Thought I'd quickly ninja necro this thread to express my indignation. Brink was never a laughing stock, merely a departure from the reassuringly conventional. Despite its trivial flaws, it was, and to my mind, still is a welcome antidote to a genre saturated by CoD clones. I've yet to encounter an FPS, let a lone a TFPS that offers such a dizzying array of customisation options. The damage model may be an acquired taste for some but when one-shot kills are restricted to headshots from buffed snipers with bolt action rifles, the necessity for tactical forethought becomes so much more rewarding - the game forgives neither camper nor berserker. It also means that medics, engineers and spies all have a genuinely valuable contribution to make and more often than not, will swing the tide of battle. Like you, I love Brink. I don't expect others to mirror my sentiments but one thing the game isn't is a laughing stock.
