  1. Ever since I read a post on the Witcher's official forum about a god mode mod, I've been trying to find out how to get it. I've downloaded one and unzipped it, then put it into my Witcher 2 folder, but I don't know how to get it to work. I'm very unfamiliar with modding. I just assumed I'd have to drag the folder I unzipped into a specific folder inside the Witcher 2 folder. Where does it go? I've seen some posts mentioning "trainers", do I need something like that to get it to work?

The download I used was from this site:

    http://modsreloaded.com/god-mode

    Can anyone help me out?

    Hi,

Godmode mods usually dont need to be activated. It could however be -depending on what version of the game you are running- that the mod isn't compatible hence wont activate itself.

If you have the Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition installed then this godmode mod will work for sure.

Just extract the contents to your install folder, simply launch the game and your good to go!

You can straight away tell if its working by using the quen sign wich now should last for a good 452 minutes...

  2. Just a quick note in case anyone else is suffering from sudden (or unexplained) frame rate problems and is already on 295.73, supposedly the best driver. I'm sure it works for most people, but for me, rolling back to 295.51 Beta (available from NVIDIA's download site, look for Beta) gives me around 5 FPS more with ENB and 10 or so with ENB disabled.

(I only rolled back because 295.73 absolutely murdered performance on Rift, Skyrim is a nice perk.)

May not work for many of you, but worth trying, possibly.

I actually had a slight increase in performance after upgrading to 295.73 but now for some strange reason my GPU shuts down once or twice a day. Computer just keeps running tho...
  3. In oblivion, there were people you could pay to 'take care of' your bounty if you were in the theives guild. I haven't been able to find anyone who does that in Skyrim. Does anyone know if there is one or not?

No such option in Skyrim I believe...

I think I read the thieves guild in Skyrim also offers this...even for a cheaper price than the full bounty. But since I never had myself being catched, I don't know first hand.

You do indeed get -once a member of the TG- the dialogue option "I am with the guild will this cover the bounty" (or something in that direction), but in this particulair case even that had no effect what so ever.

  4. Just a question out of curiosity: Why exactly woud a assassin murder 12 dozen guards on his "way out"? I guess u didnt got a high sneak skill, eh? If you assassinate something and no one else watches, you dont get a bounty. Most of the times at least.

Because one isn't an assassin but simply doing the DB missions brute force style?! Sneakin' is for pussys were my pc is concerned!
  5. Had that exact same issue mate... I get told that Skjor was dead whilst he was standing about 4 feet away from me.

Probably a bug... Hmmm another one of already so many alas.

Well no need to be taken an arrow to the knee for it, or be lollygaggin 'bout it methinks. Just move on and go get that sweetroll back.

  6.

I'm afraid you might not want to hear it but the video card is probably where the problem lies

    Absolutely correct!

My mate runs Skyrim on an AMD Phenom II X4 945, with 8Gb ram and a Radeon HD 4650.

He has very long loading times aswell but interupts the loads by pressing ctrl alt del then activating taskmanager and that speeds things up quit a bit.

On my former rig were I used a gtx 560 card I had very short loading times were cpu and ram setup were identical to his rig.

  7. I think the point of the OP was that it looked like Morrowind would be a DLC because you can find the gate to Morrowind in Skyrim...

But this means nothing. You can also find gates to Hammerfell and Cyrodill in Skyrim. This is simply how they rendered it in this game instead of the "roads that end in hillsides" in TES IV:Oblivion or the infinite expanse of ocean in TES III: Morrowind.

No, my point was that it was an interesting option to consider, really nothing more than that.

I actually, before reading the article, hadn't considered a DLC that could involve breaching the gateway to Morrowind.

For me personally I was thinking of a dlc regarding the Dwemer or Thalmor to be honoust.

This article just cought my eye and seemed to suggest a valid option.

  8. Timing Skyrim’s DLC release date

January 2, 2012 By Daniel Chubb

We’ve already heard a lot about the Skyrim DLC users want with some clever ideas being shown, and while we’ll have to wait to see if Bethesda included some of the cool ideas suggested, one of the most important things needed is a well timed release date.

There has been no news on specific details for the first Skyrim downloadable content, although rumors point to the DLC going back to Morrowind, which can be seen via a video below this article. There is an invisible wall with a design around the border that fits well with the above possibility, and some player’s think it’s all ready for the new Skyrim expansion.

