Here is my CTD guide as reference as well: Go through ALL the sections in this guide thoroughly. It is a great guide with info. pulled from multiple sources/mod authors. These are things I would put A LOT of time into: Load order You need to build a custom load order and make sure it stays in that order. Whenever you install/update a mod it switches up your load order which is REALLY BAD. Switched up loan orders lead to save game corruptions and more CTD's. Use NMM's plugins section to make sure they always stay in the same order and try to group mods together that do similar things. You can do more research on load order to know how to edit it. This will prevent save files from getting corrupted and reduce CTD's in gameplay. Here is a good example of a healthy way to categorize your load order: What I personally do, along with some others, and have been successful with so far (*fingers crossed*) is use a kindergarten approach to load order and try and "group" my mods. Meaning that similar mods are all going together. Essentially you could break my load order down into sections and sub-sections. Not one that is installed. Sometimes when you have a save that includes some important whatever from a mod and that mod is later removed, the game is still looking for that important whatever in that location... and when it can't find it - crash.To test this try starting a new game - if you have a clean save on stand-by (which you SHOULD. Seirously.) Then trying running this save. It shouldn't reference the missing object. Travel to where you were getting the crashes to see if they persist.If it doesn't crash, then you get to figure out what it was you removed from the game." Texture packs This is HUGE. Skyrim is a 32bit program which means it can only hold 3.5-4.0GB of RAM NO MATTER WHAT. Even if your computer has 100GB of RAM Skyrim can only use 3.5-4.0GB of it. If you exceed this, Skyrim will have infinite loading screens, random CTD's, random freezing, etc... Do you have a lot of high quality textures? Armor packs, UNP/body mods, ground textures, added buildings, added NPC's, water textures, etc... You may be overloading your memory/game. Try uninstalling some and see if this improves (alternative below). Try cutting back on building textures, water textures and rock textures. Also, if you have the free DLC for textures, disable it. It causes more problems than it is worth because of this issue in my opinion. Reducing the size of textures is CRUCIAL. Mods like Water give an optional file for reduced texture size. These texture are still better than Vanilla Skyrim so I would recommend using those options ANY TIME you see them. Bringing the textures down will reduce CTDs and even boost overall performance with hardly any noticable visuals lost in my opinion. Especially with so many ENB's/lighting mods to make up for the texture being a little smaller. Script heavy mods/high spawn point mods Self explanatory. If you have any of these try disabling them and see if your game improves again. Mods like Warzones, ASIS and SkyTEST fall into this category. (while mods like this can be totally fine, such as skyTEST, your system may not be able to handle them.) Save game file Your characters save could already be corrupted if you have not paid too close attention to load order/removed mods in the past. If customizing your load order doesn't fix it you may have to start a new game and keep your load order in check going forward. Also, your removed mods have a HUGE effect on your save game file. Try mods on a different save before you decide to keep/remove them so you don't have to add/remove them from your main save file. "My point is that there is a good chance all that there is a whole bunch of junk still lurking about in your save. Particularly if you've ever run a mod with any new or edited scripts. You can deactive the mod, you can delete the scripts, but if not properly executed, the scripts will keep on keeping on. Waiting to attack, when you least expect it. (There is a way to investigate this also, and I will again direct you to my friend "Google" as the process involves making changes to your .ini file - ALWAYS HAVE A BACKUP). Essentially, YOU might forget about the mod the second it's deleted, but your SAVE remembers." .ini edits/game integrity Make sure your .ini edits are all popular ones and not ones known to cause any issues. Ugridstoload is a common one to cause some problems. I have found a GREAT mod to replace ugridstoload. Go ahead and set your ugrids to load back to 5 and exterior cell buffer back to 36 (make sure you do this as instructed in the "advanced tweaking" section of the guide posted directly below). This mod will do most of what ugrids does without the extra CTD's. May cause some FPS drop but lowering your ugrids back to 5 will raise your FPS. I use the pictures/charts provided to get the lowest possible setting with the best quality still in mind. Make sure you read all the pages and not just the first one. There are multiple sections. The only thing I don't agree with in his posts (that I have noticed) is using BOSS. It has never been nearly as good as just making your own load order like described above IN MY OPINION. AOP's Dangerous File List These files WILL crash/currupt your game/save game. DO NOT USE at any cost. Get rid of any you have installed immediately and start a new game if CTD's occur consistently after uninstallation.   5. AOP's Dangerous File List: If there are newer versions than what is listed here I would suggest double checking the authors changelog to confirm they have addressed the bugs. Even then I would proceed at your own risk. This is a comprehensive list of files that are considered "gamebreaking" or dangerous to your save game file. 7K Better Whiterun - City Under Construction - BETA - versions 1.2b or earlier CLARALUX - More and Brighter Lights - versions V3A, V4A - Special note: V2A reported as safe by majority of community. Please do not PM/reply to this list with suggestions unless you have inspected the .esp/.esm yourself and have seen the conflicts. Even then I will consult with a few of my friends (mod authors) to confirm the conflicts if possible. Thank you.

