I'm a bit surprised that no-one has answered this for you yet. To load your save files, follow the path: Steam\userdata\<steam user ID>\637090\remote\C0\SGS1 Open the SGS1 folder and select the save you want to edit. (The SGS1 folder contains all your saves. Kinda confusing because they don't have the same names as they do in-game, just a bunch of numbers. So, the easiest way to figure which save is which, is by looking at the "date modified" column.) To load all current game assets, (weapons, ammo, upgrades, mechs, etc) Follow the path to where your BATTLETECH is installed. Steam\steamapps\common\BATTLETECH BATTLETECH is the folder to scan.
