  1. wait till ya guys get to the Kayran.....heh :whistling:

    *round 18 coming up

I actually found the Kayran quit easy.

I was a bit confused in the beginning of the fight, till the *censored* (shile) started screaming to use the Yrden sign.

From there on it was easy going...

I just kept rolling and was lucky I put the Yrdens in the right spots.

  2. Thanks, guys. I'll give the "S" key method a shot. I tried it before since I was always facing the dragon, and it never did any good, but I'll try again with the "S" pressed from the get-go.

As an aside, I know my thread sounds pathetic (ha-ha). It actually gets worse. I almost quit W1 during the encounter with the beast at the beginning. I swear I must have died two dozen times before I figured out the correct sign to use. After that fiasco, I ended up using the W1 trainer so I could "play better." Nothing beat taking a Swallow potion and charging into a group of attackers using Group Steel or Group Silver. That rocked.

Start holding the s key when geralt and king foltest get up at the end of the cutscene.... Constanly tap your right mouse button.

When your almost across the hexagonal shaped areas on the bridge, hit the "a" button once to move a bit to the left or you will run into the corner of a wall an get killed.

  3. Cannot do battle with the Kayran without using Sline to draw him/her out, I have the Kayran trap from Cedric and have built it, I have set it on the kayran battle ground but cannot draw it out. I know I can go to Sline and draw the kayran out but I do not want to share the goodies with her and would like to kill it without her involvment, anybody have ideas or a solution.

There is no other option then to go to the sorceress I believe.

I've never encountered any other option then that anyways and I'm in my 4th playthrough.

Using the trap btw is something I never did and never will do, just killed it using a silver sword and Yrden sign...

Still you need the sorceress to activate the fight.

  4. Hi, I am planning to buy this game and I thought it would be a good idea to list all the mods (balance mods, etcetera) that people advise to use on the first playthrough.

I heard Quen is very overpowered so I wouldn't want to miss a gameplay balance mod right from the start.

I don't make this topic out of laziness or because I want others to do the work.

I reckon many people are helped by being advised to install some mods right away, and I hope this topic can help us choose the right mods from the very start.

    Thank you for your time!

    I will start by saying:

This is a mod that should or could be installed right away:

    http://www.witchernexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=44

I personally think first time playing should be without any mod period.

I mean how are you to determine what someone else advises you is indeed better/more fun for the way you like to play the game?

Play it straight up and choose the mods that you think improve your gameplay/fun by experience.

Experience the game with all it's flaws, pro's and con's.

Just my two pence for ya...

    Enjoy playing the Witcher 2!!!!

  5. I think I never found the Elder Blood trousers, so I don't really know how they look and which xmb I should modify. If you can get me a screenshot, I'll try to find them.

Pauldrons appear have a specific shader that I can't modify at this point. That's why they retain the coppery sheen.

The trousers are grey and red striped, but I'll see what I can do about that screenshot.

  6. WOW that looks so much better already!!!!

Are you doing the trousers and pauldrons aswell?

Really nice work, I really like the black belt and scabbards!

Edit; Damn shame about the hood. Well atleast you gave it a shot!

    Really appreciate it!

Can't wait for you to finish the armor.

    Cheers!

  7. the price for buying items can be found in items/def_prices.xml. If you open up one of the def_item_[type].xml files you'll see the tag in there that assigns price to an item. Problem is that there doesn't seem to be a file to define sell prices so i can only assume it's coded to calculate sell price based off the buy price.

quite possibly done in the action script of the UI swf. files. wont know for some time.

Sorry for asking but could you explain this in steps please?

From what I gather your saying that you can change prices by editing the .xml?

How exactly do I do just that?

    Many thanx in advance!!!

  8. So but anyways guys....

Back to OP's question; How exacty do you make a mod for the Witcher 2?

I'm really interested in that aswell, since I still want the change to the Vram armor.

Would be awesome to learn to do it me self...

    Cheers

Yeah, i just got the Vram armor myself in my 2nd playthrough and it looks awesome so to have it all the time would be great.

There's a mod for just that. The "end game items in act I" mod.

Vran armor plus Elder blood set (wich makes a nice complete set) plus the best swords in the game available for purchase at the dwarven craftsman in Flotsam.;)

  9. The diagram is in a chest together with the armor that is needed to craft the Vran armor.

The chest is located in the sewers, first chamber after you go thru the second blue door.

You could also just install the "end game items in act I" mod. The Vran armor will then be available at the craftsman in flotsam together with the Elder blood set (boots, gauntlets and trousers) wich builds a complete set.

  10. You could use the witcher save game editor (TWeditor).

Very complicated but seems to work.

    Link

This mod request is for The Witcher 2 Marc...This save game editor is for the first witcher no?

The link I posted contains indeed the editor for the first witcher, but was posted merely as an example.

I read on some other sites that it works for TW2 aswell. If this is a fact I don't know, cause the material is to complex for my taste so I never tested it or even tryed to test it.

Maybe someone could test it and make a simple tutorial out of it if it should work?

  11. Hi there,

I was wondering if anybody likes the idea and is willing to create a mod for the Vran armor plus the Elder blood set.

Since a mod was created that gives you acces to these items in act I, and obviously all items together make a complete set, this will be the armor that (atleast I) will have Geralt wear for the entire game.

But I just do not like the colours of it. I just hate it being red and to top it off it has a green(!!!!) belt!?

The appearance of the armor itself I do like very much, I just miss it having a hood.

So to cut a long story short.

I'd like the armor to be black and white, for example the Elder blood gauntlets overall black and the markings on it in white etc etc...

And a hood added that is coloured the same way as the gauntlets with the same type of markings on it.

Thanks in advance to anyone that is willing to give this a go!!!

    Cheers.
