Funny you should post this thred, because I'm about to do just this. I've just loaded Knights of the Nine, but I already finished the main quest and Shivering Isles, plus most of the guilds. My character is up to level 35, so all the loot is good now, BUT I'VE LEARNED A FEW THINGS! First, I get into Shivering Isles early, level 1 to 3, and collect a bunch of maddness ore and amber. Who knows, maybe even finish SI early, since the rewards you automatically get throught the quest don't level up. THEN, pop back into SI once I'm already level 30 and get madness and amber weapons and armor made. Much better quality and power. :ninja: Wait until level 20 to finish up the main quest, so the sigil stones are better. I will definately not wait until level 30 to finish fingers of the mountain again. What good is a spell that can electrocute IC in one fell swoop if it takes 2400 mana to cast. I think I'll finish DB and the Fighter's Guild early, too, so I can get some cool companions. Never had those before.

I looked up your mod, looked interesting. Do I need to load COBL or not? Is the Avalon Aeylid ruin part of the mod, too?
-
I just loaded the frostcrag spire add-in. gotta say, the elemental companion is almost more trouble than it's worth. The thing keeps getting lost. Overall a decent place to hang out, but none of the supposed portals to the Mages Guild halls in each of the cities seems to work. any comments?

I miss levitation, but I guess it was a gamebreaker... I am really upset about unarmored, though. I really wanted to do a monk type of character in Oblivion. No armor, no weapons, just hand to hand and touch based destruction spells.

Sounds like a good opportunity for a mod! Maybe there already is one!

Oh ya, forgot that one! :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: WHAT ??? :woot: Are you talking about the cage dancers in the basic MW game, or is there something in an expansion I missed? In Suran just as you get off the Silt Strider, there is a building. The bottom door goes to "House of Earthly Delight." Look it up and you will see!!! hmmm... :teehee:

Yet another lost opportunity for a cool faction... I was very disappointed when, as a dunmer, I could not get recruited into the dunmer army during Mehrune's Razor.

You would think that Bethesda would have scripted each of the Imperial cities in the same manner as the MW factions. Surely they have a beef with each other, or with big bro IC. You can brainstorm hundreds of quests that are city against city. I miss being able to enchant arrows. What else are petty and common sould gems for??? Also, why can't bethesda issue a MW patch to make it compatible with Oblivion, so you can just walk across the border if you have bothgames loaded? I agree with all comments in prior posts, but most of all, the barter system! ...and levitation! ...and acrobatics and jump meaning something!

she doesn't supply a second cure. and you can only get vampirism a second time by using mods or the console but a second cure is found in the Spa of the Vile Lair (official DLC) So, you're saying that after that quest, you can't catch Vampiric cooties again?

:verymad: I thought hackdirt could have had more to offer. You never even find out who the real "deep ones" are. All you find are a bunch of half naked crazy people in the cavern below town and it becomes a simple hack-n-slash your way to freedom. There's nothing truly sinister lurking there at all... I also agree that most of the guild quests were too easy, and the magic green arrow made them just too simple. What difficulty levels did everyone have the game set on, though. Maybe I'll play it again on the hardest level

My big question is how do you go about getting a second cure? She says to come back if you need another potion, but then you find out you have to find all the ingredients again. Only this time, nobody gives any suggestions as to where you find the necessary uber vampire dust. Has anyone ever actaully gotten a second cure from her?

How long have you played your character?
tgpardu replied to Pineapplerum's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
I've only played through two characters, the first light armor and more spells, less sword. The second, heavy armor, more sword, less spells. But even as far back as morrowwind, I cant convince myself not to play a brittonian. I always compensate for the combat flaws by choosing combat skills, attributes, and birthsigns. Then I have a scrappy light fighter who can whip some ass with a little can of majik-whooparse. I'm also a shameless Star Wars fan, so I'm always emulating the jedi thing: really skilled with a sword, plus alteration, illusion, and healing magic. right now I'm stuck at level 37 though, and I can't get another level up. I've systematically gained a skill level in each major skill, and still nothing  -
Glith in Thives Guild- " Independant Thievery"

What platform are you using? I'm a PC player, and have had no problem with the theft total adding up and sticking. Maybe you're moving too much for the mesenger to find you? -
Yes, I realize this. The good news is the type of application has been done before in everything from on-line spades rooms to WoW. Huge...yes, daunting...yes, but a boy can dream

First, yes I know that Oblivion is not, was not designed to be, and will never be a MMPO... Now that we have that out of the way, I think Bethesda should step up and design an Online Arena. The concept is simple enough. You log into the site, You have already loaded an "official mod" designed to export your character to the site. Then you paruse the bulletin board for upcoming matches, challenges, tournaments, melees, etc... You enter a "slot" in an upcoming fight, and away you go! It could be governed by some type of "weight class", based on character level or something else. Vanilla equipment, spells, etc; anything you can find, create, or enchant in the vanilla game is allowed. If you win, you get some kind of prize (dunno here, need ideas). If you lose (die a horrible grizzley death) your character doesn't have to forfeit any equipment. And of course there would be the posted Arena rankings that you would slide up/down. If you don't feel like jumping in the fight pit, you can always log in and just sit in the balcony. Watch the fights, make a wager, have some fun, etc. Best part of the fight would be this: REAL TIME. No pausing to change equipment or spells, or equipping poisons. Everything you wanted to do would have to be hot keyed. If you open your inventory gui, your character would basically be helpless until you closed it again. Surely, someone from Bethesda is on this forum, the invaluable resourse that it is. What say you?

Does anyone know when, exactly the Sigil stones decide which enchantment they will impart? Is it when you take them from the tower, or when you enchant an item? Basically, If you are looking for a particular enchantment, which would you save prior to? Thanks!
-
Thanks for the replies. So, I guess if I finished the Oblivion Gates at a lower level, I kinda screwed myself. Maybe should play it through again... :yucky: Any info on the hearts of order?
-
What, exactly, do you do with these things once you have a pile of them? Also, Is there a good use for Hearts of Order once you've completed Shivering Isles? Thanks!

:wallbash: There's a small island ESE from the IC. I've tried every trick I can think of to get over the rock rim and onto the island. There is one point where I can get almost over the edge, but not quite, but I can stand there and hear voices up on the island. HOW DO I GET UP THERE?!?!?! Please...
