests, teleport to quest areas, level up, give you items etc etc. or even if you were able to just insert where I was in the quest lines I would be able to change levels and items myself. Is there a way to create a new game then, from an old save, insert your place in the quest lines? *EDIT* I cant find the folder where these backups are kept... Sorry bud. As a last resort (if you are running on steam) try defragging the cache files by right clicking the FONV icon in the game library, properties - locals files. Either verify the game cache of defrag. That's all I can think of atm. You're right, it's a corrupt save. This is VERY unfortunate. I really wanted to play this game, but I can't start over, it took me so long to get to where I am. If ever anyone figures out a way to create a new game then import all the essential save data (level, items, location, quests completed, map markers, etc) into it and keep all other data the same, then post on this forum. I'll check it occasionally to see if anyone finds anything. Thanks again for your help everyone. This is frustrating, I would rather something be wrong with my computer!

Good ideas, The corrupt save idea didn't occur to me. That's highly possible. I'm crashing when I run about 10 feet forward on the pictures in the hidden valley. Not entering anywhere, just out in the open. I don't have an nVidia card installed anymore, I installed a radeon HD 5750 to test that. Still crashes. Is there any way to recover a corrupt save? I really can't restart at this point, I don't have enough time to play video games that much.
