  1. Got an answer somewhere else.
  2. I'm currently playing through as a ranger and had originally planned to join the Dark Brotherhood but after a bit of reading (most of which I came across by accident) I was curious about a few things. I noticed that eventually you get a quest which involves you trying to assassinate the emperor. My problem with this is that I was planning on siding with the Empire as opposed to the Stormcloaks, is there any way around this or am I just going to have to side with the Stormcloaks to do the Dark Brotherhood quests? Also, are there any consequences to doing the Dark Brotherhood quests? I'd imagine that a failed assassination attempt would cause some issues, and a friend of mine advised putting off their quests until later on. I'm trying not to spoil anything else for myself (I've already ruined quite a bit as you can see), so if you could be fairly vague with your answers I would appreciate it.
  3. Personally if I turn everything up via the volume control settings then everything else is too loud, it just isn't a viable option. The solution is for Bethesda to patch the game to fix this issue along with countless other ones (shadow quality being tied to distance being a big one).
  4. Seems like the solution for now is to disable Oblivion's AA/AF and enable it via CCC/RadeonPro. http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1262234-an-important-performance-tip-for-pc-users/ edit: Actually, doesn't seem to have fixed it though it did increase my fps a bit.
  5. You need to find a guard and pay off your bounty.
  6. You should only need an internet connection for the initial activation/setting up offline mode, after that's done you should be able to run it without an internet connection.
  7. I'm having the same issue, also using an AMD card. Seems to only be occur inside of caves/ruins, mostly likely due to some sort of lighting issue. http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/613842195071837721/2C00DF540005C3E1B5C6EFEBF6DB2FD019076FA2/ Phenom II X4 965 HD 5850 1GB 6GB DDR3 Win 7 64-bit
  8. So despite having the issue for several months, you never had the idea of contacting Steam support? Obviously there's something wrong on your end, it's not a widespread issue. I've had a few various issues in the past and generally doing the following (which is actually copied from an old support ticket) fixes most issues. Exit Steam and go to the folder called C:\Program Files\Steam\ (this is the default location for a Steam installation - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it). Delete all of the contents of this folder except: The Steamapps folder and Steam.exe (If 'exe' is not visible, look for the black and white Steam icon) Restart your computer. Then, you will need to launch Steam.exe from within the Steam installation folder, and not from a pre-existing shortcut. Have you never used any other form of DRM? Steam is easily the least intrusive of any DRM, all it requires is a single online activation. The offline mode has been worked on over the years and it's extremely reliable at this point (personally I've never had a single issue with it), there's nothing preventing you from playing your games. Not to mention all of the special features/services it provides, from reliable cloud saves/settings (unlike GFWL which is known to commonly delete saves), community features, screenshot manager, constant sales, and more. GFWL and Ubisoft's terrible PC DRM are FAR worse as far as being unreliable/buggy/requiring internet connection.
  9. Fixed it, turns out it was happening because I had MMM's More Wilderness - No Gates enabled with the Rolling Hills and The Heath patch, decided to just change it to normal More Wilderness and Oblivion seems to launch now.
  10. Was in the process of trying to install mods for Oblivion once again and everything seemed to be fine until installing OOO/MMM, now I can't seem to get the game to launch at all. The launcher seems normal, but when I click Play the game launches and immediately crashes (though sometimes it plays .5 sec of the Bethesda intro video). Current load order: OOO (and MMM) are the 2 most recent mods I installed, everything else was installed before those and my Oblivion launched without any issues. I've tried deactivating/reactivating them in OBMM and still haven't been able to get the game to launch properly. Any help would be appreciated, I've been wanting to play through Oblivion again before Skyrim.
  11. I just finished Dead Money last night and enjoyed it, though I'll admit it dragged on a bit too long in outside portion.
  12. Did a fresh reinstall of EVERYTHING and it seems to be fixed, thanks.
  13. Also, does anyone have any clue of what could be causing this? http://imgur.com/GfUuq.png It's been like this since I first installed all of my mods, I have no clue of what could be causing it.
  14. I've played New Vegas for 35+ hours and up until this point I've been fine, though a few minutes ago I ran into an issue and I'm not exactly sure of what's causing it. I'm currently playing through Dead Money and had been wearing a Sierra Madre helmet for quite a while and was perfectly fine. The problem seemed to start after I found a Sierra Marde Helmet, Reinforced and equipped it. After equipping the reinforced helmet some sort of blue VDSG message popped up which I immediately exited out of (by mistake). I'm fairly sure it mentioned some kind of scanner, unfortunately I was unable to read any more of it. At first I was fine until I tried using my ironsights which caused the game to crash. I tried restarting my game several times and every single time it crashed when trying to use ironsights. The only mod I have that really effects the core gameplay (as far as I can tell) is Project Nevada, I figured it could be related so I updated to the newest version but I'm still having the same issue. I've tried disabling various settings (Enhanced Zoom, Visor Overlays, etc.) but none of them seem to make any difference. Earlier today I found an AR Scanner implant from Project Nevada but never installed it so it doesn't seem as if it's the issue either. Here is my load order: http://i.imgur.com/QVbkO.png edit: Just tried reinstalling Project Nevada again and when doing the BOSS Auto-Sort it moved the Rebalance esp from the bottom to just under Cyberware. For now I'm going to try to finish Dead Money as I'm fine as long as I'm not wearing the helmet, though any idea/solutions would be appreciated. edit: Seems as if trying to sprint is also crashing my game (it was fine before), I guess my Project Nevada installation is more broken than I thought. What's strange is that I just uninstalled it/installed a new version so I'm not really sure of what to do at this point (also tried reinstalling this version, didn't fix either issue). I'm guessing that I'd be best off doing a fresh install of New Vegas/all of my mods.
  15. Followed the instructions at https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7418-YUBN-8129 and that seems to have fixed it, thanks :)
