I'm fiddling around in the CK and I'm wondering, is it possible to pair an item that isn't typically paired with a weapon rack activator - let's say a table - with the activator itself to use it as a display surface? The cases and plaques are a little too fancy for the home I'm trying to make, so I'd love to be able to use the activators on tables and bare walls instead. I've tried linking a thin table and a weaponmidrack activator from the weapon rack, but clicking the table does nothing despite the 'activate' option coming up. Is it possible, and if so are there any examples of it in tutorials or existing mods? Thanks for any help!

Probably a dumb one, but is there a nice well-scripted mod that adds a backpack or other immersive container that goes in your inventory and can be used to hold other things, rather than just a backpack that adds to carry capacity? Apocalypse adds a great storage spell, but my new character isn't a mage so I'm looking for an alternative. Thanks!
  4. No dice. I managed to redo the debug patch by changing 2048 to 1024 according to a reddit post I found and switched the plugins around to the non-patch files are above the bashed patch, but while it now doesn't CTD I'm still not getting the new skill trees. I'm really uncertain as to what I'm doing wrong here. I'd like to avoid completely uninstalling and reinstalling everything but at this point I might need to. Any more advice? Thanks for the help thus far, I appreciate it! EDIT: It works now! I honestly have no idea what happened - I think I must have had one of the non-patch mods in the wrong spot and didn't see it because when I had them all moved down just before the bashed patch, and the patchusmaximus after, I got the right skill trees and everything. Thanks so much!
  5. Dang - I tried removing Project Ultimatum, but now I get a CTD upon logo with no error message and can't figure out why. I've redone my load order and the patch, but now the patch is giving me the error of 'thrown exception.' I'll keep fiddling, but any further advice is hugely appreciated. As for the cut throat merchants, odd, because in my NMM I only have one activated - the other two are inactive and unchecked. And I'll look into the soul gems plugin, thanks! Anyone else have other thoughts for Perkus Maximus?
  6. Hello! I hate having to ask this but I'm having trouble on my own and can't seem to figure this out. I want to give Perkus Maximus a try, but while some things register [Wintermyst in MCM menu, the change from one-handed to light weaponry] things like the Wayfarer tree or change from Pickpocket to Dexterity aren't. I've followed the instructions for installation/patching, but it still doesn't seem to be working and I suspect a mod conflict or load order problem, as I'm starting a new game every time I test it. I've been using LOOT to organize it, but to no avail. The solution might be right in front of my face, but I'm not seeing it. Thanks for any help.   7. Hello. You guys have been really helpful in the past, so I hope I can get some advice on this too. I recently build a little house mod in Ivarstead. However, it collides with a house the ETAC mod adds. I'd like to use both, so I tried loading both (neither as active plugins) and deleting the overlapping house and such, then saving it and popping it last in my load order as a patch, after my own house mod and ETAC. However, it doesn't help - both houses are still present ingame. Any idea what I'm doing wrong and how I can fix it? I know I can use the cities in modules and just not use the Ivarstead ETAC part, but I'd like to try and patch it first if I can as I really do like the mod. Thanks for any help!

  9. Hello. I made the mistake of deleting grass in a quadrant, hoping things would look better without it, but now I'd like to restore it and I'm not sure how. Anytime I click an empty line in the dialogue box for that quadrant I get 'replace or delete', but neither does anything. I can only seem to replace existing textures, but what I want to do is add a new one/restore the prior one. Is there a way to get past this? It seems odd that there isn't a clear way to add objects to the quadrant, only to replace/delete existing ones. Thanks for any help!
  10. Ahh, I see! Sorry, I misunderstood. I do have Stable Ugrids to load and SKSE with the SKSE.ini. I disabled the HR DLCs and was able to play for a good hour and a half without crashing or texture issues - texture issues did eventually come up, namely the water being entirely see-through and a weird blurriness on the map and level up screens, but nothing major. I had to close it, and later started a new game, where it crashed more quickly at about 15 minutes in, but without visible texture issues. It doesn't look like Vram is a problem, at least not here. That's the problem with Skyrim - there could be a million causes for a glitch. :P Doubt it matters, but at the time I was with an Interesting NPCs character, slaying a giant.   11. Still some CTDs and missing textures, unfortunately, although they took a bit longer to kick in this time - about an hour. I've tweaked the enblocal further to the maximum 10gb, since the drive I installed Skyrim on has plenty of room, and I'm going to try further tweaking with texture mods as I feel like it might be on to something. I don't know if this will matter, but the thing I notice missing most often is clothes - purplish or black clothing replaces it. I don't really have any texture mods specifically focusing on clothing, though.
  12. Actually, I just looked for and found a fix - apparently there's a conflict between ENB and GEforce experience, so I uninstalled the latter, and now it works! I'll play for a little while and see if removing some of the texture mods and doing this ENB tweaking helped. Thanks so much for all the help! I'll post whether or not it seems to help CTDs and graphic issues.
  13. Unfortunately, the ENB tweaks still aren't working. :( Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I have my suspicions, though - I previously used an FXAA tool for colours and such. There's not only d3d9.dll in my skyrim directory, but also some I don't know for sure are there in vanilla - atimgpud.dll, binkw32.dll, flowchartx32.dll, ssce5432.dll and skse_1_9_32.dll, although the last is of course there because I use SKSE... Ooh, weird! Okay, I just tried launching from the launcher instead of SKSE shortcut, and it worked. Can I use ENB with SKSE? How would I make it work? Also, I did downgrade some things in SMIM when I realized how heavy it was. :P I'll keep progressively going lower with other things if it helps.
  14. I tried installing it according to STEP, but it crashes now without error just after the title menu shows up. I followed the directions you linked, so I'm not sure what went wrong. As for textures, I'm using: AOF Detailed Mountains 1024 Distant Decal Fix Natural Grass Texture Floor Pletapalooza Skyrim Flora Overhaul Skyrim HD - 2K Texures LITE SMIM I got rid of some texture mods and downgraded the others to lite versions to try and help the issue. At least the shadow world seems to be gone, but I do still get random CTDs.