Not all Skyrim users love this idea, with some people wondering, “why go back to a place we’ve already traveled so much?” Some gamers that have read a few books on the “Great War” seem to agree that Skyrim DLC cannot go back to Morrowind, and their line of thought sits with the idea that most of Morrowind is no more. Personally we like the idea of Morrowind, and it would be great to return to the red mountain, how about you?

While the setting for DLC is extremely important, the issue of timing is almost as important. When you ask a number of Skyrim players about the DLC, most of them will give you a page of ideas and some players are already bored with Skyrim. These people want DLC right now, although they’d be disappointed considering the update will have a lot of “meat“, according to Bethesda, which means it will take some time to develop.

Skyrim has exceeded expectations, which was explained by Todd Howard last month, and he also said there is no timetable for Skyrim’s DLC. When the date comes, you can be sure the new content will include some ideas users have been sharing on blogs and via YouTube videos, which is thanks to Howard’s team keeping an eye on what the users want. You can count on the DLC not adding any multiplayer elements, which was hinted at by Howard explaining it’s not their focus with the DLC plans.

When is the perfect release date for the first Skyrim DLC?

It won’t be soon – is the official line from the Game Director, although you can expect game improvements and a lot from the DLC. There are many players like us, with heading towards 300 hours of gameplay, and DLC is wanted now even though we’re not bored yet. While we know the DLC is not coming this month, it needs to come sooner in 2012, rather than later. When would you like some downloadable content, and when do you think it will be? You can also read about the need for mods on console versions, which could be possible via Xbox 360 and PS3 DLC.

Above article I came accross on Gaming Inentertainment and was quit curious to the reactions on it from you guys...

  9. Now tell me truth who wants to go to Sovagrade a place were all you do is drink and train while waitng for the final battle?

    Sounds like my local pub.

Jim got it nailed to the bone here...

  10. Read the first line and thought, another rant, another person complaining, another reason to skip reading another OP's posting....

Lovely to yet again read what is oh so wrong bout Skyrim (in OP's opinion) instead reading about the quality of the game as a whole.

Had my own share of negative thoughts about the game but let it all go and just played on. In the end it was (and still is) a marvelous game period.

  11. Currently working on a Lawful Good Knight character and I'm looking for a great sword, but Daedric looks far to evil for this character to use. I'm 100 Smithing with every associated perk so it doesn't matter if I have to craft it or retrieve it from a quest, dungeon crawl and improve it later.

    Thanks

I would have a look at the JaySuS swords mod.

There are two knight swords in there, 1 one-handed and a two-handed one.

Or the one-handed father sword from the The Atlantean mod.

The Anduril Flame of the West sword is very nice aswell...

  12. Its especially grand that you get all these titles for no reason at all and no one seems to credit you for it.

I think theres actually one guy in the thieves guild wich calls you "boss" every now and then but thats it...

Ulfric giving you all these fancy nicknames and no one actually calls you those...

Become Thane it will grant you some extra perks...?????? "I will inform the guards you are my new Thane so they wont treat you like common rabble". And what happens? You get treated like common rabble.

Atleast the housecarls know their place and how to address you... "My sword and shield are yours my Thane" ...Sort off! Many off times I entered one of my houses being asked what the hell I was doing there by some backwards housecarl sitting at the kitchen table stuffing his gob with bread and cheese.

The reward system in this game is non-existing period. Its a hoax, a mirage, a.... The most stupidest thing about this game!

  13. After downloading those awesome swords of Conan, for some reason I looked them up on google and stubbled upon some pics from this years Conan film.

In one of the pics "Conan" was wearing a ring mail sleeve...

    http://www.craiglotter.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/jason-momoa-conan-the-barbarian-2011.jpg

...and I just had to ask if it is possible to create such an item of armor for Skyrim and if someone pretty please would be so kind to make it, preferably with a pauldron added.(I have no modding skills myself whatsoever)

If so I hope a nice fitting skirt/kilt and some boots can be made aswell. And maybe at some point some gauntlets and helmet.

(That sword looks quit interesting aswell :whistling: )

    Many thanks in advance!!!

    Edit!!!! For the helmet I was thinking along the lines of this;

    Or this;

  14.

When uniting couples for the Temple of Mara quests, one of them brings you to Markarth to help out Calcemo, who is in love with Faleen. If you deliver his poem to Faleen, she says she likes him too. And if you return to calcemo after helping the stormcloaks in the region, he runs like a champion all the way to solitude, without resting or sleeping or eating. Now that's dedication lol.

Now thats just to funny whahahahaha... Can see him running now the old geezer lol...

