    I ran into this issue at the end of the quest for the Black Book "The Sallow Regent" (the one you find in White Ridge Barrow). I suspected the forced auto saves to be the culprit and installed the mod "Apocrypha Autosave Disabler" by dragonloverlord. It is just 1 script you need to drop into your script folder. That resolved it for me.
