Greetings! I’m not much of a forum-goer here (or well, anywhere for that matter). However I thought I’d try and spread the word about this year’s March Mayhem on the Escapist. Bethesda has ascended to Round 4 (the “Great Eight”), defeating Ubisoft, Fireaxis and CCP Games in previous rounds. Unfortunately Bethesda is up against Bioware this round, and without reinforcements will probably be defeated there (which is annoying, since Bethesda gets defeated at Round 4 every year it seems  ). For those who are unfamiliar with the Escapist’s March Mayhem event, it’s an annual contest between developers on the website until only one developer is left standing (using a bracket system to pair off developers). Essentially it’s a popularity contest, and it’s gotten a lot of attention over the last few years. Bethesda has advertised the event on their blog while Valve and Zynga have advertised it through Steam and Facebook in the past. It must be admitted that the entire March Mayhem event is something the Escapist cooked up to get new users to their site, though most people just register and vote for their favorite developers and disappear again. Currently March Mayhem is in Round 4 of 5, and other developer match-ups include Valve vs Capcom, Mojang vs Obsidian, and Blizzard vs Square Enix, in addition to Bethesda vs Bioware. The Escapist is an extremely pro-Bioware website however, and while Bethesda fans have fought tooth and nail to secure a 39.3% of the vote (up from the original 33%), we’re still taking heavy losses. We need fresh blood (and lots of it!) to help secure a Bethesda win. Who knows, if we get enough votes we might even be able to get Bethesda to the finals! Sign up and vote for Bethesda today! March Mayhem at the Escapist I hope that didn't sound too much like an advertisement...
