All this talk of making Skyrim look more realistic...
Astal replied to Astal's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Been hearing a lot about those two. I think its about time I played them.. 10 minutes of searching later... Whelp, got every Daggerfall sprite known to man. These will definitely get incorporated, especially since its so Doom styled. -

This is turning out way better than expected. :) http://i40.tinypic.com/qq7tqp.jpg http://i39.tinypic.com/2qlwv40.jpg Still looking for helping hands. Almost done with the "Landscape" folder. -

If it says give credit on the sprite sheet, I give credit. :) In this case, once I release the mod proper. Trust me, I am full on giving credit where its due. -

You should probably not talking about ripping stuff on this forum and in general not steal others art either unless they are ok with it, just a heads up. Otherwise interesting idea. : ) I dont really think its stealing, as I am not taking credit for any of the replacement sprites (except for any and all Grandia sprites.). Been going to these sites for years, I just never had a use for them. But thanks for the warning anyway. -

Why is this the most brilliant idea on Earth/Skyrim? http://i39.tinypic.com/2dihmys.jpg Also, having trouble with the "Sun" sprite: The sprite is literally the perfact size for the sun, but ingame its the replaced sprite alright, but its completely white. Heeeeealp! BTW, any ides for the second moon? -

Instead of waiting, JOIN ME! I more than welcome any and all help for this. The program I use to change the textures is Paint.Net. Free, simple, effective and can open and save .dds files like a boss. I am replacing these textures with sprites from those awesome games of yesteryear. My sources are: http://www.spriters-resource.com/ www.vgmaps.com/ http://www.vgmuseum.com/ http://sdb.drshnaps.com/ http://www.retrogamezone.co.uk/ and whatever else google pulls up. If you cant find a sprite you want, RIP THAT SUCKA! Choose a screenshot from any of those pages and get that sprite. If you still cant find it, play through that game, take a screenie in its native resolution and jack that *censored* outta game land. -

Sounds interesting. (Heh, Sounds) Looking for anything below the year 2000, though Game Boy Advance is welcome too. 2D DS graphics reccomendations are welcome too. I am basically going for a "HORY SHET! I remember that sprite/soundtrack" type of vibe. -

The wierdness of stepping into an 8/16/32 bit 2D abomination of the natural order is exactly what I am going for. Case in point: http://i40.tinypic.com/34htous.jpg I am not trying to create a brand new world out of Skyrim. I just want to make it LOOK like one. Been wanting to do this since Oblivion, I just did not have the time or motivation. Now I do. P.s: Gettin real good at this Texture making... -
...and not one thread has the decency to propose a completely different type of texture project? And it shall be called; The Retro Project! Now hiring! No pay, but plenty of gratification from a job well done. Ahem...anyway, anyone interested in helping out? Its surprisingly simple, but theirs a sh-- ton of textures. http://i40.tinypic.com/qq7tqp.jpg http://i44.tinypic.com/2bqurt.jpg http://i40.tinypic.com/mal9jt.jpg

I feel like I do in Zelda games, where I am constantly running around looking for that damn solution, only to figure out its the most stupidly simple thing on Earth. Thank you!

Right. Soooo how do I zip them back up into BSA's? (i.e; I put in some new textures, so I want to zip up the files into a new "Textures" BSA)
-
You need to unzip those .bsa files. You can use the BSA Unpackers listed here: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/BSA_Unpackers I am a bit confused about one thing you mentioned. Oblivion and Fallout also use .bsa files to store their content, so I'm not sure what you were trying to say. Well, those titles also have the folders (Textures, Meshes, Music, etc) laying around unzipped in the Data folder. Skyrim dosent seem to like that. Hmmmmm...If I create those folders and unzip the BSA into the respective ones like Oblivion seems to...BRB, gotta get to work.
-
I install Skyrim, I go to my "Data" folder, and all I see are Bethesda Software Archives for everything (Music, Textures, etc), instead of simple folders like Oblivion of Fallout. How can I work with this? I can open them up just fine in Fallout NV MM, and I can even extract them as well, but I cant put anything back in (Say, a new sbitsandpices.dds texture). Is there a program that allows me to open these up and play around with them like regular folders? Heeeeeeelp, please.

Okay, so I completely missed out on the whole Oblivion modding scene! NOT THIS TIME, BY CRACKY! I plan on getting that there Construction Set, learn how to use it, and produce a s--- ton video game collectables, hidden everywhere in Skyrim, from mines to ruins to the inside of your socks. Collectables include: -clothes -armor -cards (As soon as I figure that out) -2d Cardboard cutout standees -books (If they allow pictures. Do they allow pictures in Skyrim? HAvent seen a book that does yet.) Below is a sample of what, say, all the cool kids are wearing. Wish me luck!

A Quick Question about Soundtrack Replacements
Astal replied to Astal's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
Darn. Thanks for the heads up though -
I just got a boat load of Video Game Soundtracks (8 Bit to Present Day) and I was wondering if I could share some soundtrack replacements. I'm just wondering if its okay to post soundtracks that have various Zelda, Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy musics in them as mods on this site. Already got 4 styles in mind (8 Bit, 16 Bit, 32-64 Bit and Modern Day.)
-
Thanks dude. They work great!

I was wondering if there was a mod to make items stay put where I place them. I like displaying modded items in my abodes, but they rarely stay put, except for on mannequins. They fall through display cases and bounce off of shelves. They even disappear through the floor, because that's the only way I could think of. I'm sure someone with more technical knowledge is annoyed by this as well. HELP!...please?
-
That was a quick response. Thank you.

I was wondering if its possible to add more music tracks than are currently available (i.e; 20 or more dungeon tracks instead of the 5 default ones). I already figured out how to change the music, I just want to add more variety to the game.
