  1. I would consider most of the mods on the Nexus as good. There are some that are absolute trash. There are a few such as "The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal" that are truly exceptional. If mods over at the Sweatshop hide behind a pay wall, how do we determine the quality before we buy? In the case of the "Gray Cowl" and a few other mods on Nexus I donated to the authors as a show of my appreciation. I will probably never use anything off of the Steam Store except the base games and official DLCs. I hope that the Nexus will continue with the voluntary system of donations and users will show their support of the mod authors with donations!
  2. The only selling point for NMM is the flagging of mods that have a Nexus update which I would like to see BASH do. The major downside to NMM is the lack of control over mod file priority. This is important for graphic or script mods as earlier files are overwritten by later installs with NMM. BASH shows what files a mod is going to override and what files have been overridden (AKA conflicts). BASH not only allows you to order the ESM/ESP files, but also the installation order. Now I have complete control over files and EM/ESP files that NMM only partially allows. If you take the time to learn BASH, you will have a much more stable game. I currently have 244 ESM/ESP mods activated with 251 total mods installed.
  3. I can see that I am not the only one having trouble with NMM 0.44.1. This release has turned a very stable mod setup into a disaster. Yes, you will claim that this is a "beta" which is really legalize for CYA in case you screw up. Now I will have to back out all of the mods, delete/reinstall the skyrim game and then reinstall the mods in the correct order.
  4. In response to post #7510192. I followed your recommendation to uninstall NMM 0.44.0 before installing NMM 0.44.1 and what a fine mess you have created! First NMM couldn't find the mods which turned out that I had pointed NMM to the wrong directory. Then it showed all mods as uninstalled, so I changed the install info to the correct directory. Now it wants to uninstall all of my mods!
  5. Whatever is wrong with NMM 0.14.0, it has contaminated NMM 0.13.1 after restoring the installation directory. I can no longer logon to Nexus even though I have verified my logon through the web interface.
