  1. Hey everyone, Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I'll be happy to move it if need be. I've modded Skyrim for years but haven't been playing since the end of 2017. I just started modding again and I've noticed they SO MANY mods are no longer on the Nexus. When I search for many of my beloved mods, they no longer yield results. If I missed a crucial event that took place, my apologies. But what's happened? Was a new rule on Nexus implemented that cause many mods to go away? Did several mod authors all decide to withdraw their work at the same time? Or...is it just me? Thanks, friends -Von
  2. Even uninstalling via Steam does not remove these mod folders. I know...weird The mods are FNIS, RealVison ENB, and a couple weapon tweaks Honestly, Ive watched several tutorials and none of the techniques brought me to a resolution. I shouldnt have to just restore my PC whenever i have folders I cant delete The question is, where does this come from. I have recently received several FNIS reports of users with access and permission problems. It's not clear what is causing the increase of such reports. But you should consider this: Which Mod Manager do you use? Both NMM and MO seem to be fragile about that. But especially the NMM developer has admitted unexplainable issues. Windows Version: Windows 10 seems to have caused additional problems with new UAC issues Installation Directory: NEVER EVER use "C:\Program Files(x86)" for modding purposes. Admin rights don't help you, when UAC (User account control) messes with your privilegdes.Consequence: Move Steam, Skyrim, FNIS, ... to C:\Games or wherever. Don't let it be installed under C:\Program Files(x86). I really appreciate your response! So I use NMM on Windows 10 64-bit I have managed to delete the files in Safe Mode, but its going to happen again so I need to figure something out. Though, I am grateful for being able to delete them in Safe Mode instead of restoring my PC. Also, yes, my Data files are in Program Files (x86). I'll change their location and see if it helps. I will have to do that the next time Im forced to vanilla restore Skyrim. which will be today. I cant currently move the folder as I dont have permission. haha

  4. Hey guys, So I am trying to delete mod files in the Skyrim data folder and, just like the title says, I am unable to do so because I need to have permission from Admin. There is only one user on my PC and thus it is an admin. I have googled and youtubed this everywhere and I havent yet found a solution. I've tried changing the permissions, multiple times. sometimes I cant even do that. But when I do, no difference. This happened before and I just said screw it and did a factory reset. So right now Im rebuilding Skyrim on my rig after resetting it and i get low FPS on first load. I try and delete the mod I expect to be a causing it aaaaaaannnd....cant delete it. Sorry for the long post Any assistance that anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated
  5. Hello, First off, sorry about this blue highlight. idk how to get rid of it. Also, this is my first post so Im sorry if i put this in the wrong section of the forums. If I did, please let me know the proper place. Ok, I cant seem to find anything about my current issue on the web. One of those unique problems i guess. Anyway, I've never had any problems with NMM before. i know how to use it properly and its always been great. recently, however, Im unable to auto install anything with it. when i try, it says "A problem occured during install: The execution has failed due to the bug in the SevenZipSharp...The Mod was not installed" Ive tried un/reinstalling NMM. still does the same thing. Its been like this for a few months. Ive resorted to manual instal. And yes, some would say its better and if im being honest im starting to think so too. BUT there are some mods that are trickier than others and require auto install unless you know what you are doing. like the one im trying to install now: Scoped Bows. Any help is greatly appreciated. like i said, ive never been on the threads before so i hope i can hear from someone. Thank you for your time -Von
  6. Hey all, I have an intermediate understanding of modding but that knowledge resulted from massively screwing all my data folders and ultimately destroying my Skyrim experience. Now, I've finally reverted my game to vanilla and I am starting to do everything correctly and decide which mods should always be installed from the get-go. Which brings me to my question for you! What are the most relevant mods that you believe should be installed on every PC? I am not asking what your favorite mods are. I do not want what you think is the best mod unless its relevant to this topic, But mods that are meant to enhance a utility or interface in a way that is necessary for PC Skyrim Thanks, all !!
