  1. Since no one has mentioned it, the Merge Plugins utility on Nexus' Oldrim site has been updated to be used with SSE. Also, I have just a few over the limit for now, but on Oldrim I was at least 50 over. I like having lots of followers installed, and sometimes one mod has a ton of plugins (like my preference-- WICO). So I have used Merge Plugins to merge esps from the same mod. I wind up having several small plugins of merged mods.
  2. I don't normally post things, but I will this time... First of all a little explanation. I'm currently having issues, yes. I suspect it's likely a mod order problem or something, nothing out of the ordinary, so I'm currently troubleshooting (I know how to, thanks to all the lovely people who post). When I start Skyrim, I keep getting a SkyUI error. First I rearranged my mods, put SkyUI near the bottom, that didn't work. I thought maybe reinstalling would work, but I got SEVERAL errors from Mod Organizer. I tried again, same thing. I tried to redownload, and got an error saying I don't have rights to do that. I tried deleting SkyUI, another error saying I have no rights. I'm an administrator on my computer, however I'm unable to access my Skyrim mods. I have a warning to everyone. There's a LOT of bad advice about how to make Skyrim work better. Lots of bad ini changes (a simple blood texture caused me to CTD upon loading), lots of "try this". My advice: See if it works for other people first. I have a virus scanner going currently just in case (I use Malwarebytes, it's yet to find anything but it's doing a full scan), but what I really think caused this issue was someone said to switch EVERY executable for Skyrim (The launcher, SKSE, CK, and Skyrim itself) to compatibility mode with Windows XP. If you did that, I recommend taking it off, or switching it to something more up-to-date (Vista, perhaps?). If you're really having computer trouble, I personally love Tweaking- Windows Repair (All in One). You click the link under the release notification, and choose a place to download it. You can place it on a thumb drive (aka flash drive/USB drive) and have it fix issues for you. If I have rights problems after my antivirus finishes, I'm going to use that for sure. A word of advice: Follow ALL of the instructions if you use Tweaking. If you don't, it won't work properly and you will continue to have problems. If you're having ctd's, follow the instructions given to you on the site. My first suggestion is to download LOOT. It's great for helping with mod order issues. If you need a visual look at how to install it properly, I recommend looking at Gopher's YouTube videos. He's very informative and tries to explain things as he goes along. USUALLY ctd's are mod order problems. You really need to follow installation instructions to ensure you have everything in the correct order. Another recommendation is to keep uGridsToLoad at 5, as many people have problems when that's changed. A Bethesda Employee even said that was the best setting for it. SOME people's computers can handle it (mine probably COULD, but I prefer performance over beauty... That said, I still have textures installed), many can't. Especially if it's a computer you didn't build yourself and you don't know/understand what's actually IN it. Many mods I've encountered require SKSE to work properly, and I recommend downloading that as well. Then there's Skyrim Performance PLUS and Skyrim Performance Monitor which could help with other aspects of gameplay issues. For help making your game pretty yet functional, S.T.E.P. is a good resource for the beginnings of modding Skyrim. It really helped me out until I felt confident enough to download mods from Nexus and GEMS. By the way, apparently people don't read what they need to, from what I read in descriptions/forums/comments. The mods on GEMS are NOT guaranteed to work with each other! It's a great place to find what you're looking for, but check compatibility. If it's the same TYPE of mod (2 weather mods, 2 mods that change the same city, etc), you'll probably have to pick and choose. Luckily if you GOOGLE the mods "vs" each other, (such as UFO vs AFT vs EFF) you'll probably find an article or, better yet, a youtube video comparing them. That's how I decided between several mods I liked. You can also try them out yourself without looking, though that can be quite time consuming. Many mods have patches for incompatibilities; RS Children Overhaul and Interesting NPCs (aka 3DNPC) both have several patches for several incompatible mods. If you're having issues, you may want to check for a patch. If you want variations of creatures in Skyrim, Automatic Variants is a great way to do that, but FOLLOW THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. In fact, watch Gopher's video as he shows you how to do it the right way: Mod Sanctuary: Automatic Variants. Unfortunately, most of the links on the AV mod page showcased several mod authors who did NOT package their textures properly (at least when using Mod Organizer) so I had to manually install them, following Gopher's example. One thing I forgot to mention, SkyUI can be quite helpful... Personally, I only use it for the MCM menu. The MCM menu is quite convenient, and several mods use this feature so the users can fine-tune the mod to their liking. Perhaps you'll enjoy the appearance changes SkyUI implements as well. Either way, give it a try. Okay, that was more long winded than I expected. I started typing and just figured I'd put several helpful links together. Anyway, if you're having problems, I'd start by googling it. I've managed to fix my really bad problems without asking for help (meaning CTD's/crashes; I tend to ignore falling through the floor and floating objects) just by googling the problem and finding answers elsewhere. If you try whatever you find, but you still have the problems, then try to ask politely for help. I know trying to get a game to work is frustrating, but have patience. The people who come on the forums or the mods comments themselves don't HAVE to help you, they're doing it to be helpful, and if you take your frustration out on them, they may just *stop* helping you and work with someone more amiable (aka friendly) and who's willing to try their suggestions.