  7. I've noticed that many people have issues with a mod that have been resolved but they get buried in pages and pages of comments. It would be a good idea to have a "show all comments" button that can either expand the current page and show all the comments or redirect to a new page (YouTube style) that has all the comments. This would encourage searching (Ctrl F) for an issue instead of asking the same questions over and over. This would be a great help to mod authors. Now, a downside to this would be slight straining of the servers pulling all the comments, however there would be less server load of people that don't need to write new comments because they have searched... so I think it wouldn't be too bad.
  8. I would not recommend it... the .esp for that mod is a complete mess and changes many things around skyrim that it shouldn't. I uninstalled that mod.

  11. Ok so I installed Dragon Bridge separately and it still didn't load. But everywhere else does.   12. I do have papyrus enabled. After every freeze on loading screen I check it. The script is always different before the end of the log so I didn't save any. I figured if it was a script it would be the same one each time causing the crash. I will post any future papyrus logs here for you. -I disabled the extra faster arrows mods, no effect. -I've had Wof3rdE for a long time with no problems. And I double checked to make sure I had the correct version. -I will reorder the COT mods, thanks. -As far as I know all the arrow mods change different things, and I have the compatibility versions for each. One of the problems is that the game never crashes, it just loads for hours if I leave it there. Otherwise I have to ctrl-alt-del and end the task and try again. It plays perfectly fine until I try to fast travel to Dragon Bridge North/South and then I get the infinite loading screen. I am trying to install the mod in the modular form and so far I can fast travel to Ivarstead, Darkwater, and Rorikstead just fine. I am going to try this with Dragon Bridge and see if it works with the individual file. We will see how that works out and I will report back.

  15. Scripts can cause outdoor crashes often. One think you could try, is to download warzones as a .zip file and extract it to a folder on your desktop. Then look in the folder and try to find any scripts and see what they are called. Then go to your skyrim scripts folder and see if you can find any and delete them. You can also log your game while you play to a Papyrus.0 log and it will tell you the very last script that ran before the game crashed. Just add these lines to your Skyrim.ini to have it start logging your play sessions. Then read the log and look at the last script that tried to run. Add this under the [Papyrus] section only. fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0 bEnableLogging=1 bEnableTrace=1 bLoadDebugInformation=1 It will then save a folder to your documents/my games/skyrim called Logs/Script. Papyrus.0 is always the latest one.
  16. Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't understand that part. Have you looked through your scripts folder in the skyrim directory to try and find any warzones scripts and just delete them manually? Maybe the mod manager (if you are using it) couldn't properly remove them? I have seen other people with this problem and they just found the scripts and manually deleted them. That may help you.
  17. Warzones makes my game crash too. And I have a pretty decent setup. I love that mod but I love my game to be stable more so I just don't use it. I have just under what you have as far as system specs and I can't run that mod without crashes.\ And those scripts look like Warzones scripts. I don't know about every one of them but I know a couple are. Maybe the others are too. Does your game run ok when you start a new game without warzones installed but all of your other mods in place?
  18. Nice! I've been playing Skyrim for about 2 hours now doing all Whiterun area quests and have not gotten a single CTD. That guide helped a lot and I will try to spread the word about it.   19. Once you fix what is going on now maybe then start thinking about ugrids. But some things to consider: it causes more crashes, you can't just adjust it back after you have changed it unless you follow specific instructions, and you need a pretty decent rig to handle it. I was just mentioning that because I adjusted my ugrids to 7 and started getting crashes every 2-5 minutes in random areas around whiterun and a mod pointed out to me that I did it completely wrong and it was causing my game to crash. So I was thinking you might have the same problem. The other 2 links I posted can help A LOT with trying to find/fix crashes though. So read through those and get your Skyrim stable. Then it's up to you if you want to risk making it unstable again lol.

  21. Have you adjusted your ugrids in the .ini? Doing so with the incorrect multiples can cause serious memory and crashing issues when loading into ram. The formula you should follow if you have adjusted the ugrids is the ugrid to load value +1, then multiply by your result. For example: if your ugrids is set to 7 it would be 7+1=8, 8*8=64. So you should set your exterior cell buffer to 64 if ugrids is 7. Sorry if that doesn't make any sense. I had some issues with crashing and the ini files can really cause some trouble.   22. Thank you for that guide. I just read through all of the pages linked and the only things that may apply are the exterior CTD guides related to previous mods being uninstalled and the .ini tweaks being done incorrectly. I have already done the windows and software optimization for previous games but I read through them to see if there was anything that I didn't already do. The .ini tweaks might help as there were a few values that were not multiplied correctly and I have adjusted them. I haven't played yet though so I don't know if it has helped. And from my script I posted above, it looks like the game may be trying to find something that isn't there anymore. But my crashes still happen even when I start a new character so who knows. I will keep going through the guide in more detail and try to pinpoint what is going on. You should sticky that guide to the top of this forum section, I think it would help A LOT of people.
