  1. 1. Make a clean install, download universal necessities like SKSE and BodySlide 2. Navigate from the root folder to each of the folders you would delete for a clean install, making empty copies of each folder as you go in another location on your computer (e.g. Desktop\C:) 3. Copy the folders mentioned above from your bare bones installation to their duplicates in Desktop\SSEBackup\C: 4. Use your favorite file compression tool to add Desktop\SSEBackup\C: to an archive of your preferred format (or just keep them loose if you prefer) 5. Only repeat the above when absolutely necessary 5. To restore, follow the steps for a clean install until clicking the install button on Steam, and instead extract or copy your duplicate C:\ to your real C:\ Is there any reason this wouldn't work? Why? Is there any way I could make it work? Why I need to know: my wifi has to travel through three walls to reach my battlestation, so big games like Skyrim usually report an ETA on the order of 12 hours to a week to download unless I lug my laptop across the house (in which case it takes anywhere from 1-6 hours for the main game and 0.5-3 hours for AE), putting it out of commission until it's done. Since I often have to do a clean install 2-4 times a week, that adds up to multiple days per month I can't play any (good) games. Restoring the game to a clean state from my own memory would speed up this process by orders of magnitude.
