  1. So, I just did this tutorial... http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Basic_NPC_Patrols_Tutorial It works fine. But now, I'm trying to expand, and it's not working. I want to put horsemen on the roads (for a few reasons, few of them very pleasant  ) but now the patroling is just too confusing. The tutorial doesn't cover horses, so there was a lot of guesswork, and some of the stuff that worked indoors doesn't seem to outside (like me placing him at one point in CS, and him turning up in another without his horse and never moving). Any help? :( Pretty please? Thanks a million!
  2. Great plan, but when I went to test it and made the new sound file, it wouldn't let me!   It's weird! It went fine until it told me to select the sound I wanted. I clicked, double-clicked, triple-clicked, no matter how i try, selecting my sound is useless. It just doesn't respond. :( And I tested other sounds. It's not just my song. any sound effect I try to put in doesn't work. It's hard to explain, but the point is that option isn't working.
  3. The thing is, in one of the original folders, the music plays at random from a list of songs. I want specific music in a specific place, and I don't want to have to delete every other song to do it. :( And also, when I go to change the music for the interior, I only get the options "Public", "Dungeon", and "Default". I don't even know what the last one is! :wallbash:
  4. Where there are sub-folders in the "Music" folder ("Public", "Dungeon", etc.), I put a folder with my music. When I open the CS and open the interiors to edit them, my folder doesn't show up in the options for music. :(
  5. OK, I'll just get to the point: How do you assign custom music to cells? I'm trying to get some chorus music I have to the chapel interiors, but what I try doesn't work. :wallbash: Any help? Thanks, all!
  6. I posted something similar long ago, but I just had to ask again. Is there any way to take models, skeletons, body parts, i don't know/care what the proper name for them is, but can you take "the look" of creatures from the game and use them to make custom races? Like, I just found "Cursed Armor" by Launius (BRILLIANT, by the way) which turns you into a skeleton. I'm just dying to try it out! :wallbash: Is there any way you can take humanoid creatures from the game (Xivilai, skeletons, etc.) and use them in custom races? Thanks all! P.S. I'm not saying "make the races playable". I mean really taking them peice by peice and using the peices as you see fit. Kinda like how you can put long wood-elf ears on an Imperial. Thanks!
  7. I was on the Construction Set Wiki, and started looking at the following tutorial: :whistling: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Audacity:Voice_Acting_Workshop_I The problem: It says the damn workshop comes in three parts, and I can't even get part 2! :wallbash: I just don't get it. I click on part 2, when the page comes up, all I get is a title. No article. :verymad: And I can't even find part 3. If someone could direct me to the remaining parts, I'd be very grateful. Or, if not, then another tutorial that guides one in importing their own voice effectively into Oblivion characters. I'm trying to learn how to write quests, and I'd like to make my quests as immersive as possible. Thanks as always!   P.S. I know this is a ridiculously obvious question, but what kind of equipment will I need for the job? I know a mic and such, but any specific type? Any kind of software needed? Is there anything I should know right now about having the right equipment? Thanks all!
  8. So I'm using the Extravagant Mask Pack by Demonizzer (AWESOME  clothing mod for those who are unfamiliar). The masks are fabulous and I really want them on my companions too (I use Companion Share & Recruit). The problem: To leave room for amulets and such, the masks occupy the Tail Slot instead of the hair slot of most helmets or the amulet slot ect. o_O I don't want to change that, but my companions (or anybody for that matter) don't equip tail slot items. Whether they have a tail or not! :wallbash: Is there any way that I can get the world's NPCs to automatically equip their tail slots along with the other slots? Thanks in advance as always! :D P.S. On a side note, these masks are clothes, but would look fabulous in battle. Even though I can still wear them in combat if I wanted, can anyone tell me how to convert "clothing" items into "armor"? Thanks!
  9. Got it! Thanks, guys. I owe you.
  10. Good point. I'll definitely give that a try, thanks.
  11. Damn! It's not working. I looked and can't find any spot to put "max" HP. Just a box that saysHealth. I set his health to 3000, and he still turns up unconscious! Got any more thorough help? I mean, which box and where is it? The spider is a "Creature" type, and there is no PC level offset. I just don't see any area in which to put his "max HP". Sorry.
  12. OK, so I'm very confused. I've seen vampire characters in the game of all races with all the appropriate voices, but when I tried turning Lucien Lachance from Imperial to VampireRace in the CS, I got the "I HAVE NO GREETING" thing. I don't get it! :wallbash: I checked out Lord Lovidicus, and I don't see any evidence of vampirism. His race is Imperial, and he has no script, yet in game he is clearly a vampire. Vicente Valtieri is as much of a vampire as you can get, fangs and all! Yet he speaks with a breton voice and functions fine. Any help? I would love to make some original vampire characters and turn a few existing ones into vamps, but I can't figure out how to without totally ruining them. Thanks in advance, as always!