I've reduced all my high-texture mods to lower intensity versions, used Ordenater and just got this screenshot from SPM - which unfortunately, it looks like I'm still hitting the near cap for VRAM.   16. Thanks! As I said I did use Boss, and I'm not seeing any conflicts beyond dirty edits in the main game ESMs and with some patches for mods I no longer used, but the patches aren't activated. (I'll remove them anyway, just in case.) I'm now trying to use TE5edit to tidy things up and see if that helps. Any further thoughts?

Lately I've started running into a weird issue that I've never encountered before where I encounter almost constant missing textures (pink bodies/clothing, or dark parts on items or people), frequent crashes to desktop without error randomly or on trying to load a new area, and most oddly occasions where all the items go blackish and shadowy, and bodies disappear leaving floating heads and sometimes lower bodies that are again shadows. VERY strange looking, and all very frustrating for gameplay. I've tried different memory and .ini tweaks and tweaking my load order repeatedly, manually, with BOSS and LOOT, but nothing has helped just yet, and that ENB mod that's supposed to help with such problems has missing effects instead, such as fires not appearing and the alchemy tables missing shapes. I've also used Wryebash and it made a bash patch, but again it didn't help. I've never run into this issue before and I'm using basically the same mods as always, so at this point I'm at a loss. I'm now using the default skyrim and skyrimprefsini, and I deleted the d3d9.ll I was using as well, but again, all to no avail. Below is the essential information, so hopefully someone can puzzle this out or give advice. Thanks!   18. WHELP. I did another fresh reinstall, installed my mods again according to instructions, and made one more change that occured to me at the last second - I use Xpadder so I can play Project Nevada and have things like sprinting, and I use a mod that gives what is supposed to be an ideal Xpadder setup for it. I closed xpadder. That was it. Apparently, all it was was something with Xpadder/that configuration. MADNESS. This is the mod, in case anyone else uses it and runs into the same issue: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/49535/? I don't know if it's because I use DS3tool for my ps3 controller AND Xpadder or what it was, but closing xpadder immediately solved the issue. I can still use my controller, I just can't do things like sprint or the grenade hotkey without it. I don't know if the menus had something to do with the issue, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were a facet and conflicting somehow with the xpadder setup or something. I'll find some work around for controls, I'm sure. Leaving this here so if anyone else has this issue, they have a possible solution.

  20. Hello! I've got an issue with my game I'd like to try and sort out. Any time I try and craft anything, on a campfire, reloading bench or workbench, my game crashes to desktop. It happens after I've entered the menu for crafting and try to select to crash something - the game turns black, I get the 'Fallout NV has stopped working' error, and have to close the game from the error. I've tried unchecking ALL my mods, including DLC, from the start menu, but no dice. I've also tried checking on both vanilla and NVSE versions. I'm using Fallout NVSE and 4GB, I have it on steam, and I'm on Windows 8. Here's my mod list. Thanks very much for any help! One I can't seem to find is Morten's hair pack 2, containing these hairs - specifically, the fourth from the left on the bottom row is what I want.   23. Hello! I actually asked for help earlier with a separate issue, so I apologize for having to ask again on something else. However, it is a separate and I think more complex issue. I have my custom house all set up with the furniture/props for the theme in mind linked to an X marker I made. (Duplicated another and made a new form.) However, I have no idea where to go from here. I've searched the forums quite a bit and fiddled ingame, finding things like the locker in Craterside which is supposed to contain themes (but is empty, for me) and such, but I'm not sure how to make my theme usable. What I'm hoping to do is have the theme be offered in Moira's shop inventory like the other themes, or like objects like the workbench and juke box. (I've looked at how the themes are offered and noticed you have to select the specific dialogue option for it to show up, and only one seems to show at a time, so I realize making a new dialogue to offer it might not be feasible for a newbie like me. In that case, I'd probably go for trying to buy it like the workbench and such instead.) Can anyone tell me, step by step, how this is done? Even just a few hints would be helpful. Thanks!
