  1. Hello, thanks for your help. I started a new game a few days ago. Using BOSS, rebuilt wrye and merged patches, cleaned out all the expansion ESMs etc. I'm getting occasional CTDs and TK combat is killing me every time I use certain special moves. It's a known issue but the author is not responding. I'd like to know, for now and future reference, what the safest way of removing mods and continuing a playthrough is? Is it safer to just unbind all of the TK combat special moves and not use them, leaving the mod in my load order, or uninstall it since I know it is causing some problems, somewhere.   2. Hey all, I'm having some problems with Deadly Reflex 6 - I cannot for the life of me get a slow mo finisher to happen. I understand ( I think) how the momentum system works, I will chop away at a guy, not take a single hit and be mixing it up with kicks, different directional power attacks and then when I right power attack, aiming at my target he will just crumple with no slow mo. I went into my DR ini and changed my critical effects multpilier to 100 but this has not helped. Most of the other mods I'm using are quest mods - exceptions are screen effects, martigen's monster mod, midas. I am also using Shivering Isles / GOTY DLC with the unofficial patches (but not for Vanilla Oblivion). Please help...? :(
  3. Hey gang, I'm loading up Oblivion again after some years and figure I'd get loaded up some of the excellent mods that seem to be kicking around. I'm currently running SI and all the DLC including Knights of the Nine with: Unofficial Shivering Isles AND Unofficial Official Mods patches Midas Magic Deadly Reflex 6 Mart's Mutant Mod Streamline Nightshade Armor Male Fullbody Replacer Elseweyr the Deserts of Anequina Unique Landscapes (every one + compatibility patch for Elseweyr, Kvatch, Frostcrag, Tears of the Fiend...) Custom Race Fixer Darn UI Tears of the Fiend Servant of the Dawn Bladesong Gates to Aesgaard Episode 1 Kvatch Rebuilt Frostcrag Reborn Stylish Jump So my question is, if I use BOSS for my load order will I need to make a bashed patch to ensure game stability? Thanks a ton in advance for your advice.
  4. it is still crashing - i have noticed it crashes the MOST when i use wanderer's edition slow motion and any rapid fire weapon. anyone know what could be causing this?

Hey fellas my game has been acting pretty unstable as of late. I am getting crashes anywhere from between ten minutes of play to 2 and a half hours. I realize some people are having a tough time just getting the game to start up, but I'm not enjoying this "live in constant fear of crash" gameplay experience and would really appreciate some help. I have created a bashed patch but the game doesn't seem anymore stable, so I created a FO3EDIT merged patch overtop of the bashed patch and the other mods. Have yet to crash, but I'm not sure if I should be doing this. My bashed patch deactivates project beauty esps, so I imported NPC FACES from the two esps Tweaked ALL names Contents checker is checked FORM ID Lists and Leveled lists set to automatic All mergable patches are merged (excluding a merged patch) My FO3EDIT merged patch accounts for everything covered by the bashed patch and remaining mods. Other info: -the only two mods running aside from the main gang of fully updated DARN UI, MMM, project beauty, FO3 wanderers, and WMK (and their respective FOIP patches) is dragonskin tactical armor and the blackwolf backpack. Stupid game won't even me let me load up without Darn UI now. I used to roll with EVE but I deleted that in the hopes of making the crashes go away. -I WAS running the "increased inreased spawns" option on MMM but have since turned it down to "increased spawns" on the suspicion that it was giving the engine too much grief - I dont use quicksave or autosave and only keep 10 saves in my F03 folder (I regularly delete the manual saves I create) -I have tried using masterupdate on all of my active mods and that didn't seem to help -I am running fallout 3 stutter remover -I have rebuilt my entire mod directory using FOMODS right before making my bashed patch. I have since reloaded to an earlier save. I'm absolutely willing to play without any of these mods except wanderers, WMK and MMM, since they have pretty fundamentally shaped this character. I don't really play without wanderer's edition anyway, game is too easy without it. I would just like to know if disabling any of the other mods would really help? Please, is there something I am missing? Seeing as I have changed, deleted and redone the modlist many times with this character, should i consider scrapping him altogether and starting a new one? Thanks much.

  8. Hello everyone. I'm a new player and I was wondering what mods each of you would personally recommend as "essentials". Because I've never played Fallout 3 before I don't want something that will upset the balance or dramatically alter the way the way the game is played. I was a big fan/modder of Oblivion and some of the mods in that community are fantastic (Midas Magic, Deadly Reflex) but I noticed as I heaped on more mods I started to encounter performance issues, crashing, broken quests, etc. I'd like to keep it simple my first playthrough and grab a few of the well-put together mods with an emphasis on stability and immersion. I'd love to hear your suggestions, please and thank you =)