  13. I'm an idiot! :wallbash: I totally overlooked that. Thanks a ton. I'll look into that right now.
  14. OK, I tried following this tutorial here:  http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Scripting_Tutorial:_Summoned_Creatures The creature I was trying to summon was a spider made with this: :whistling: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18709 I should probably note that I tried making this into a Power for my custom race (like the Ancestor Guardian for Dunmer), not a standard spell. Anyway, I can't find anything I did wrong with the script, but when I summon the spider, it always goes unconscious (yeah, I made it essential) as soon as it's called, and it's always invisible! :wallbash: HELP ME PLEASE. I just don't get it. I made a spider with these textures before, and it went fine (i'm having slight issues with their combat, but that's not important). Now this one JUST-WON'T-WORK. Any insight? Thank you!
  15. Once again, I owe you one.   I'll definitely look into it. Thanks a ton.
  16. These are no files you could find in your BSA. The fangs for vampires are a shape modifier from the TRI file for the human teeth NIF. There's a shape key like "vampire" especially for this purpose which makes the canines extend significantly. There are, however, some really nice vampire teeth for use in a race, outside of the hardcoded vampirism mechanics of Oblivion, you can find here on the Nexus. I think searching for "vampire" and/or "teeth"/"fangs" should yield proper results already. No luck in that search for me, but thanks anyway :( If you find any, will you let me know?
  17. Wow, I'm on here a lot lately. o_O So, I expect BSA commander will come in handy here, but I'm making a custom race. They're going to be in more of a human/elf sort of form, by which I of course mean that they won't have the beast-like features of Orcs, Khajiit or Argonians. One feature I would really love this race to have is fangs, although they aren't vampires. I extracted (what I thought to be) the right files for building bodies, but couldn't find the right set of teeth. any advice or insight? Even when all files are extracted, the lables of the different kinds are not exactly the most helpful or specific. Just what to extract or where to look for the fangs would be great, but any help at all is welcome. Many thanks in advance! NOTE: I do mean fangs; two long canines found on vampires like Vicente Valtieri, not the rows of sharp teeth like Argonians/Khajiit or the tusks of Orcs. Thanks again. :P
  18. As everyone knows, vampirism in Oblivion blows. But really the only problem I can't get over is that no matter how often you feed or how young/attractive your character is, vampirism makes you old and ugly. :wallbash: WHY?! :wallbash: Anyway, I've been looking into a way to alter this, hoping to achieve the opposite effect; for being a vampire to make you young and beautiful. Becoming a vampire would send your youth bar down, and send your complexion up. The problem: I can't find anything in the VampireScript that event remotely suggests anything to do with appearance. Any help at all? Many thanks in advance! :teehee:
  19. True, but what about horses, houses, general armament, etc? I just feel that risking one's neck for 50 gold....while the cheapest house available costs 2000....is a bit of an underpayment, don't you think? Anyway, I just wanted the quest to include pay and fame worthy of a competitor in the famous "Imperial City Arena".
  20. So long story short, the paychecks you get in the Arena are crap. I want to make a mod where I can alter how much gold you get for each fight, but I can't find where to begin in the Construction Set. :verymad: I don't know the right script, if I should alter the quest itself, I just don't know anything about where to modify my Arena pay. S.O.S.! :wallbash: Any insight at all would be greatly appreciated. My characters should not be risking their necks day in and day out for a pathetic 200 gold, or less, per fight!
  21. It;s likely that you either made the mod without the required masters, or the plugin is corrupt. What do you mean "without the required masters"? All I know is that I loaded certain mods (none of them set as "active") and saved them all in a new plugin. When I tried to activate it, no luck. And how can I fix the corruption, if that's the problem?
  22. to merge plugins, it's better to use TES4gecko with it you can also correct the master list. I just don't understand TES4gecko  I've downloaded it because i heard so many good things about it, but now I find that i just don't get it. I don't even know how to properly install it, much less how to actually use it once it's installed. I'd love to use it once i know how, though
  23. OK, so in th CS (which I always runs as administrator now), I was trying to combine a couple mods I had downloaded. A couple weapons mods, to be more specific. I just wanted the weapons in greater quantity (for a companion thing) and wanted them all in one place so i didn't have to go all over looking for them. The modding went fine, i multiplied them, put them in a box in the testing hall, I saved it just fine, blah blah blah. Then when I start up Oblivion and go to activate the mods (you know, when you put the little check in the box?), I get this message "This is not a valid Oblivion plugin or master file". BULL! :wallbash: :wallbash: Why can't I activate the freaking mod?! :wallbash: I worked it through the CS just fine, but now can't activate it?! :wallbash: IT MAKES NO SENSE! :wallbash: As always, any and all help ios welcome and much appreciated!
  24. I just tried the running as administrator method. It's working. :-) Thanks, all!