Anyways... The feeling I got seeing 'm all sitting down in that basement together was that they seemed to be figuring a way out to get back at Ulfric and the Stormcloaks.

Basement, secret meeting, contemplating a coup, that sort of stuff...

Good stuff for a bit of DLC methinks....

  15. So here I was just roaming Skyrim getting all miscellaneous quests out of the way and for the last one -getting some bounty for slaying a giant from some steward- I had to go to the blue palace.

Entered blue palace, walked straight up the stairs and no dialogue option to claim my reward. Being confused and all, I decided to turn the quest marker on and it pointed me to the basement were I walked in on all the Jarls that got dethroned after I finished the Civil war quest siding with the Stormcloaks.

I was really a bit in shock. Got all this abuse thrown at me about how I was the cause of all their problems and then one off 'm wanted me to get him a drink?????

So this got me wondering... Is this part of some quest? Or even part of the storyline somewhere somehow? Or are these former Jarls just gonna sit there till they die nagging and bitching at the world?

All in all it was quit funny seeing 'm all sitting there feeling sorry for themselfs. :whistling:

  16.

Actually it's just Bethesda somehow lacking a good storywriter

On that I think we can all definently agree.

But... You cant tell me for the love of it, that Beth's testing crew, tested the game and came to the conclusion that it was one epic game with one epic ending. No theres definently more to it.

Skyrim to me feels like reading a descent enough book but after chapter whatever theres only blanc pages left.

  17. I agree with both points up to the point were it is clear we are dealing with unfinished storylines...

Both endings in my opinion suggest either a sequel (or a ES6 for that matter) or massive dlc's with definite endings.

The whole Alduin quest-line ended way to abruptly and didn't have a "real" ending in my opinion. I really had the feeling when I finished my first playthrough that I still had a long way ahead of me.

Same goes for the civil war quest line. Shure the Empire/Stormcloaks get their arses kicked but still they hold a number of holds within Skyrim. So theres basicly a big opening for a new conflict no? Specially taken the Thalmor into consideration and the Psijic order telling Dovahkiin he was bound for something greater.

All in all, I feel like theres more to come, way more... (just hope I'm not mistaken:p)

  18. Hi everyone,

Have any of you had any problems with recharging your weapons? If so do you perhaps know of a fix for this.

The funny thing seems to be that I can recharge my Daedric bow, but the weapons I enchanted myself (the Atlantean sword of Conan and the boarding knife from the Jaysus set) will not show the option for recharge.

I have no shortage of soul gems and have the black star filled. Still nothing!

Typing the problem into google seems to suggest a glitch.

Hope anybody can help, thanks in advance.

  19. I've had a similair experience where I forced the dragon to land using the dragonrend shout.

The moment that he actually landed (on top of a house) I knocked him off the roof with the unrelenting force shout and before I could even get to him he high tailed it out of there.

  20. I don't know then, might need the CK to fix this

You have two options now, one is to turn off her AI completely, or just kill her and be done with it, even though you are losing a companion.

To turn off her AI, go into the console by pressing Tilde (`~) and click on her with the mouse. Then type the commands "tai" and "tcai" to turn off All AI and Combat AI respectively.

Another option would be to go out in the wilderness and find her base ID by putting into the console

    help "Uthgerd the Unbroken" 4

this will give you everything that matches that string, find the NPC record for her and type

player.placeatme (ID you find for her)

This will place a copy of Uthgerd right where you are standing, if she's hostile, then you likely did something to piss her off, if not, then it's an AI bug for the Uthgerd at the Inn.

Gave it another go and switched AI off like you suggested and that did the trick.

    Cheers for that.

after leaving the mine that used to escape from prison with killig the leader inside the man that supposed to welcome you attacked in both cases

I had exactly the same glitch and on several other sites it was reported as a bug. Well the whole escaping the mine quest was considered bugged for that matter.

Looking at both cases I think were dealing with corrupt AI or something similair to that.

Unfortunatly my technical know-how about these matters is zero to nothing, so I just hope the big boyz can sort stuff like this out ones the ck finally becomes availible.

  21. You might have hit another person, I know during some fistfights, if I didn't win fast enough, we'd move all around the room and run the chance of hitting a bystander, it's happened to me a few times, so you might have hit someone by accident, which would make her go hostile, even if you were in the middle of a fist fight.

That would be extremely lame. People do tend to move out the way when fightings going on.

But to be honoust I sort off had that idea myself, so on the third reload I made sure that I was stanced in a corner. Still she came at me with a weapon.
